Skin Concept - Skin Attributes

Wouldnt it be cool if each skin was more personalized. People that play on riot games spend good money for their skins, however the money is spent simply on cosmetics and doesnt give the player an advantage to owning a skin. Thus what is the oint of purchasing a skin except for the fact that you will look good. So skin sales are mediocre at best. I heard one player say why spend money on skins it doesnt make you any better at the game. The answer is simple. Why not give attribute bonuses for skins. It would promote skin sales and give people a reason for owning a skin. What do you do about the skins that dont sell well you ask. Give them attribute bonuses that boost a certain players build. The bonuses would just be minor bonuses like the ones that runes provide. Like +5 AD and +5 armor or +3% increased damage and +5 magic resist. There would be 1 attribute bonus for 975 or less skins 2 attribute bonuses for the 1350 skins 3 attribute bonuses for the 1820 skins and 5 attribute bonuses for the 3250 skins. It would involve going back and adding the bonuses to all the current skins plus coming out with all future skins having the attribute bonuses. The only skins that would not have the bonuses is classic skins. This would promote skin sales plus making sure that you get the skin that goes with one of your builds(sought out skin). If you get bonuses for your skins the players that were avoiding cosmetic upgrades to their champion will purchase skins to upgrade the effectiveness of their champion with a certain skin. The bonuses and number of bonuses will vary skin to skin but any skin will offer at least a litlle more protection. Also the idea of the bonuses is not to run away with the game but to give your champion a slight edge for purchasing a skin for that champion. Thus people will want skins for all the champions that they main.

Yeah heres an idea lets just take Riot's extremely well done and fair Free to play System that has been considered the best example of a true "FREE TO PLAY" game and just turn it into every other "free" pay to win game.

If Riot did this they would get so much backlash and lose so much of their fan base they instantly get rid of it.

This would turn League into Pay2Win. you obviously don't know play the game competitively and if you do you would know that would be a mistake.

Once again if yous are reading the posts its not about paying to win its about rewarding people for purchasing skins. Your not paying them for 20AD where noone can compete your just receiving a small inadequate boost. your not paying to win because in actuallity runes giv e bigger boosts and a player with a good rune list will take down someone with a certain skin every time. The skins do not win games just give a player a small inadequate boost that barely contributes to their effectiveness on the battlefield. Runes give much more bigger boosts then these skins would the only place you would notice the difference is if you had a legendary skin or legendary themed skin there would be enough boosts to notice a small difference. However the main contribution to early game would still come from runes and masteries. The skins couldnt possibly offer enough atttribute bonuses to make much of a difference so once again your not paying to win your just paying for a little help where you might need it. Out of ten times ten times the person wtih bettter runes and masteries will win the takedown. If its really close down to the wire though the person with the skin might have the advantage. The bonuses are practically negligible. If you have a skin and I buy a short sword first. Ill actually have 5 more AD then you will because you spent your money on health potions instead. Note: Short Sword is +10 AD

For one if the game is free to play how do you expect the company to generate revenues you smust be kids tha tcant afford to spend money on the game. For one if the company doesnt generate revenues it cant pay its programmers and employees and will bankrupt. People should be rewarded for paying the employees salaries without incentives the consumers will just save their money. If the company wants to keep operating it needs revenues skin attributes will even allow them to sell skins that noone wants because it would have attributes that would allow the gamer to benefit from it.

People buy skins for personalization anyway, they change how a character looks, and even the entire mood sometimes, doing this would be horrible, as Pay2Win and all that, but you'd also get everyone using the EXACT SAME SKIN

The idea is not give the player an advantage just a little boost. Players with skins would not be better players the boosts offered are inadequate to a non-skilled player. The idea is that it personalized the skins. Like what would a +5 AD skin do if your runes give you +8. Its not that the skin will make the player better i.e. runes its that the player would have some bonus for purchasing their skins. To look at it from riots point of view they would get mass promotion on skin sales and be able to offer larger purses to people weather they are paying for skins or not. The boosts are small and inadequate but if you are going with an AD build then +5 AD will help a small mediocre amount. If you are going with +5 armor penetration then it would add up in your armor penetration build. Every skin would offer different attributes meaning it would help certain builds a small finite amount. Its not suppose to make non-cashers inadequate i.e +20 AD its just suppose to reward them for contributing to the sales of skins which allow players from the general public to keep competing. It may be a free to play game but rest assured this company spends millions trying to provide you members of the general public with a game that is free to play. So in closing the boosts are not suppose to win games. The boosts are just suppose to reward players for purchasing those skins.(+5 AD doesnt do alot when they have 500 health)
