Proposed Changes To Illaoi
Illaoi is, as of about a month ago, my favorite champion to play, she's super fun and i love how her kit works. There are some things that i feel didn't turn out how they were supposed to or just don't make much sense gameplay wise and should probably get changed. And considering how many balance changes they've given her so far i'm fairly sure they will give her plenty more in the future, most likely in her R or her E but since it's really hard to change her E without completely changing her i doubt we will see a change in it.
However i do propose a new ability that it would be cool to put on either her E or her R and would make her role much more apparent as well as making sense thematically.
Un-named Skill: Illaoi calls upon the power of her God, growing tentacles that cover her arms.
These tentacles replace her auto attacks with "Slam" causing her to treat every auto attack as a tentacle smash for a short time and gaining attack speed. During this time her W has a 2 second cool down and when she uses it she will leap into the air slamming both tentacles on to the ground in front of her. Using her Q or E does not interfere with her auto attacks during this time(she uses one tentacle to use her Q or E and auto attacks with the other).
If this were on her E of course there would be some major changes but if on her R i think it would be a bit more fair than her current one and actually make her not useless while not near tentacles(she isn't anyway but this will solidify it and make her a tad bit more useful) in addition she wouldn't just have that one Niche were she runs in 1v5 and ults to get 7 tentacles, instead she'd have to combo her skills correctly and she could actually be more of a bruiser. She doesn't work well as a flat out tank but building her bruiser and playing her like one works much better and this would probably sinergize better with that play style that many illaoi mains have since adopted.
