Lore: Before she was named A-ma by the folks in her city, her name was more easily known as Edith. Edith grew up among a caravan of boats and rules. They were river gypsies that came and went, never attacking, only selling and providing entertainment. Edith was oblivious to the distaste others looked upon her with, and studied with her father how to run his casino. He wanted her to grow into his shoes and fill his empty position when he died. Unfortunately this did not sit well with Edith. Rather than filling out papers full of numbers, she preferred to play the cards. She always used what little money she managed to sucker from her father to gamble, only to lose it all. Eventually as she got older, she got better, and ended up working as a dealer to curb her gambling tendencies. She worked happily as a dealer for many years, even having a few children of her own. Her father replaced his successor with her cousin, who wrinkled his nose when he looked at her. She was no longer beautiful or young, which attracted all of the customers. He was waiting for her father to leave to fire her, and she was prepared for it. Before she was ready, her eldest son, Tobias had broken the rules of the caravan. Against the elder’s wishes, he retaliated angrily against those who had spoken poorly of her family. She watched helplessly as he was sent off to live alone in Bilgewater, and could only hope what she had taught him saved his life. Wretched with grief at the loss of her young boy, her father and cousin agreed to suspend her. By the look on her cousin’s face, she wasn’t coming back. While wallowing in self-pity, she gambled away her money on her own father’s casino. Her children were old enough to care for her but they resented her for sending away their brother. She chose to leave the caravan in search of him, to beg for forgiveness, and say she would’ve brought the whole family if she wasn’t so afraid of leaving, only to find herself lost in the enormous city of bilgewater. She’d see glimpses of what sounded like him, she’d see him around the corners, but he was never there. Barely staying alive by gambling what little money she had with what she knew, she tried listening for rumours of a boy with swagger by the name of Twisted Fate. Eventually it led her to hearing about the casino by the shadow isles, perhaps by imagination, perhaps the defeat and weariness of her body resonated with the shadow isles, and they whispered to her. Rumours of gambling more than just money, gambling for infallible things like eyesight, youth, immortality... With one last hope of finding her gambling heavy son, she took a boat to the mist of the shadow isles. She found a creaky casino that reminded her of her father’s casino, except she was much younger and people stared at her. She felt a boost of morale and began playing. It started off with just money. Greed in her eyes when she won, and the losses were inconsequential. People gathered around her to admire how great she was at gambling. Eventually her gambler fellows started gambling things like sight in an eyeball, hearing in one ear, a strong leg... she thought nothing of it, so drunk on attention and alcohol. Every time they gambled a body part she found herself getting stronger when she won. She’d gamble something of her own too, equally valuable. A few fingers, a leg, an eye, and finally she chose to fight the dealer and say she wanted youth. She wanted immortality. She wanted riches beyond belief. She wanted her family together, her son back. But the consequence was her soul, and when she lost she found herself back in the mist. She was back on her boat. Nothing had happened. In anguish and despair she cried, but only to find her eyes were stronger. She stood to find her legs stronger, her hands more dexterous... who knew how many people she had beaten? She felt as though she could bend metal with her arms. She jumped to find strength not her own, and senses more enhanced than ever. In the water mirror, she was still old, but she was stronger than ever. Returning to bilgewater, she knew she only had limited years left of her life before her soul was taken by the shadow isles forever.

with how you described the stack interaction, I feel 2mins is too much
