**Lazarus, the Mechanical Visionary ** **Lore: **

Lazarus was first found as a young child by the College of Techmaturgy in Zaun, the strange boy having somehow found his way into the campus laboratories where he began to tinker. Impressed by his affinity at such a young age, the college took him. His age, coupled with his odd, hyper logical demeanor did him no favors in acquiring friends. The one exception was the inventor Viktor, who he formed a friendship with. When the credit for creating Blitzcrank was stolen from him, and Viktor retreated into seclusion, Lazarus began to think. Viktor strove for recognition, that was his purpose, but what was Lazarus'?

Deciding he would not find the answers he sought in Zaun, he left the College. The guards attempted to bar his way and even appealed to his sense of duty. The College had taken him in and provided for him, surely he owed them his allegiance. He simply responded, "They had no obligation to help me, and I have no obligation to serve them." He set one of his creations upon them and left a bloody swath in his wake as he left Zaun.

Months later, following its reputation, Lazarus arrived at the Yordle Academy of Science and Progress. It didn't take long for his talents to earn him a place among the students of the revered Cecil B. Heimerdinger. He learned much to enhance his technological prowess while working with the famous inventor, but what he found most interesting was what he learned from the people in the Academy. In Zaun, the students and faculty had strived for recognition, but in the academy, they seemed to be working towards progress. Lazarus began to develop his own interpretation: Progress was the use of technology to better the lives of the world.

This got him to think about the world at large; about its constant wars and squabbles. The city-states and clans of Valoran had fought each other since before any could remember, and left to their own devices they would continue to fight for far longer. He made up his mind. If his purpose was to work towards Progress, and the intent of progress was to better the lives of Valoran, then there was only one course of action.

Once more, he left his adoptive home and set out into the world. Years passed without word from the odd boy, until one day, as the armies of Noxus and Demacia met for yet another skirmish, he appeared on a rocky outcrop overlooking the battlefield, at the head of an army of mechanical monstrosities. The people of Valoran only knew War and conflict. So Lazarus would use that same medium to bring about a better future.

The War to end all Wars had begun.

"I will not mourn your deaths. Logic dictates that your sacrifice is needed for the future I envision." Lazarus

**Champion: **

Lazarus is a brilliant inventor that relies on his many construct creations to win the war for him.

Abilities:

(Passive) Devious Ingenuity: Lazarus does not use mana. Instead, he uses Spare Parts to fuel the creation of his Contrusts. At level 1, he can have a maximum of 100 Spare Parts, which he gains at a rate of 1 per second. He also gains Spare Parts when he kills a unit, and when his constructs are destroyed, they leave behind a cache of parts he can collect within 5 seconds.

While a Construct is near Lazarus, they regain health at a rate of 5 health per 5 seconds + 5 health per 50 Spare Parts Lazarus currently has.

In place of leveling up an ability, Lazarus may choose to level up this passive. A new rank is available at levels 6 and 11.

Spare Parts gained every second: 1 / 3 / 5

Maximum Spare Parts: 100 / 150 / 200

Parts gained per kill: 5 / 7 / 10 (Champion Kills: 15 / 25 / 35)

Parts gained from collected wrecks: 10 / 20 / 30

(Q) Construct Seeker: Lazarus creates a Seeker Construct and has it charge in a straight line, dealing 50 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 (+30% Ability Power) magic damage to the first unit it strikes. After striking and enemy, or travelling its maximum distance, the Seeker Construct acts like a minion, moving towards the nearest lane if no enemies are nearby. The Seeker Construct will prioritize champions to attack. This skill can have a maximum or 4 ranks, and the Construct gains the following abilities:

Rank 1-4: Seekers will chase the first champion they damage until they die.
Rank 3-4: Every third consecutive attack against a champion will stun the champion for .25 seconds.
Rank 4: The cost and cooldown of Construct Seeker is cut in half.

