**P.F Charlton: The Paradoxical Instigator **

Introduction

Hello, one and all! I’m back from another day of concept grinding and thinking. Champions do seem to stand out, do they? Yet, we seem them as one person and never another (Sorry, Gnar Gnar , even though your transform, in the end, you’re still Gnar. Goes for you too, Quinn Quinn .). However, one thought came in my mind while working on Frobisher and Julius one day. What if I could make a Champion that hide behind the personas of others?

In my champion preview, I noticed a bunch of inconsistencies with the dialect and story. Some say you thought the combination of different linguistics was too far-fetched to be a champion. Others simply brushed it away as being to redundant or too complex. Or, simply, you didn’t know the heck what the guy was talking about. Gentlemen, I am sorry to say, you were all fooled. You just heard the words of only ONE Persona. Champions are expected to be all shiny and glittering to you with awesome ideas. This champion doesn’t shine through explicit details and luscious descriptions. No, he turns rubbish into fortune. He manipulates whatever he has at his disposal to his advantage. Maybe he was fooling you with that crappy post? No? Yes? Well, listen here.

Friends and enemies alike, allow me to introduce to you a young man whose life had been a mystery from the start. He had to play the roles he was forced to play at a young age, and in the end, became a master at disguising himself from society.

Unveil The Curtains. Let us see who this mysterious Thief is…

Januari Twentieth, Six Hundred Years after Creation

Have arrived in Freljord. Temperature is freezing. Hands barely still. Cold freezing body. Cannot write properly. Hidden inside cave. May be Ursine nearby. Leader’s name unknown. Ursaring? Thunder Eyes? Voliroar? Name still unknown. Heard rumors abroad. Freljord temperature decreasing to artic limits. To compare cold to icebox would be unnecessary. Fire burning, but not for long. Barely packed enough ink to last me for a few sentences. Looking at word count already. 75 words written. Preposterous. Not even counting the words I written back just this instance. Hypocritical. Actually call myself a man of intellect.

Is this possible? Words are meaningless? My sentences banal? My thoughts redundant? For after all. I have been. Living a lie. Writing sentences. Can barely keep. My hands from. Jerking and Gyrating. Bah. Should just write. Single words. From now on. Much better control. Simple maneuvers indeed. Much more controlled. Yes, more control. Something to keep. Something to treasure. Control. Yes. Control.

Looking outside now. Ice is storming. Wind is howling. Clouds blanket sky. Cave is safer. Inside is warmer. Will be able. To write better. Walking around. Generating heat. Creating more friction. Yes. Gotta move. We gotta move. Move to survive. Can’t stay in one place. Yes. Can’t stay here. Gotta keep moving. Yes. Moving. Yes.

Moving.

Meeting between The Mayor of Piltover and P.F Charlton: Mai Seventeenth, Six Hundred Years after Creation

Mayor: Mr. Charlton, am I ever so grateful for your assistance in this matter. Y’see, I am most deeply sorry I had to trouble you from your affairs; I assure you, I didn’t summon you without good reason.

Charlton: Naw, Mr. Mayor, I ain’t gonna make a big hodge-posh out of this ol’ calamity. Besides, you done me right a favor long ago, helping my boys go free. I told ‘em they shouldn’t be romping around like them Yordles, but them spirits ain’t tamed so easily. You done me right, so, I’ll do right for you. Now, what’s this here problem you got going on in your fancy places of yours?

Mayor: Well, you see, Charlton. It’s the League of Legends. Every person on Runeterra knows of its existence. It’s kept the peace for hundreds of years without creation.

Charlton: And? Something wrong done by it?

Mayor: Well, it’s- (a teacup shatters to the ground, and shuffles can be heard can to clean up the mess) I’m sorry, you must forgive a poor old man.

Charlton: If there’s one thing I learned from my ol’ pop, is that you always do right by people older than you. Here… (Charlton quickly cleans up the mess, and places the broken pieces in the trash) Y’all tend to make mistakes when you get older. There ain’t nothing wrong by it.

