@Riot This should be a support item
So this thought process comes mainly from my recent pick up of raka again. She really doesn't have a good item for her as a support. Relic is difficult to run if you'd not melee, spell thief requires her to use a 8 sec CD q to get gold instead of use for her healing regen or passing the ms and healing regen passive onto allies, and coin puts her in poke danger that she can't afford, especially early.
My thoughts are that because these gold income items are the only way supposed can get wards now, there should be a support item for healers/shielders. One that gives them gold for healing/shielding, but limited. Ex: every 5 sec the holder of the item gains 10 gold for healing/shielding. Raka is in a particular situation where she isn't really able to gain wards as fast as other supplant it harder to have vision control against ganks or dives from behind.
Healers/shielders in general shouldn't have to waste spells and mana to gain gold from spell thief or walk into the middle if the minions. Healers/shields are innately squish, so a healer/shielder friendly support item should be available. All I know, is that playing a healer/shielder like Nami, raka, or Janna puts you innately at a disadvantage against supports like Leo, thresh, lux, brand, or Morgana who have consistent ways to get gold without have to waste essential spells in their combos. And while yes these Champs are typically supposed to be counters to healers/shielders, good support that can play against their counters shouldn't innately be at a disadvantage due to early itemization available. The ward changes made these income items extremely important to supports and healers/shielders shouldn't get the short straw for wards by having to waste essential spells for their combos.
And for those of your that don't know: raka's essential combo is q e w in fights and q w for healing. If you waste the q to agro, you won't have it for the passive transfer when you heal. And early the q CD is at 8 sec, the heal is at 5 sec. W cost is 50, q cost is around 70. Good raka's heal with that passive transfer so you heal more than the flat amount. And her q range already puts her in range for most spells or adc autos, so her having a healing supp item doesn't really offer her a safety net against agro. It just makes it easier for her to get wards so she matches up to other supp ward avg early.
Tldr; give supports a healers gold income item so they can get wards at the same rate as agro and tank supports. If you need more info, read above.
