I tend to have a lot of ideas about champion design to a certain extent, and this was originally supposed to be on a completely different sort of champion in the form of a thief, but then I realized that the ultimate and general lightning theme would work so much better on Ao Shin. So let's get started.

Ao Shin, the Herald of Nature's Wrath. (title pending)

Lore-wise: Elder Dragons are undeniably powerful beasts in Runeterra even without their incredible intellect and exceptional magical affinity. All cultures attribute these monsters in varying capacities to desirable traits such as grace, power and knowledge. That is not to say that all dragons and species are born uniform. Ao Shin was born with an especially acute affinity to nature, and as such winced at every possible loss of life to a certain degree. As well as he kept his secret, his Ionian kin saw this as a weakness and relegated him to the litter runt, a waste of their century iteroparity. Although his body grew frail from the segregation, his magical and nature affinity grew to help sustain his body on the relative scraps of offered livestock and the derivation to runt granted him time to attempt meditation on what truly ailed the world. By the time he reached adulthood his body was small for an Elder Dragon, yet his magical prowess dwarfed even his parents by an order of magnitude. But then the episodes returned with renewed vigor, sending him near insanity. His magical vision had finally passed across the sea from Ionia into the Valoran mainland, and with it came the devastation that waged there. The four nations had begun expanding and developing at a violent pace, removing countless hundred thousands of plants and animals along with them. So violent were those events that Ao Shin knew; If nothing could quench those advances, then so too would his sanity be stretched beyond his limits.

Stats-wise, Ao Shin is unimpressive with below average armor and health gain in addition to a lower base AS, but has a significant strength when it comes to mana pool and regen in addition to very high base AD. However, his spell cast point is at 0.5 seconds as opposed to the standard 0.25 seconds. Base movespeed in the region of 330-325.

Abilities:

Passive: Nature's furor.

Nature's furor is a charge based system that grants bonus effects to his basic abilities. Charge cooldown equals (18.5-(0.5xAo Shin's level)) and is not influenced by cooldown reduction, but the charge rate is increased by 50% while in combat with champions for 3 seconds.

Charged abilities are available when one charge of Nature's furor is available and will consume one charge of Nature's furor.

Hyper Charged abilities are available when two or more charges are available and will consume two stacks of Nature's furor.

Ao Shin can store 2(not sure if I should increase this to three?) charges and can increase it through ranks in his ultimate The Price of Arrogance.

Ao Shin's temperament is linked to the land's plight, and their demand of retribution must not be denied.

Q: Arcane Rending Bolt. Ao Shin charges and fires a massive bolt of lightning at target enemy, dealing magic damage and silencing them for 1 second. Damage: 55/100/145/190/235 (+0.45AP) magic damage [from 70-290] Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 Range: 700 Charged bonus: Deals 15% increased damage and increases the silence duration to 1.25 seconds. The silence instance is applied after the damage. Hyper Charged bonus: Deals 30% increased damage and increases the silence duration to 1.75 seconds. This ability fully pierces spell shields.

_So ferocious is Ao Shin's power that magic itself succumbs and recedes with the aftermath of this blast. _

W: Heavenly Smite. Ao Shin commands a thundercloud above to reveal a target area, lasting 1.5 seconds. After 0.5 seconds, if an enemy is present, the thundercloud will fire a column of lightning after a 0.25 second delay over the area, damaging, interrupting and slowing the target closest to the center of the area, prioritizing champions. Other targets also caught in the area will take 60% damage and slowed by 30% instead. Damage: 65/105/145/185/225 (+0.55AP) magic damage Cooldown: 24/21/18/15/12 Range: 750 Radius: 150 Slow: 70% for 0.5 seconds. Charged bonus: Deals 15% bonus damage and stuns the primary target for 0.75 seconds. Additional targets are slowed by 55% for 0.75 seconds. Vision radius increased to 225. Hyper Charged bonus: Deals 30% increased damage and stuns the primary target for 1.25 seconds. Additional targets take 75% damage, are stunned for 0.25 seconds and then slowed by 90% for 0.5 seconds. Vision radius increased to 300.

Ao Shin is heralded at all times by storms. It is merely a matter of directing their focus at an area to see results.

E: Gale Force Roar. After a brief delay, Ao Shin roars at a target direction, damaging and slowing all targets hit. Damage: 60/110/160/210/260 (+0.5AP) magic damage [from 80/135/190/245/300 (+0.7AP)] Cooldown: 22/20.5/19/17.5/16 Range:650 Cone Angle: 30 degrees. Slow: 50% for 1.5 seconds. Charged bonus: 15% increased damage, increases the Cone Angle to 40 degrees, and emits an aftershock wave after 0.5 seconds. This aftershock refreshes the slow duration and damages targets equal to 5% of their current hp in magic damage. Hyper Charged bonus: 30% increased damage, increases the Cone Angle to 55 degrees and emits three aftershocks with 0.5 second intervals.

In a cloud splitting roar, Ao Shin blasts his foes. All survivors have since testified to live a peaceful life.

Ultimate: The Price of Arrogance. Increases Nature's Furor Charge limit from 2 to 3/4/5 max charges. Ao Shin marks a target enemy, dispelling all shields and spell shields from the target. While the mark persists, all healing is reduced by 50% and is revealed with true sight. At the end of the duration, Ao Shin once again dispels all shields and spell shield from the target and deals base magic damage in addition to a percentage of all health gained (this includes Nasus/Lulu ult) over the marks duration. This mark cannot be purified in any fashion even if suggested otherwise (eg. Soraka ult will also be reduced by 50% despite saying that it will dispel Grievous Wounds). If the target becomes immune to damage at the end of the marks duration, the mark duration will pause until the target becomes able to take damage again. This ability does not consume any Charges to activate. Cooldown: 150/130/110 Range: 600 Base magic damage: 175/275/375 [from 100/150/200 true damage] Magic damage as percentage of health gained: 20/30/40% [from 35/50/65% true damage] Mark duration: 2/3/4 seconds Normally dragons would laugh at ignorance and swiftly deal with arrogance. With Ao Shin, both are grave offenses.

So, what do you guys think? I've got stuff to do currently, but I would really like some feedback on this. Please note that all numbers are placeholders only and should be attributed as being there for the sake of original intention. Wanted to do the descriptions to add a sort of atmosphere around Ao Shin because I like the way that Dota 2 does it. As for position, Ao Shin has sufficient utility in his kit to fully warrant a support play style, but mid laning is well within his ability. Edits: marked in [ ]

I think that the concept is good, but when designing, you always have to keep in mind how it feels to play AGAINST this champion.

His ultimate is VERY good against certain champions and comps, and useless against others. Not to mention that if you happen to be playing against it as a champion such as Mundo (It is clear that you designed the ultimate to counter champs like Mundo etc.) that is just feels like shit to play against and there is literally nothing you can do. As if grevious wounds didn't already fuck you up hard enough. Also it's point+click damage with a very strong but pretty low visibility debuff, which is kind of lame.

But yeah, keep in mind that playing against it shouldn't feel oppressive and 0-fun. Impossible to outplay (When this kit fights it is merely a stat check. You either have enough damage to 1-rotation them, or you lose the fight) so try to keep that in mind as well.