Mayor: Age does kill you, Charlton. I don’t know who to look after Piltover after I’m gone.

Charlton: Miss Sheriff be doing some mighty fine work there. That inventor too, be helping with them treaties with Demacia. And, I have to say, that darn young explorer feller has quite the reputation with the young’uns.

Mayor: Yes, Caitlyn. Jayce. And Ezreal. All heroes of Piltover, I know. But, in the end, it’s me who’s pulling their strings. Without a leader like myself…They’re nothing, Charlton. Simple and cold as that.

Charlton: Damn straight words that’ll break a heart, Mr. Mayor. But, you’re tellin’ me you ain’t leaving yet.

Mayor: Charlton, The League of Legends wants to sponsor all of the heroes in the Six Great Cities. Not just for part-time, but every day.

Charlton: Yer forgot to mention Bandle City.

Mayor: Do you really think the League of Legends or any other race would recognize those rodents as real, civilized inhabitants?

Charlton: Hey, Mr. Mayor, you ought to show some respect for these little fellers. Heimerdinger? Tristana? Temmo? Rumble?

Mayor: A scientist, a commando, a scout, and a street rat junkie. You’d really think we should bow down before them?

Charlton: (Could be heard breathing heavily, but no act of aggression could be noticed)

Mayor: My opinion on Yordles need not concern the true course of this state of events. No, the true concern is the amount of control the League of Legends placed on this continent! The League only served to broker truces, no more! But now, new heroes are being drafted into its ranks every day, taking away the very heroes that protect our borders! Pretty soon, Piltover will be defenseless against the Noxians, or even worse, the Zaunites!

Charlton: Hmph. Never did like them carpetbaggers anyways.

Mayor :( Slams his fist on the desk...) We humans have a right to express our concern for the things that we cherish the most. This League thinks it can take away our heroes from us, but, we’ll show them that they’re not going to get them so easily!

Charlton: Erm…What’d you think be the solution to this high-falutin’ jibe, Mr. Mayor.

Mayor: Charlton. You go to the League of Legends. Shut it down. I don’t care how you do it! Shut this horrific vile place down at once! Use whatever methods you deem appropriate!

Charlton: Mr. Mayor…Y’all know I ain’t no prissy diplomat for them things, you reckon? Them politics in jabbering, Tammany-Halling, and Gerrymandering ain’t that for me! I’m yer treasurer, Mr. Mayor.

Mayor: Yes, you are, Charlton. And, with that money. I want you to make sure our heroes stay in Piltover. Not in the League of Legends!

Charlton: (silence can be heard, a silence so chilling, the simple drop of a pin can be heard)

Mayor: Is there a problem, Charlton?

Charlton: Y’all realize this ain’t gonna end in a fairy-tale endin’?

Mayor: Do it. Stop them. Piltover, and it’s heroes belong to me. Everything.

Mai Eighteenth, Six Hundred Years after Creation

People can be so easy to fool, nowadays.

The doctor called in. He said the mayor was recuperating in the hospital. After the call, I smiled as I put down the phone. Oh, how foolish was he to drink that ‘amber liquid’ I gave him as a token of great wealth. His own enjoyment and merriment sent him down towards the grave, which will be pretty soon, I hope. But, before he left, he gave me the keys to the kingdom. It was as if the devil himself sat upon the heaven’s throne and laughed as he stared down on us. How foolish people can be these days, to see themselves fall into utter despair so quickly.

My position in the League of Legends has been secured. In a few short days, I will head off to discuss the implementation of a new champion: myself. However, The League knows of all of their heroes exploitations, so, I did what I had to do to pull a few strings in the registration process. I’m currently registered as the Treasurer of Piltover. Obviously, Summoners will find it confusing what is a simple politician doing in the League of Legends? However, like I said, people are easy to fool, and they’ll soon see how much suffering a champion in the League can cause.

I’ve looked back on my personas before: the country boy and the grave robber. To be honest, they’ve been with me for so long, I feel like they’ve been a part of me.