Cost: 50 Spare Parts (25 at rank 4) Cooldown: 6 Seconds (3 at rank 4)

(W) Construct Defender: Lazarus creates a Defender Construct and has it drop into target area after a short delay, damaging enemies where it lands for 70 / 125 / 180 / 235 / 295 (+ 65% Ability Power) Magic Damage. After dropping, the Defender Construct acts like a minion, moving towards the nearest lane if no enemies are nearby. This skill can have a maximum of 4 ranks, and the Construct gains the following abilities:

Rank 1-4: The Defender Construct spawns with a shield that absorbs the first turret or champion basic attack against it.
Rank 3-4: The Defender will restore its shield 10 seconds after being broken.
Rank 4: While the barrier is active, the construct takes reduced damage from minions and champion abilities.

      Cost: 50 Spare Parts Cooldown: 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 seconds

(E) Construct Supporter: Lazarus creates a Support Construct to aid target ally, granting them a shield absorbing 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 (+50% Ability Power) for 4 seconds. The Support Construct will then follow the target, attacking enemies that attack it target. Only one Support Construct can be active at a time. This skill can have a maximum of 4 ranks, and the Construct gains the following abilities:

Rank 1-4: The Support Construct grants temporary vision of the enemies it attacks.
Rank 3-4: The Support Construct recasts the shield on its target 5 seconds after the shield is removed.
Rank 4: Every 30 seconds, the Support Construct will spawn a shadow in a random location in a large area around it that will randomly patrol the area and grant vision for 5 seconds.

    Cost: 75 Spare Parts Cooldown: 16 / 15.5 / 15 / 14.5 / 14 Seconds

(R) Construct Artillery: Lazarus creates and Artillery Construct at his side that fires a Charged Blast at target unit or structure. After firing, the Artillery Construct acts like a normal minion, moving to the nearest lane if no enemies are nearby. The Artillery Construct prioritizes structures as its attack targets. This skill can have a maximum of 4 ranks, and the Construct gains the following abilities:

Rank 1-4: Every 6 seconds, the Artillery Construct will fire its Charged Blast at its current target.
Rank 3-4: The Artillery Construct shoots an additional nearby enemy with each attack.
Rank 4: The Artillery Construct's Charged Blast deals damage in an area around its target.

    Cost: 75 Spare Parts Cooldown: 25 / 24 / 23 / 22 / 21 Charged Blast: 40 / 60 / 80 / 105 / 130 (+60% Ability Power)

Role and Strategies:

Lazarus' role on a team is to take objectives. Towers, Inhibitors, Dragon, Baron, he excels at placing pressure on the map. In combat, he relies on the initial effects of his abilities to aid the team. His Constructs are powerful, but not particularly resilient, and they rely on being alive for long periods of time to provide him with value. Unlike most champions, he does not have an Ultimate ability, so while he has a large array of options available to him often, he does not have an ability that can quickly turn things around. Special thought needs to be paid to how important healing your existing construct is. By stockpiling Spare Parts, he can allow his minions to heal at an impressive rate, but the cost is not placing more out on the map.

Countering Lazarus relies on denying him resources. His abilities are expensive and he relies on last hitting minions to gain Spare Parts, as without it his resource returns to him at a very slow rate. Killing his constructs denies him from gaining the full worth of his abilities, as their costs are quite high, and denying him collecting the parts left from a defeated construct slows down his ability to create threats considerably.

I quite like this idea and I believe that he would completely awesome with Heimerdonger.

Here are a few other champions I have created in the past if it interests anyone.

Braize, the Valoran Catastrophe Ciprian, the Pied Piper of Summoner's Rift

I've actually been playing alot of the donger recently. So with that inspiration (as well as some help from the recent Mercenary mode and copious amounts of the EGGMAN theme from SA2) Lazarus was born.

Just a thought: should he start with 100 Spare Parts or none? or somewhere inbetween?

I finally got around to making the stats on Lazarus' Constructs. They may need tweaking. Please keep in mind that while the Constructs do not go away until killed, he cannot spam them as he only has so many spare parts to spend at a given time. As always, thoughts and suggestions on balance are welcome.
