Ederoar the Ruined King
Note: I'll be updating this down the road depending on what people think but I'm too freakin' tired to get it all done in one sitting. Have wanted to post this for a while but kept putting it off. Also I'm neither a writer nor someone who balances video games so this may be kinda meh.
Had an idea for a more "heroic" Shadow Isles champion, and I think the guy who more or less screwed everything up might be a good choice. So behold Ederoar- The Ruined King
Roles: Fighter/Tank Top Lane, Jungle or Support Ideally
Some lore: He was the King of the Shadow Isles (dur) which before it became what it is now was a place of beauty but where the "veil" between the world of the living and the dead was thin enough for the occasional undead to enter into. Nothing the king and his people couldn't handle however. It was also home to centaurs, and while the humans and centaurs didn't quite like each other the most violence they had were small skirmishes. Ederoar's wife, who was pregnant, was killed by centaurs in one of these skirmishes. The king, feeling nothing but hate, declared war on the entire centaur race, effectively wiping them out. In his grief he would have given anything to bring his family back, including tearing open the "veil." Someone had to enter the realm of the dead to try to find his wife while mages kept the veil stable. Ederoar felt he was the only one who could do so, and ordered his mages to open the veil. While he was in the realm, a lone centaur attacked the mages interrupting the mages and causing a loss of control on the veil, effectively dooming the Shadow Isles. Most of those on the Shadow Isles were killed almost immediately. A few with strong enough willpower were instead turned to undead, at the cost of most of their minds. Ederoar's been trapped since then, thought dead. He's finally managed to escape and wishes to return the Shadow Isles to their former glory. This does make him an enemy of many other Shadow Isles champions however.
Abilities: (not finished again too sleepy)
Passive: Hail to the King- Ederoar gains a small amount of armor and resist upon getting a kill or assist. The amount is both increased and decreased based on how much gold he would've earned if he got the kill. (about 1 armor/resist per 100 gold) He also gains stacks of Glory of the Shadow Isles as he kills minions and neutral monsters. Upon reaching 50 he gains a small amount of armor and resist. (Small minions < Large minions = small jungle mobs < large jungle mobs < Dragon < Baron Nashor, He doesn't need to get the killing blow on Nashor or Dragon but his team does need to get the kill with him getting an assist on it) He also uses health to use his abilities
Q- Challenge: Skillshot where Ederoar throws his weapon, it ignores minions but if it hits an enemy champion they get rooted for a minor duration and take a small amount of damage, after the root wears off they get slowed. Ederoar then charges to where they were rooted, if he hits them they take a large amount of damage based on his Health and the slow is refreshed. Another champion can take the hit from the charge for much reduced damage and no slow.
W- Wall of the Dead: Ederoar shields himself from so much damage while dealing damage just around him. He also drains life from nearby enemies; the drain from champions is stronger than minions or monsters. It costs more Health than it will shield, but can drain more than that back. Even after/if the shield is broken it'll still drain life for however long was left on the duration but much less healing.
E- Grasping Dead: AoE on the ground similar to Nasus's E or Viktor's W, does damage and slows enemies while also pulling them towards the center (though you can easily walk out of it). If an enemy is still inside the area when it expires it roots them in place. If Ederoar uses Challenge on an enemy rooted this way he instantly charges them dealing damage to all nearby enemies.
R- Protect the Weak: Lasts about 6 seconds. Similar to Maokai's ult except it redirects a portion of damage to Ederoar instead of straight up negating it. Ederoar refuses to die while an ally is within this area. He won't be dropped below 1 Health but will get a debuff that must be gone 3 seconds after Ederoar's ult ends or he will die. The debuff is based on the damage he took that would've killed him. As he ranks Protect the Weak up the cap on the damage is reduced. Passively Increases Ederoar's attack speed per rank.