Honestly, it took me months to practice that desperado accent! I mean, really! I had to travel towards the outskirts of Demacia just to listen to a bunch of simplistic farmers jive on about the weather and how much money they’re going to make off simple bundles of crop! The complexity of it; I haven’t really thought of how city people look at me. Some big gallivanting brute with a bunch of cash his daddy gave to him just before he died. And now, here he comes! With his prissy top hat and shined shoes, thinking he owns the place! Heh, it makes me laugh how people get so riddled up in my success, their own lives fall down nowadays.

Changing one’s voice isn’t hard. You just have to adapt to the persona that life seems to shove right in your face. For example, two homeless Yordles are fighting over a loaf of pastry bread the owner has graciously put out for them. Believe me, as inhumane as it sounds, there isn’t a chance those two would be glad in sharing. So, what would they do? They played their part, as a cute little animal who only feeds off the scraps of their superiors. And, in the end, only one Yordle’s with the cutest face is going to get the bread. Why did he get it? Because, he used his charm to survive, unlike the other Yordle. The key to people is what they believe and what they want to believe. Beauty and grace draw in people so easily. Thus, the bread to the Yordle.

Oh, have I told you my trip to the Freljord? Ghastly weather it is, can’t even breathe a smidgen of clear air in its frozen Alps. Nonetheless, I got what I came for. A ton of Ursine claws, paws, furs, and hides, all of them sent to manufacturing companies across the Cities. Believe me, my treasury could be worth all the gold in all of Runeterra, considering the money I made on that deal and others alone. Though, I had to admit, that Bear didn’t feel quite at all taking some of his kin. Especially after I destroyed his homes with an avalanche, courtesy of a bunch of Hextech explosives inside a surrounding mountain side.

His kin was gone, his homes ruined, all he could do was head back to The Winter’s Fury in defeat. That’s the thing about these war heroes. You crush their spirit, they won’t find anything to fight for anymore. All I simply did was throw another obstacle in his path. I hoped he’d find the courage to fight back, but instead, ran with his tails behind his legs like a dog. No honorable death whatsoever. Made it easier for my men to collect the bears. Soon, their claws will be cup holders, their carcasses sent to taxidermists, and their meat made into my next stew. And, the rest of the profit goes to me.

Look, people ask me if I’m heartless. I do these things so often; everyone in Piltover thinks I don’t have a soul. The main question is: Do I care about this?

No.

I told myself I was going to survive. I made the choices I made long ago. I decided that there was no honor in being a street rat; there was only honor in one thing: Wealth. And, from that day, I never wanted to turn back. Because, I love it. I love having everything to myself! I love those miserable fools that kiss at my feet and beg for my service! I love it all!

Because, you know why?

It’s so easy to fool people. You can put on a hat or a different suit; people will think you’re a changed man. Bribe the newspapers, close the presses, you can make yourself a god among the people. Change your voice or jaunt around, you’ll be looked upon differently by the others. The art of survival is one of the hardest paths to walk on, believe me. Because, there are so many ways you can make people see your side, whether it be good or bad.

I fool people to survive. What I lost long ago, I can’t get back. But what I gain today, I’m not letting go.

Survival. It’s a story that never ends.

READ ALL ABOUT IT! PILTOVER TREASURER COMMISSIONED IN THE LEAGUE OF LEGENDS! SURPRISING REACTION BY OTHER SUMMONERS! CONTROVERSY OF A NEW POLICY BEING ENFORCED BY THE LEAGUE OF LEGENDS! READ ALL ABOUT IT!

