Charon, the Ferryman of the Blessed Isles [Champion Concept]
For the CCOS http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/mvzIUqHs-ccos-october-ccos-entry-time-enter-here
Well, its been a while since I last posted a concept. I spent a lot of time thinking and now I have a few concepts in the bank ready to deploy. This is my first in a while, and his name is Charon, a unique disruptive support focusing on controlling the positioning of enemies and his allies much like the ferryman of the dead. (also Charon is coincidentally and conveniently an anagram for Anchor yey!)

#OVERVIEW:
Charon is a versatile and unconventional support, who focuses on controlling the formation of enemies and keeping allies close to him in order to charge into a fight with them, while making sure that if he dies, he can still keep his allies in the fight.
#ABILITIES:
Passive- Lanterns of the Blue Flame: Every time Charon successfully lands a skill, he lights one of his Death Lanterns. Charon can alight up to 5 Lanterns. Upon death, Charon releases the flame from his lanterns, healing all nearby allies for 15/20/25/30/35 (based on level) (+1% of Maximum Health) health per lantern lit upon death. Lanterns start going out while out of combat.
Q- Staggered Shadow: Charon fires one of his lanterns in a line which attaches itself to the first champion struck, slowing the target by 20%, decaying over 2.5 seconds, and all enemies within the detonation radius . The mark detonates after 2.5 seconds, dealing 40/75/110/145/180 (+50% AP) to the enemy and nearby minions. If the target is within range of an Anchor or any champion, the mark instead roots all nearby enemies for 1.25 seconds, while dealing 40/80/120/180/220 (+50% AP) instead. Landing the skill lights one lantern, and detonating it lights another. (9/8.5/8/7.5/7 sec cooldown) (850 Range) (60/65/70/75/80 Mana)
W- Deathplunge Anchor: Charon calls down his anchor at a target location, plunging down onto an area with dark force dealing 60/90/120/150/180 (+40% AP) magic damage to all nearby enemies and remaining there for 4 seconds. Enemies who remain or come near the anchor are tethered to it by soul chains. Remaining within the radius for over 2 seconds pulls the enemies 200/225/250/275/300 units toward the anchor's location. (16/15/14/13/12 sec cooldown) (1100 Range) (400 Tether Range, from anchor) (50/60/70/80/90 Mana)
E- Dark Flame: PASSIVE: Each alighted lantern causes Charon autoattacks to deal 4/7/10/13/16 bonus magic damage. Every time a lantern is lit, Charon reduces the cooldown of his abilities by 1 second. ACTIVE: Sends a wave of spirit flame forth, igniting enemies and anchors it contacts. Enemies and anchors are marked with Dark Flame, with enemies burning for 10/12/14/16/18% of their missing health (minimum 50/90/130/170/210) (+40% AP) over 3 seconds. Allies gain 45 movement speed moving toward units marked with Dark Flame. (15/14/13/12/11 cooldown) (900 Range)
R- Ferryman's Breakwater: PASSIVE: Allies below 50% health nearby Charon gain Ferryman's Grasp, giving up to 20% movement speed moving toward him, ramping up over 2 seconds. ACTIVE: Charon channels for up to 4 seconds, calling upon the waves of the black mist. Upon reactivation, Charon creates a building wave of mist, which travels toward a location, picking up all allies that come in contact with it, while triggering Anchors and slowing enemies that come in contact with it by 50% for 2.5 seconds, also grounding them for the same duration. All allies are released from the wave when it ends by reaching the targeted location or when reactivated to cancel. (130/115/100 sec cooldown) (1500 Range) (100/100/100 Mana)
#LORE:
Charon was once a noble ferryman tasked with bringing the desperate across the breakwaters of Bilgewater. Now a specter of his former self, Charon tries to find purpose after falling victim to a legend long forgotten... "Be prepared brave hero as not all stories end happily... This is a tale of loss and misfortune, with little redeeming aspect or bravado, a tale of a lost ferryman slain by the pirates of yonder." "A family man, was he, as his occupation needed him to be. Charon sailed the outskirts of the Bilgewater Islands hoping to seek out any lost stragglers or people on offshore docks, who could not afford to ride on the larger ships, needing safe passage through the treacherous, abyssal breakwaters between the Shadow Isles and Bilgewater. Every night, at the brink of dusk, the ferryman would sail home to a small, but rigid hut on the edge of Buhru. While Charon was a family man, that part was tangibly lacking. Charon gained two things from his generosity- small donations of gold and companionship. The ferryman always said the same thing when asked why he does what he does- "A cold, vast ocean is lonely, but an empty, stone hut, void of humanity is even lonelier." These rides were convenient, a mutual benefit of both ferryman and customer. The noise of surprisingly joyous conversation would break the silence of the surrounding sea often, helping to ease nerves for both parties, especially when in a rocking dinghy, crossing dangerously close to the outskirts of the Shadow Isles. For Charon, these rides with people were the highlight of his day. A fateful morning, Charon rode across ports and docks hoping to pick up people in need, no different from any other day. A man, and a woman, stepped into his boat, and off they sailed, toward Bilgewater's main city port. Charon's voice, stern but humorous, spoke to the couple as they sat in the boat. They replied. Once again, conversation broke out. But there was no silence this time. In the distance, chaos. The Black Mist had come early this year, and Charon had sailed right into it. The mist hurtled toward the small, insignificant boat as a churning, dark mass, as a ghostly ship emerged from it, the once-steel hull, crashing into the side of the dinghy, tossing the couple and Charon into the depths as the spectral chanting of once-pirates could be heard from above. Suddenly, Charon was pulled up, the mist engulfing his body as he rose into the air. A single anchor, coiled around him, half-strangling the ferryman before he was thrown onto the former deck of what would have been a pirate ship. The ferryman looked up to see the half rotten faces of ghost pirates. Cringing in disgust, yet cowering in fear, Charon was still. The pirates continued their half-wail, half-chant as a captain rose from below the deck. 'We can use this one ey'?', the captain heartily chuckled. The other pirates grunted in agreement, their faces wavering as skin moved over flesh. 'We've just 'saved' you from the Black Mist. What 'ave ya' got to say 'bout that?' the captain continued. Charon was still, well, still. 'You are now a band of mine motley crew! Ain't that grand! We could use a ferryman like you, seeking out the desperate, and bringing them back, to me, to join the crew. Hey, and most importantly, to join you.' Charon realized what this pirate captain knew. His face stared into the ferryman's soul, and he knew what he wanted most. 'When you join me 'eh, you'll never be alone again. You'll be surrounded by us, and most importantly, the people you bring to me." Charon began to see that he and this captain were similar in wanting companionship and using a boat as a means to do so. Overwhelmed by his surroundings and his predicament, Charon agreed, but whether because of true desire or simply because of fear, is something that I'll never know. Over time, Charon's body decayed, and he became a part of the denizens of the Black Mist. Around these areas, he is known as the Ferryman of the Blessed isles. Transformed and twisted, Charon seeks out the desperate, offering rides, and covering his appearance with the mask of an owl. Unbeknownst to his customers, he takes them to the ghostly ship, still commandeered by the captain. You see, this noble man, not deserving of such a fate, was corrupted and slaved by an unfortunate event. Now undying and committed to his task, none shall escape, the Ferryman's grasp...
