Hello again, this is part 2 of my fiddle rework ideas. This one will be focused on a potential teaser trailer i thought of to tease him, like they did with swain, warwick, aatrox, pyke, ect. If you are reading this for the first time, i suggest you look at my first post in gameplay talking about some ideas i thought of for the fiddle rework, even if riot already has a vision for him.

The link is here: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/Li4z4QAw-a-thoughtful-discussion-about-fiddlesticks-rework-and-story-part-13

So I had an idea about a teaser trailer being more of a fable. What does that mean? What i'm thinking of, since riot has said they almost want fiddlesticks to be this terrifying boogeyman of sorts that nobody knows if its real or not, making him more of a myth that most people know about, but don't truly believe in. They still have that small ping of fear in the back of their heads that he may just be real. That got me thinking about a trailer showing some psychological fear aspects of dealing with this 'thing'.

What i'm going to type out is a sort of script of sorts, it wont have many details about places or names, i apologize in advance, but in the full trailer or lore/story, riot will be the ones making up the names and choosing the places, so my hands are kind of tied. I will do the best i can to convey it, and have a summery of the trailer after. Here it goes:

Setting : Nighttime at a small peasant house/old farm, rain starting to come and wind howling, thunder beginning to start to be heard in the distance. You see in their field, a small scarecrow on a post, not looking like too much, with crows on top of it. The camera then starts to pan to a window, where you hear a muffled voice, the camera then goes inside the window and we see its a father telling a story (this will come into play later) to his child with the mother standing at the door to the room. When we enter the room, we hear the father talking as if we missed something he said.

Father:- and one by one, the children vanished without a trace, and the scarecrow was GONE! Legend says that if children misbehave too much, the fiddlesticks will take them away, never to be seen again! "father closes book" "the child, on the brink of tears, quivering in fear, starts to cry" "the mother looks disapprovingly at the father, to which he shrinks down in embarrassment and shame" Mother: Hey now, its ok little one (sitting on child's bed stroking their hair) Its just a story, none of that is real! "child starts to calm down and speak through sniffles" Child" s-so the fiddlesticks isn't real? I don't want it to get me! Father: No, its not, its just a story into keeping children behaving, it can never hurt you, and if we saw something like that, we would protect you. Im sorry, i didn't think it would frighten you that badly, next time ill tell you the story about braum and how he saved a village all by himself! "the child visibly brightens up and calms down while the mother tucks him in" "father sets down smoldering candle at side of child's bed, like a nightlight" "mother and father both walk to and stand in doorway of bedroom" M+F: Goodnight little one (son, daughter, whatever you want it to be), sweet dreams, love you Child: goodnight, i love you both too! "parents leave room and closes door, sounds of them walking into the living room to do something/sit down/clean something" "child is still a little scared, thinking about the story, but then thinks about what his parents said" "suddenly the wind picks up, howling even more, tree branches scraping across window, child visibly uneasy" "a flash of lightning reveals a silhouette of something in-front of the scarecrow, not lasting long enough for a full visual" "child is visibly shocked, and heart starts to beat faster, another flash of lightning and its gone, only the scarecrow watching over the field is there" "child shrugs it off like its nothing and tries to go back to sleep" "suddenly a loud bang is heard, like the wind throwing open the door" "muffled sounds of parents being quite surprised, father getting up to check and close the door" "muffled sounds of someone tripping and falling, plates crashing on the ground" "father speaks in a muffled voice with a panicked tone" What in the world is that?!? "followed by a loud thud and what sounds like something wet splashing something" "sounds of mother screaming, stuttering the words no, no stay away from me! don't get any closer! as another sound of slow, paced walking gets closer to the mothers cries" "mother screams, being suddenly cut off by something, it is now dead silent" "at this point the child is hearing all of this and is terrified, grabbing his stuffed animal on his bed and staring at the door, paralyzed in fear" "sounds of slow, paced walking heading to child's bedroom door" "dead silence as child (and camera) are looking at the door" "Door creeks open, and a dark figure, not able to been fully seen due to candle on child's bed not being fully lit, only lighting up area near child." Child: Mom....Dad? Is that you? "they say quietly, quivering. "Parents speak one at a time , clear as day." Mom: Yes child, its us don't worry. Dad: Everything's ok, you can go back to sleep now. "child looks visibly uneasy, trying to calm down hearing his parents saying its ok, but feeling something is off" Child: I want to go to sleep but im scared again, can you tell me another story? "the footsteps begin to get closer to the child's bed" "mothers voice responds, but in a much rougher, slightly echoed tone" Mother: Its ok my child, nothing will hurt you now. "fathers voice now, even rougher and more echoed, almost like its fake" Father: Yes my child, its ok, you're safe now. "child is starting to panic as he is hearing his parents voice change, almost sounding unreal" "both parents speak in unison now, sounding almost nothing like what they were before, like a voice box almost, in a radio like quallity and ghastly echos" M+F: Don't worry, nothing will happen, because the only thing to fear.... "fiddlesticks shows his gaping, metal maw inches from the child's face and the light, showing that its not his parents, but this monstrosity starting directly at him" fiddlesticks, (still trying to mimic the voices, but failing much harder than what was previously said): Is fear itself. "cut to black while child lets out a scream" "waits 4 seconds of black screen" "suddenly picture comes back, kid bolts awake, sweating and panicked" "we can see outside its morning now, realizing it was just a dream, child hearing parents in other room cooking breakfast" "mother calls to child to come get his food, and, being relieved it was only a dream, leaps from his bed and runs into the other room, while the camera slowly pans out from the window we entered at the beginning, showing the front of the farm in the morning" "something catches your eye before the end, however. The scarecrow that was on the post, is now gone" "you begin to question weather or not what just happened was real indeed, or if it was a trick of the mind" "suddenly loud sound of cawing crows accompanied by said birds rushes the camera, effectively jumpscaring the viewer. "screen turns black, hearing a very faint echo of laughter" "league of legends/riot logo appears" "end of trailer"

I think this would be a really good way to introduce the concept of fiddlesticks being this idea that someone made up to scare kids into behaving, but nobody is sure if its just a story. It leaves you with the suspense of a horror film, tense moments, letting panic set in. You begin to think as if you were the kid, "did i really see something outside the window? Was that just the wind blowing open the door? Did my parents just slip and fall on the rain while checking? Was this all a dream? Was there even any scarecrow outside to begin with? It keeps open the idea of even if hes supposed to be a story, there is a very real possibility that he is real. Not to mention the jumpscare at the end would be a nice touch, keeping with the theme of terror, uncertainty, paranoia, and overall fear. Again, as in my previous post, any input or ideas that can be sent my way would be most grateful, as it would give me more ideas in making these sort of things better, and again, if a rioter happens to see this, id ask you to also put your feedback, and maybe (though i doubt it but here's hoping) You guys would use my concept in the trailer if you haven't already. Id be honored, all id ask is that you'd credit the idea to me, but again i don't want to sound like this namby pamby person only writing it to get your attention, but i truly want to learn more about storytelling, since eventually i want to try to become a storyboard artist for a company, and even something as small as this would really help me. Anyways I've done enough rambling, thank you for reading and giving me your feedback, its much appreciated.

The last part i will write about is also going to be in this same forum, and it will focus on a potential short story, like the ones that come with the bio but are separate, that would expand or flesh out the 'so called fable' that the father was reading when we came into the room. I hope you guys are enjoying this experience, because i know i am. See you in part 3!

**UPDATE: Had to reupload here since previous post was removed for being in the incorrect category, and there wasn't an option to just move posts. **