Treasurer? Treasure Hunter? Nobleman? No, these are but personas for the great P. F. Charlton, The Paradoxical Instigator! Born from the slums of Noxus, Charlton has arisen from poverty by the tutelage of a wealthy Piltover scholar, renowned by the people. Charlton took his place after he died, excelling in the great arts of literature, history, and economics. Eventually, Charlton became so engrossed in his knowledge, he began to transform himself into an astounding number of disguises, which he dubs Personas. For instance, he currently takes an opulent life in his office as the Treasurer of Piltover. When his sense of adventure perks up in his mind, he travels abroad and searches for exotic relics or items to be sold on the black market as a ruthless poacher. But, most of the days, he confines to his writing as a simple wealthy scholar. These masks he has lived under are but a blanket to hide the tragic beginnings of his life. Charlton’s main goal in life: to survive, no matter the cost.

Charlton is a Tank AD bruiser who uses a variety of status effects to survive in battle. To adapt to the ever-changing battlefield of Summoner’s Rift, Charlton uses Personas to shift amongst the chaos in the heat of battle. Instead of using Mana, Charlton builds up Survival Instinct, which is gained through activating his ultimate ability, The Masks of Thieves. Survival Instinct empowers Charlton’s regular abilities for a duration of time, allowing Charlton to control the battlefield around him. Due to his survival techniques, Charlton can bring sustain into heavy teamfights that require damaging abilities.

Passive: The Art of Survival:

Charlton’s different personas grant him different bonuses when switching to them. Also, by switching personas, Charlton gains a bonus 5/10/15 extra Attack Damage when switching from persona to persona. This effect only lasts for 2 seconds. Charlton also uses Survival Instinct in place of Mana, which is capped at a limit of three. Each Survival Instinct Bar gain is equivalent to the use of 3 Abilities. Survival Instinct Bars decays after 7 Seconds, to avoid being stored for later use.

Bonus Attack Damage gained through Switching: 5/10/15 Attack Damage

Duration of Attack Damage Bonus: 2 Seconds

Survival Instinct Bar Decay: 7 Seconds

R Ultimate/Ability: The Masks of Thieves:

This ultimate is unlocked at Level One. Charlton adapts to his ever-changing environment by switching into appropriate Personas for the occasions. Each Persona has a different effect when switched from another, boosting Armor, Magic Resistance, or Movement Speed. The bonus effects by the Persona last until switching to the other Persona. Bonuses from multiple personas cannot be combined together. Survival Instinct does not empower The Masks of Thieves.

Persona of The Scholar: As the Scholar, Charlton gains 3/6/9/12 Magic Resistance and 10% Cooldown Reduction. Also, Charlton’s basic attacks gain 125 Extra Range, but they travel slowly towards his targets.

Persona of The Adventurer: As the Adventurer, Charlton gains 4/8/12/16 Armor and reduces Minion Damage by 10%. However, Charlton’s Ranged Basic Attacks are reduced to Physical Attacks, reducing the Range to 200 Units.

Persona of The Treasurer: As the Treasurer, Charlton gains 25 Movement Speed and has a chance, when killing a minion, of gaining 1-8 Gold. Charlton’s Basic Attacks now split to two other targets, but is cut by 33% to each projectile. If there are no enemies in range, the attack is simply a basic attack.

Q Ability: No Trace Left/Hunter’s Fury/Words of Wisdom

Treasurer Persona: Charlton calls in a targetable Piltover Sniper from behind his position. The Sniper takes 1 second to line up the shot, then fires a piercing round that deals 20/40/60/80/100 physical damage at enemies. The sniper cannot be summoned in front of Charlton, and disappears after the shot. The skill-shot width on this ability has been reduced to 100 units. Any enemy caught at the tip of the skillshot is dealt a critical hit.

Adventurer Persona: Charlton’s machete is infused with mystical power, and deals 30/60/90/120/150 extra bonus damage on his next basic attack. Hunter’s Fury can reset the basic attack animation, instantly leading into the strike.

Scholar Persona: Charlton gracefully kicks a magical spell book into an enemy, stopping on the first enemy it hits. The book deals magic damage and silences the enemy for .5/1/1.5/2/2.5 Seconds.

Survival Instinct Bonus: Treasurer: The Sniper is now cloaked, and when dealing shots to enemies, slows the target for 2 seconds.

