Vallian, Origins. Against the walls
Run you little bastard, it won't do you know good, said a slave trader striding atop a horse saddle in the open savanna. There ain't no where fer ya ta hide, so ya best come on back so we can put ya in with the rest'a these toadies. Under the blistering sun even the browned patches of grass felt hot beneth Vallian's bare feet.'Whoopaa', a whip cracked past his ear slicing the air and razing the grass as Vallian rolled out of its path.
Unarmed, wearing nothing but a ragged vest and loin cloth, out of water and near dehydration, Vallian was the son of a common thief and having no luck on this particular day, both he and his father were caught for the theft of an arguably untamed horse. Vallian's father Danmar had the idea of opening a farm where they would no longer have to steal to have supper, and would be able to make an honest living.
Unfortunately for them, all that they needed was a horse to help plow the land and start their lives anew. The only way to obtain a horse however was to either catch one or buy it from the stables the choice was obvious seeing they had no money. After arriving at the Demacian plains Danmar spotted a strong looking young stallion drinking water from a nearby brook, Demacian horses are typically calm creatures except this one was being pursued by Leyton smith a nobleman and the owner of the town stable. Villain and Danmar were already within lasso reach of the horse when Leyton saw them and called out, hey you!!, What you doing. Leytons voice spooked the creature the very moment Danmar's lasso roped the horses neck, bucking wild the horse kicked frantically, Leyton now aware of the men's intent, came galloping up the bank on a mount of his own. Hey good job boys you caught him right for me, a puzzled look formed on a faces of father and son as they still struggled to bring the horse under control. Hand it here Layton said as he reached out his hand for Danmars lasoo, "you must be mental" said Vallian, we caught it first find your own. Leyton squared his gaze at Vallian as he shook his head. You know who i am fellas, am the stable master of this town, and if its about horses what i say goes. Well am sorry sir but if your the stable keep then that means you have no need for this horse, after all the yours is right there. Leyton chuckled, and, what if I want a new one? Vallian being impatient burst out, so what if you do, look there's one right there, pointing out to a black spotted horse trotting towards the brook just a few feet from where they were standing.
Leyton looked over his shoulder at the horse and said well i guess it is, with s smug look on his face. Fellas am looking to do this peacefully, just hand over the horse. Finally Danmar broke out, god dammit smith just leave us alone, this ain't your ranch and all these are wild horses, also you don't need no new horses Cuz your stable hasn't sold one in weeks. Slightly angered Leyton looked at Danmar, and who exactly are you sir, i reckon ya turn round lem me get a look at ya. After finally calming the wild stallion Danmar sighed and turned to look Leyton face to face. I thought I recognized that voice, well if it ain't dirty hand Danmar. Fully annoyed Danmar sighed and said, listen, we ain't doing any thing wrong, i aint doing any thing illegal so just get out of here. OK fellas l get your point i'all be on my way. Leyton strode away slowly as Danmar brought the captured horse closer to his side. Mission accomplished Val, time to go home he said with an elated look on his face. Still annoyed vallian said i wander what convinced him to finally leave us, as he watched Leyton ride out of sight. Back at their house, Danmar fastened the horse to a tree growing outside near the end of the town wall. Night was fast approaching and their first goal accomplished Danmar knew they had their work cutout of them and instructed Vallian to get rest as he finished tending to the horse.
Nightfall, the sound of chainmail and boots clinking stirred Vallian and his father from their sleep. what is that sound, chainmail? But why would the guards .... That bottom feeder. Said vallian keeping his voice low.
