[Champion Concept] Xel'Tok, the Herald of Icathia
(NOTE: The below is something to hop on the bandwagon of an AD-based support with caster elements. They basically move obellisks around and use them as empowering structures and stuff. "Why is he AD?" Why is Katarina AP? )
[BASICS] Primary Class: Support Secondary Class: Assassin (Or mage, if mages can be AD.) Preferred play areas/styles: Off-tank caster that can be played as either support or jungler. He uses 'obelisks' as a key portion to his strategy, yet they don't inhibit his ability to go without them.
[LORE]
(Shortened) Xel'Tok is a being originating from the void with a power to summon otherworldly void-twisted obelisks. He has a constant hunger for more beings to join his 'flock'. He corrupts the minds of Runeterrans to fall into his traps; there, they are indulged with the horrors and sights of the void... and its power. They come willingly, or dragged into the void, kicking and screaming, and begging for their soul's safety. In appearance, from the waist up, he appears humanoid, but considerably as large as an Ursine or Minotaur. From below where his waist would be, he appears to be a quadruped - almost like a very twisted version of a Centaur. His entirety is covered in a pseudo-armor of chitinous plates, like most voidborn are. (since i'm garbage at drawing, imagine a purple thing with the upper body of Aatrox, save for the wings, and Urgot at the legs.)
(Detailed) Xel'Tok himself is ignorant as to when he came to be. It is wholly possible of him being an earlier creation of the Void. From his coming-to-be, he has been fascinated by the magic of runes and arcane structures of the Void. Upon entering the mortal realm his first time, he met a mage. Praise spouted from the cloaked mage's mouth as he fell to his knees. He introduced himself as 'Loyau'. This mage eventually summoned other voidborn to assist him in raiding a camp of Shuriman workers. The workers fell as easy prey to the lesser voidborn herds. Xel'Tok struck into a man's chest with one of his pointed legs, and essence began to flood into his veins. He felt it. That rush of power. The mortal's essence and knowledge. All of it became his. He must teach others of power. He must be taught power. To consume it.
In the years afterwards, he began to develop his own power. He summoned those ancient runic obelisks, and began to telepathically entice mortals with the powers and secrets of the void. As he slayed heretics, rebels, and the weak - he felt it. The void demands tribute. Fresh souls and soldiers.
Xel'Tok grew massively in size, and taking mortals from their petty establishments and farms. He brought them to where he was first summoned. He saw the rift, bring his flock towards it. He remembered how they screamed and tried to run. Xel'Tok's brothers and sisters dragged them all down. The loyal gave themselves. They were transformed into his new brothers and sisters, as gift from the void.
Many, even within the gleaming capitol, Shurima itself, noticed the missing and destroyed camps.
Over the Horizon, Xel'Tok saw a towering beast, a mix of human and lion. This may be one of the mighty beings Xel'Tok has heard of, an ascended.
THE VOID DEMANDS TRIBUTE. XEL'TOK DEMANDS TRIBUTE. CONSUME THE TOO STRONG, SLAY THE WEAK, EMBRACE THE LOYAL.
He charge from the settlement to meet the ascended. It donned heavy golden armor. Xel'Tok saw its power, and his thirst, his power rose. He felt the pure power of the void rush in his veins. They did battle, the Ascended drew an excessively large Shuriman sabre, which seemed normal for its size. As Xel charged, he commanded the void with his very hands, raising towering sinister obelisks from his home, along with lesser voidborn. The ascended and Xel'Tok battled for many hours, and Xel took many blows, but so did the ascended. With the pure power of the otherworldly army, he could kill the ascended.
One obelisk was all it truly took. One stray hit. He impaled the towering lion-man. He refused to die, weakly hissing and pulling himself off it. The pure sands were tainted with blood from the voidborn and Xel'Tok. Xel'Tok walked over to the ascended, and raised his chitinous leg. "Your power shall feed not only the void, but me. All shall join my flock, even you." He pierced the lion-man. It sounded as though he was losing all air. Even the air refused him as he became tainted. His essence escaped from the chest wound, being absorbed into Xel'Tok's being.
Xel'Tok rose, bulging with chitinous mass. He was lit with ancient voidborn magic, and heightened power only becoming of an ascended.
He killed it. He absorbed the power of this legendary hero. If an ascended couldn't stop him, what could?
Eventually, he rose his most magnificent obelisks within Icathia, a smaller town. There was also a portal, and his flock began to mainly stay there. He claimed it for the void.
On the day of Shurima's reckoning, he plotted. He chitin, by now, had began to change darker and near a purple-black mix. While his flock was still small, it could not be denied. Even though the politicians and clerics attempted to assure city-dwellers the threat wasn't real. It was.
He gathered the largest of his own armies, and practiced his strongest magic. He was ready to storm the gates of Shurima. He gathered beasts of all 'natures'. Natures that pass for the void, anyway. Just as they began, and the rifts were open, it happened.
Around the same time of the botched ascension ritual, His armies were also struck. They were all incinerated, or fled to the void. Xel'Tok dissipated into the soil. That seemed to be the end. Icathia and other areas held seemed to fall out of their glory due to heroes and vengeful ascended.
Unfortunately, for Runeterra, during Azir's resurrection, beings started to rise. Xel'Tok's essence was discovered by a wandering void cultist.
For the first time in millenias, he was able to grasp his hands, wobble his legs, and feel his magic rush in his veins. While he was housed in another area for his own safety, he regained his magic.
He raised new obelisks, and mortals suddenly dusted off old texts with stories of Xel'Tok, the Herald of Icathia.
The void demands tribute.