Survival Instinct Bonus: Adventurer: Hunter’s Fury now causes bleed on the target, losing 10/20/30/40/50 Health over the course of 3 Seconds. Also, the target is more vulnerable to Critical Strikes, and Champions without a Critical Strike Percentage can perform a random Critical Strike on the afflicted champion.

Survival Instinct Bonus: Scholar: Words of Wisdom now stuns the target for .25/.5/.75/1/1.25 Seconds

Base Damage: Adventurer 20/40/60/80/100 Attack Damage (+100% Attack Damage)

Base Slow Through Survival Instinct: 10/15/20/25/35 Percent Slow

Sniper Cast Range: Half Circle, 400 Units

Base Cooldown: 7/6/5/4/3 Seconds

W Ability: False Hope/Jagged Edge/Fool’s Gold

Scholar Persona: Charlton places a cloaked trap at target location. The trap can be activated only by enemy champions. The cloak only lasts for 3 seconds before becoming visible to the enemy. When stepped on the trap, enemy champions suffer 30/60/90/120/150 magic damage. The trap also reveals their position for 4 Seconds.

Adventurer Persona: Charlton spawns a Piltover Drone that deals physical damage instead of magical damage, and ensnares the champion for 2 Seconds. The drone searches for potential enemy champions for 3 seconds, before burrowing in its vicinity. This object is not cloaked when spawned, and is visible even when seen through bushes.

Treasurer Persona: Charlton throws a Piltover Money Bag at target location, and the bag explodes, damaging all enemies in its vicinity. The bag deals a combination of magic damage and attack damage, and restricts Health and Mana Regeneration for 5 Seconds.

Survival Instinct Bonus: Scholar: The trap silences opponents for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 Seconds.

Survival Instinct Bonus: Adventurer: The drone causes physical 10/25/40/55/70 bleed damage over 2 Seconds

Survival Instinct Bonus: Treasurer: The duration on the time of restriction on the Health and Mana Regeneration is tripled.

All Traps decay after 25 seconds.

Cosmetic Effects: The trap while in the Adventure Persona is a rusty Makeshift Piltover Drone. The Scholar Persona Trap is an unstable Magic Book. The Treasurer Persona Trap is a decoy Money Bag with a net stuffed inside.

Base Damage: 30/60/90/120/150 Magic Damage (+20% Ability Power)

Base Reveal Time: 4 Seconds

Base Cooldown: 15 Seconds for All Ranks

E Ability: The Escape Artist/Arcane Trickery/Getaway Scamper

Adventurer Persona: Charlton dashes in a skillshot direction, knocking up enemies along his path, and dealing 25/50/75/100/125 Attack Damage. Dashing can avoid global ultimate skill shots, but cannot avoid regular ability skill shots, projectiles, or target based projectiles.

Scholar Persona: Charlton blinks towards in a target location of 200 Units. However, with his little arcane power expended, Charlton receives 5/10/15/20/25 Percent Extra Damage from all sources for a period of 6 Seconds.

Treasurer Persona: Charlton begins to slowly jog into a run, thus increasing his movement speed. However, when running away from an enemy champion, he gains 25 Movement Speed. Running towards an enemy champion loses 50 Movement Speed while running. Getaway Scamper grants 100 Movement Speed at full run, and slowly decays when stopping after the ability ends. Getaway Scamper lasts for 5 Seconds.

Survival Instinct Bonus: Adventurer: Charlton can dash a second time, but does not deal any damage. The dash range is shorter on the second dash.

Survival Instinct Bonus: Scholar: Charlton can blink towards target location without receiving extra damage from any sources. Also, his next basic attack can deal and extra 5(+0.1 Percent of Total Attack Damage + Rank) Magic Damage.

Survival Instinct Bonus: Treasurer: For every 2.5 Seconds Charlton runs without being in combat or being attacked, his cooldown on Getaway Scamper is increased. This also applies to his other abilities as well.

