I made a new champion. I call him Cavi for lack of a better name.
link to the Drive site I've been working on him for in case you want some of the commentary I stuck by the side and keep in mind the stats and stuff is mostly remedial based on other champions in his similar class and yes I do realise this looks like the ungodly spawn of shaco and jhin but I only used shaco as inspiration and made most of this all before jhin came out.
Name: Cavi, the puppetmaster
Role: hybrid mobile AD brawler or more immobile AP control mage
Backstory: Cavi was a poor street performer from his early days; earning his living dazzling the folks that would pass by his shabby courtyard stages. As he continued to ply his trade, Cavi got better and better until he was playing in the courts of kings and magician alike, using sleight of hand tricks, acrobatic feats, and of course, his puppets; the heart of his act. But his entertainment wasn’t the only reason he’d grown to fame. A masterful infiltrator and thief in his own right, Cavi would travel the lands to pinch items of value or extract guarded information for the right price. This did not earn him many allies - save for the few other haggard travelers he met on the road - and he was constantly on the move, evading pursuit and thwarting betrayals in quick succession. On one such mission, Cavi traveled to a remote island to retrieve an item of great power; a scroll containing a spell to bind one’s very being into objects to control them, and rather than returning it, he decided to use it on his beloved puppets. This did not go over well when he was found out, and hordes of guards and bounty hunters were sent after him. Narrowly escaping death many times with the help of his now animated puppets, Cavi set out to cross the mountains for shurima, where his pursuers surely wouldn’t follow.

Builds description: I’m hoping for him to be able to conform to very different playstyles depending on whether he builds AD or AP, and am trying to use his different skill interactions with his puppets to emphasise it, even hybrid builds could play either way, but wouldn’t be as effective at either for obvious reasons.
His whole damage theme is setting his puppets up in clever ways to trap one or several champs in a barrage of face melting dps when played AP, and bouncing around bedazzling maybe one champ to death and getting out fast when playing as AD.
He will have better base damage and lower AP scalings on his abilities to use his innate utility to scale better with items like liandry’s for puppet hp, burn application, and penetration, with higher damage funneled into the final pull further rewarding extended engagements. And throw in 1 or 2 good AD scaling abilities because we need another mobile fighter assassin with good synergies with Maw, don’t we? Cavi is melee with a range of 150 without puppets, and ranged when holding at least one puppet. Slow base move speed and low base AD are made up for with the puppet’s steroids, and serve to make him feel even more useless without his puppets, but powerful with them.

Skills:
Passive: Cavi carries (3/4/5/6) puppets around with him, increasing at levels (1/5/10/15), and gaining a bonus 10 movespeed, 3% AD , and 65 attack range per puppet that he holds.
Puppets have a base health of 65-250 (scaling on level) plus 50% of his bonus hp and 100% of his resists. They attack dealing 6-25 + (15% AP) and slowing by 10% each hit. Puppet damage is reduced by 50% for each additional puppet that is attacking the same champion beyond the first.
Puppets that go dormant sit on the battlefield, reactivating on some of Cavi’s spells or just after a duration or moving a certain distance away, they will get up and return to him. He can also walk over them to retrieve them manually.
Q:(8/7/6.5/6/5.5/5 Seconds) Cavi throws a puppet out in an arc, with a small aoe on landing. If an enemy is inside the aoe they will be dealt (85/115/145/175/205)(40% AP)(100% Bonus AD), rooting them for 0.75 seconds, and the puppet will land on the opposite side to Cavi, giving chase and attacking for several seconds.
If another puppet is landed directly on the champion, any nearby dormant puppets will jump up and give chase. If the aoe misses, but a champion is still nearby, the puppet will still attempt to chase for several seconds.
W:(17/15/13/11/9 Seconds) Cavi drops all his puppets and transforms himself into one of them, with similar hit rate and stats. Nearby dormant puppets will get up and begin running towards Cavi and the ones currently attacking champions will detach, back off, and run with them. Cavi will gain the puppets’ stats and the puppets’ bonus health scaling is doubled. At the end of the duration, the cooldown begins and Cavi returns to his own form and all puppets remaining alive converge on Cavi, each one healing him for 20-80 increasing by 1% for each 1% hp he is missing
E:(14 Seconds) Cavi winds up for a short time and throws out strings in a cone that grows larger through the channel, pulling in the puppets hit and dealing up to (35/52.5/67.5/82.5/90)(25% AP)(80% Bonus AD) to enemies on the way . Each puppet grabbed deals an additional (70/105/135/165/180)(50% AP)(160% Bonus AD) minimum damage plus (25/40/50/65/90)(20% AP)(15% AD) for each puppet hit beyond the first, including whatever champion they were chasing, and 1 second is refunded of the cooldown for each puppet pulled.
If they are in the central segment of the cone Cavi is either pulled towards them if there is one puppet on them or they are pulled towards him if there are two or more and Cavi gathers up all puppets in an area equal to the cast length of the cone. Puppets cannot be pulled over terrain including temporary terrain, instead, Cavi is pulled to them even if they are not attached to a champion.
R: (160/130/100 Seconds) Cavi sets a large arena stage around him that slows enemies massively as they approach the edges and lasts for 3/5/7 seconds and his basic ability cooldowns are all lowered by an additional 1.5 seconds while he remains on the stage. A new puppet appears to guard on all four sides and will instantly aggro nearby champions, totaling 10 puppets which will stay on the field and interact like the normal puppets for 3 seconds after the stage expires or after Cavi retracts it earlier by casting it again.
If there's a mod (or yknow normal forum-goer) reading this I'd like to know offhand what you think. would you love to see this wholesale in the game or would you add a few tweaks to it?
