Ideas for the Yorick Rework
As many of us know, Yorick is going to be reworked (likely) sometime in this season, and I thought I would give an idea for how he could be remade into a fun, versatile, and unique champion that at the same time isn't completely overloaded like other champions. So lets get right into it:
Passive: Early Revival - All respawning units, including jungle monsters, Dragon, and Baron have their respawn time lowered by 33%, not including their first spawn (applies for both teams). Champions also have 5% reduced respawn on Yorick's team.
Q: Summon: Ghoul - Based on where this ability is cast, Yorick can spawn in one of three ghouls. Mana cost: 35. Cooldown: 7/6/5/4/3 seconds
If cast on an any location unit: Spawns in a Ravenous Ghoul at the target location which has 150/225/300/375/450 health and deals 30/45/60/75/90(+30% Bonus AD) Physical damage. It has 20% lifesteal and lasts up to 8 seconds.
If cast on an enemy unit: Spawns in a Ram Ghoul at Yorick's location that charges towards an enemy at 600 movement speed and explodes when it reaches them, instantly killing it dealing 60/90/120/150/180(+50% AP) magic damage as well as slightly displacing all enemies hit away from the blast. It has 70/100/130/160/190 health but regenerates health rapidly at 50 per second. Lasts up to 4 seconds.
If cast on Yorick: Spawns in a Glutton Ghoul at Yorick's location which deals 20/25/30/35/40 physical damage but has 300/450/600/750/900(+20% of Yorick's Maximum Health) Health. It lasts up to 15 seconds
W: Undead Warrior - Summons an Undead Warrior which follows Yorick and has 15/20/25/30/35% of ALL of Yorick's stats (including on hit effects) except for movement speed, which scales at 90/95/100/105/110%. It can be recast to move the warrior in a target direction, or attack a unit. The ability's cooldown starts after the Undead Warrior is killed. Mana cost: 60/90/120. Cooldown: 33/22/11 seconds
E: Grave Digger - Digs a grave at the target location with 1000/1125/1250/1375/1500 health. A Grave will periodically, every 20 seconds spawn a revenant minion wave that moves to the nearest lane, consisting of two melee and two caster minions that have 50(+5% AP)% of the current minion's stats. Up to two Grave Charges can be stored at once, one being gained every 90/70/50 seconds. A grave lasts 60/80/100 seconds. Mana Cost: 150. Turrets one hit all graves.
**R: Revenant's Revenge **- A global ultimate that when cast, will cause any allied champions within 10 seconds that die to revive temporarily for 3/4/5(+0.5% AP) seconds. Health Cost: 25% of Yorick's current health. Mana Cost: 50. Cooldown: 100/85/70 seconds.
*All ghouls except for the Glutton ghoul prioritize champions. The Glutton ghoul attacks the nearest enemy unit.
Statements or Opinions of Suggested Ideas: I find this idea to make Yorick very diverse, as you can build him AD for a better Ravenous Ghoul/ Undead Warrior, build AP for a better Ram Ghoul, Grave, and Ult (which don't have very high scalings), build slightly tanky for a better Glutton Ghoul, or just build hybrid. His reworked kit idea may seem a little overloaded at first, but at second glance has lots of steps to prevent that kind of unhealthy gameplay. Yorick's Q has many different ghouls, but with a shared cooldown so you only cast one at a time. It also has scalings that make only certain types of ghouls effective with certain builds. Yorick's other abilities, all have higher cooldowns and mana costs, which mean they, while still being effective, can't be easily combined into deadly instakill combos. Finally, Yorick's kit promotes fun and unique play in many roles. His Passive and W make him better at jungling. His E and Q sustain make hiim a good top laner/ split pusher. His Q, E, and R provide for opportunities as a support. Finally, his ult gives him huge global map presence for teamfighting and his Ram ghoul can act as a teamfight en/disengage. Yorick also still has a similar feel to his old kit, because he still has ghouls and a temporary revival ult, while also adding a twisted fate-esk feel to the ghouls and a global presence to the ult.
Items that may/may not work well: Banner of Command and ZZrot both will be great items for a rework yorick due to their synergy with his E. Muramana will still remain a core item for AD Yorick, due to his W applying on hit effects and high mana costs. Items with active abilities will become important due to Yorick's high cooldowns, but raw stats are also needed for many of his abilities, thus granting the choice as to which Yorick should build.