Base Damage: Adventurer: 25/50/75/100/125 (+40% Attack Damage)

Base Dash Range: Adventurer: 500 Units

Base Dash Range on Second Dash: Adventurer: 300 Units

Base Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10 Seconds

Champion Gameplay

Originally, I designed Charlton to be this Tank AD Bruiser, but when I remodeled his kit to put in effects from all of his personas, I found him to be reeling off of the path I had originally intended him to be. Now, when I look at him, I see a champion with a masterful amount of skills to control the battlefield around him, just like he manages his personas! The main strength Charlton finds in his abilities is his Survival Instinct Bars. They are the bread and butter towards his whole gameplay, and how he starts off and ends in the game. To fully understand Charlton and his personas, I will explain each of the Persona’s Strengths and Weaknesses, and how to deal with each Persona effectively.

Adventurer Persona:

The rigged, battle-hardy of the three, The Adventurer Persona places Charlton in the heat of the spotlight, smack dab in front of the enemy champions, turrets, and even the minions and monsters in fights. This kit was specifically designed to be the Bruiser Type gameplay for champions who aren’t afraid to go in. With a surprising knock-up dash, a bleeding basic attack, and a snare that locks champions in, The Adventure persona is fit for champions who wish to play Charlton aggressively. However, this aggressiveness comes at a price. In teamfights, since you’ll be tanking out most of the physical damage, enemy Mages will be sure to exploit your magic resistance when you’re tanking the damage out front. Therefore, make sure your team kills the enemy Mage before going all in with your assault. Also, don’t take Charlton’s aggressiveness too far! Your basic attack changes you to fight face to face with enemy champions, away from safe minion cover! Make sure to go in for the kill when you feel you can secure it.

Laning with the Adventure Persona is mainly simple. Use Hunter’s Fury to quickly last hit minions for easy kills. Also, when harassing other champions, build up your Survival Instinct Bar by casting abilities, then use a boosted Hunter’s Fury on the enemy champion to bleed their Health and force them back to safety. Make use of Jagged Edge’s snare to catch unsuspecting champions off guard. A boosted drone can also make the bleed effect even stronger. Use The Escape Artist to initiate fights, or escape out of it, if your Survival Instinct bar is full. The knock-up allows for other champions to come in and secure the kill. Yasuo’s Last Breath is a prime example of Charlton’s effective use of knock-up.

Scholar Persona

The Scholar Persona has the aspect of a Mage champion, but not quite a mage. Very few abilities deal magic damage or offer any sort of damaging magic powers towards the champion. It can be well considered as a Utility/Mage Persona of the champion, dealing effectively with enemy Mages or Hybrid Champions. Also, the Passive on the Persona allows you to strike your intended target from a far distance, with great accuracy. However, the downside of this is that with this Persona, you do not have all of the magical abilities of a Mage or Utility Champion. Thus, your combat potential against a Mage champion will be very one-sided, in the Mage’s favor. Also, without the Armor Bonus of the Adventurer Persona, it leaves you vulnerable to Marksmen and Fighters. Use this persona to distract enemy Mages from the other team, allowing you to secure your victory.

When Laning with the Scholar Persona, use Words of Wisdom to harass enemy champions. Building up to the Survival Instinct Bonus can allow you to stun the enemy champion, switch into another Persona, then secure the kill with that Persona’s damaging abilities. False Hope can locate the position of enemy targets through precise vision and brush control. Place your spell-books in specific locations, such as the Dragon Pit, Baron Nashor, or the Jungle Buffs to give vision over important landmarks your team may explore when given the time. Arcane Trickery is ONLY an escape tool. DO NOT use it to initiate fights, as the increased damage from all sources will tear Charlton to shreds.

Treasurer Persona

The Treasurer Persona is, perhaps, the most versatile in all of the other Personas. As the Adventure Persona bases on offense, and the Scholar Persona mainly focuses on defense, the Treasurer Persona is a combination of both aspects of the persona. It is the normal persona you start with when beginning a match on Summoner’s Rift, and it perfectly balances the offensive capabilities and the defensive capabilities of Charlton himself. This persona represents a Fighter/Utility Persona of Charlton’s kit, and can be experimented in many ways. However, the downside to this persona is that there isn’t any improvements Charlton gets here, other than his increased Movement Speed and his Bonus Gold. Thus, switching between personas is vital for Charlton to gain bonus effects.