[KIT] Passive: Essence of the Void Xel'Tok may build AD, but deals 20% reduced physical damage with basic attacks. But nearby allies gain 3% of his AD per Xel'Tok's level. When he kills, or gains an assist, he gains 1% of the enemy's AD, AP, Magic Resist, and Armor.
SECONDARY PASSIVE - VOID DRAKE _When an Elder Dragon is killed, There is a 70% chance of a 'Void drake' to spawn. If killed, this dragon drops a Glimpse of the Void (same buff rift herald drops). Yet it only lasts for 2 minutes.
Q - Obelisk of Icathia MANA: 35/40/45/50/55 CD: 20 Seconds
Xel'Tok raises an obelisk at a target location, with a wide AoE of 15/20/25/30/35 physical damage. (+50% of his AD) There is also a very small range knockup if cast directly under an enemy's feet, briefly stunning them for 1 second. Allies near the obelisks gain a small health regen bonus, and 1% damage reduction from damage sources that are not towers. -All obelisks have 5 points of ward health when Xel'Tok is not nearby.
W - Prayer of the Abyss MANA: 15/20/25/30/35 CD: 15 Seconds
Obelisks of Icathia unleash AoE slows of 5/7/10/13/20%. If within range, Xel'Tok gains a 5% movespeed increase, and 10% if moving towards an enemy or tower, and a 10% attack speed increase. Allies within Prayer of the Abyss gain 10% attack speed also, but only a 5% movement speed increase. The AoE also deals damage solely on how much AP Xel'Tok has, to a cap of 200.
E - Enraged Charge MANA: 30/40/50/55/60 CD: 20 Seconds
Xel'Tok channels for 0.3 seconds, and charges forward. The max distance he can charge is halved if not originally facing an enemy champion upon casting. Upon striking a champion, they are knocked up and stunned for 0.5/1/1.5/2/2.5 seconds. If an ally champion is hit during the charge, they receive a small shield that lasts for 1 second.
R - FLOCK OF THE VOID! MANA: 200/150/100 CD: 180 Seconds. Unaffected by cooldown reduction.
_Xel'Tok begins to channel for 2 seconds, gaining 5/10/15% damage reduction from all sources. When the channel is complete, he erupts from his stance, gaining a massive increase in size. All obelisks, and Xel'Tok gain a stacking AoE effect that gives a 5% total damage increase to allies. This AoE also disables his passive. This effect lasts a total of 20 seconds. If an enemy is killed, he gains a secondary buff. 'Spiral' obelisks will erupt ONCE on nearby enemy champions. These Spiral Obelisks instantly knock up enemy champions upon being struck. They can only deal 50% of the effects of normal obelisks, yet the damage done by eruption is 150%. Xel'Tok will also glow a deep purple. If right-clicked by an ally champion twice, the ally loses 50% of their AP, AD, Armor, and Magic resist, giving it to Xel'Tok. This debuff/buff(to xel) can not happen twice with one ultimate. _ -Xel'Tok gains a different VO with more violent undertones and savage lines with greedy thoughts of power. He also changes his main color pallete to dark grey and and dark red, instead of very dark purple and light indigo. (i have regrets about writing this OP and not-so-OP mess. i'm still going to include it 'cause its cool as hell to me)
VO: Possible voice interractions. (Personally for a voice i'd imagine a mix of Aurelion Sol and Xerath.)
Upon being selected in champion select: "Why decimate a world when it can simply add to your flock?"
Upon starting a game: <Sniffing.> "Smells like a fine start..." "Even after a millenia, the brightness still singes my eyes.."
Upon starting a game against enemy Ascended: "I sense more Ascended. More to consume... -er, Yes! It's.. for the void, not me... <lower> that'd be silly. pfft." "Ah. Ascended. Lovely."
Upon buying:
or
"A fine piece.."
"Reminds me of home. Yet I don't know what its power could bring me.."
"The abyss looks wonderful this time of year. You'd like it. Runes and such, y'know?"
"Looks Shuriman. Reminds me of the gold ol' days."
<His VO briefly is similar to the one resembling the VO while under FLOCK OF THE VOID! status effects.> "Getting closer..."
"Gold was never really my thing."
"Aaaah... This reminds me of something long ago. It was a good day. Ascended tastes pretty bland, but its rewarding.
or
"Do I not already have one of these?"
"Redundant to by magical items, when one can wield magic themselves. Why am I buying this?"
Upon buying any form of boots:
<Sound of something ripping or breaking.> "Good thing I have redundant-shoe-insurance."
"This doesn't seem very.. applicable.. for my form. Into the little baggie it goes."
"Yes, yes, let the giant otherworldly creature attempt to put on your dingy old boots on. What could go wrong?"
<Sound of ripping> " 'Buy boots,' they said, 'they won't break from your massive pointy legs' they said."
"Part of me knows I've seen more odd beings."
"When you stare into the hat, it stares back... and says, 'Why are you looking inside me? A rabbit isn't going to come out.' "
"One man's omen, another man's insurance."
"The little ones are adorable."
"This one definitely reminds me of home."
"Fashion police?"
"My kind generally prefer armor over weight. This seems the latter."
"It is funny when they die swinging at you."
or
"It's all fun and games until someone goes hunting."
"A fine weapon."
/
/
"Many at once."
"This will be fun."
"A classic."
"Tons of damage."
"A side for each sin."
[TAUNTS]

<Ally> "Our collaboration will bring this world to its knees."
<Ally> "Let's spread our faith."
In reply to taunts: "Your taunts certainly hurt more than your attacks. And your taunts are trash."