While laning, make use of Charlton’s basic attacks, as it hits two more extra enemies close to the primary enemy. The shots can quickly last-hit multiple minions, but be sure to time your shots right to reach the maximum peak of damage. No Trace Left is a versatile move on its own, slowing down enemies in its path and dealing extra damage at the apex of the shot. Position your sniper to where the enemy champion does not anticipate the charging of the shot; the best spot would be the bushes. Survival Instinct Bars ensure the champion cannot see the Sniper, and the slow allows you to catch up to enemy champions and deal the finishing blow. Fool’s Gold can hit multiple enemy champions and reduce health and mana regeneration, making them more vulnerable when attack. It also works as an effective wave-clearing move as well! Getaway Scamper can work both ways: To scamper out of safety, or To scamper into the fray. The question is how you use it to begin fights or run away from a failed skirmish. (Noob.)

Charlton’s kits may be complex, but its versatility allows you to experiment with his Personas in a variety of different ways. Try each Persona out, and see which one works best for you!

Champion Skins

Clown Car Charlton: Step right up, Ladies and Gentlemen! The Great, P.T Charlton is here to entertain for all your comedic needs! With their name etched in blood and sweat, the Charltons will do whatever it takes to keep their family name alive…

Treasurer: The Treasurer scrapes his shoe at the ground, removing the dirt off his heels. He then crosses his arms and shakes his head in disappointment at his enemy, uninterested in his skills.

Scholar: Charlton drops his spell book, slipping from his fingers by accident. In an instant, fireworks pop out of the book, surprising Charlton. Charlton quickly closes the book, and takes it back in his hands.

Scholar: Charlton drops his spell book, and kneels to the ground. However, he is sucked into the spell book, and the book closes with a slam.

Treasurer: Charlton falls to the ground, and a money bag unfurls in front of him. He tries to collect all of the money before he dies, but collapses in front on top of the money.

Recall Animation

All Personas: He begins to account his data or information in his Spellbook, Journal, or Ledger, depending on the persona. He then closes the book and holds it up to the sky. After finishing the recall, he turns with a flourish and puts the book back in his Satchel.

Scholar: He teleports back onto the platform, utilizing the Arcane Powers of Shurima.

I'm quite impressed with Charlton's lore but not so impressed with his kit. You haven't weaved it together at all. It's like the current Sion to me and I really don't find that in any way interesting. What I would do is throw out all his basic abilities and replace them with different ones that change in effect based off the persona he takes. Since he's a bruiser i'd also suggest adding a consistent amount of ability damage to his kit, kind of like Trundle's Chomp.

TL;DR- The lore is awesome. Just take the basic abilities back to the drawing board.

His kit looks great at first, and it is in a way. However, do you really expect the players to be able to memorise all 9 abilities, their bonuses, and at the same time, keeping track of their personas. Elise, jayce etc is already hard enough. Not to mention a lot of the abilities are really just imitations of other champions. For example, his q really just is a degraded version of "Ace in the Hole". Also, do you really expect riot to design a champion that kicks books being a scholar? Would you kick your laptop at the enemy? Another thing is that this champion shares too much similarities. When people are reading it, they feel as if its just a whole bunch of desired traits of champions dumped together.

It is possible to say that every single part of this champion on its own would be perfect. But let's be real here, would you mix the worlds best tea and the perfect coffee together? to be honest, this champion does interest me, but when you design a champion you got to be practical. It's not just 3 seconds of boiling blood, its months of research, surveys, and data collection to back up or disprove one single champion concept. You should really have a serious rethink, then edit this post again. Overall, although it has a lot of negatives, this champion is still quite creative and absorbing to read about.
