Immediately north of the central island of the Shadow Isles lies a small, uninhabited patch of swamp in the middle of the sea.

Well, that's what most people believe. There are only a handful of those who know otherwise who are still alive.

That speck of swamp once held great magic, sourced from the world rune fragment at its center, and in better times this allowed its salty waters to support a vast ecosystem, as well as a small village with hanging gardens famed in its day.

Then the ruination came.

The blight killed anyone it came for, and it came for everyone. Everyone, that is, except Grunlon. By stealing the world rune fragment in the center of her island, she was able to muster the power to prevent the black mist from taking her body, becoming near immortal in the process. Though her body was now undying and she would never fully succumb to the mist, her mind remained that of a weak mortal, and she was driven completely insane after mere days.

Now, only she remains. Her body and ravaged by time and the corruption in the land around her, Grunlon's is kept alive by the power of the world rune fragment, though her mind has long since faded into that of a feral beast... one with the power of gods at her fingertips.

Through the magic of the world rune, her soul has become entwined with the land she once called home, allowing her to call on its power.

Appearance

Grunlon is a withered, gangreous, atrophied old woman caked in mud, her eyes sunken deep into their sockets, her teeth grey and jagged. One would almost call her a walking corpse, only she's definitely still alive. She wears the grey, tattered remains of a once elegant dress, her island's world rune fragment embedded in her left hand, causing her left arm to crackle with bright turquoise energy, which keeps a bank of black mist at bay.

Playstyle

Grunlon is a fiercy territorial beast, and anyone who dares intrude on her swamp will have their strength stripped away by the swamp before the witch tears their flesh away. She is not great at aggressively making plays under normal circumstances, but the moment an enemy steps into her territory, they are prime targets for Grunlon's wrath. Though she starts the game exceedingly frail, she can become enough of a threat come late game to rip the competition to shreds. Her enemies would be wise to avoid the swamp, but she leaves them little choice.

Abilities

Passive: Witch of the Mires

Grunlon passively seeps black mist and runic energy behind her that seeps into the ground, causing Swampland to form in a 300 radius of her wake, lasting for 60/90/120 seconds. If Grunlon is not standing in Swampland, it takes 5 seconds for the her wake to become Swampland. Standing in Swampland causes it to expand, up to a 900 unit radius from Grunlon is she stands there for 8 seconds.

Enemies standing in Swampland have their strength sapped away, causing the following stats to be stolen from them and given to Grunlon

  • 15/20/25 movement speed. Returned 3 seconds after leaving Swampland.
  • Maximum HP is reduced by 5/10/15 for every second they remain in Swampland, added to both Grunlon's current and maximum HP. If these stats are returned, Grunlon's max HP is reduced, but her current HP is unchanged.
  • Armor is reduced by 1/1.5/2 or 1/1.5/2% (whichever value is greater) for every second they remain in Swampland. Cannot reduce armor below 0.
  • Attack Damage is reduced by 1 for every second they remain in Swampland.

Minions are effected in full, but Grunlon only gains a tenth of the stats she would normally gain from them. Units regain their stolen stats over 5 seconds when they leave the Swampland. Units who die in Swampland will cause Grunlon to retain their stolen stats permanently (though they will regain them upon respawning).

Grunlon only has access to stats related to Swampland while she stands in it.

Q: Fetid Curse 22 second CD

Curse a target enemy (550 range) for 3 seconds, causing them to take 30/50/70/90/110 (+.15 AP) magic damage per second, having their movement and attack speed slowed by 50% for the duration.

Cursed enemies will leave a trail of mist that creates a 150 unit wide path of Swampland after a 3 second delay.

If they are standing in Swampland when the curse would normally end, it begins slowing them by 75% and continues damaging them until they leave Swampland.

W: Cannibalism 30 second CD

Your next basic attack against a champion causes you to pin them down, immobilizing them (they can still attack and cast, they just can't move, use movement abilities, or channel). Grunlon attacks once per half second, dealing (100% AD) plus 4% their maximum health as magic damage, healing an equal amount. The target can be pinned for up to 1.5/1.75/2/2.25/2.5 seconds, but Grunlon can be pried off them if she is stunned.

If the target drops below 6/7/8/9/10% health, Grunlon will deal a final blow that deals true damage equal to their current HP (not including shields).

E: Ripple 16 second CD

Passive: enemy champions in Swampland are revealed for 2.5s if they move.

Active: Only usable while in Swampland. Sink into the mud for up to 2.5 seconds before reappearing at the location of your cursor. You can only reappear at a distance of up to 250/275/300/325/350 units from where you were or from the location of an enemy champion revealed by Ripple.

R: Feral Rush 0s CD Passive: If an enemy champion dies in Swampland, gain a cast of Feral Rush. You can store 1/2/2 at a time.

So long as you are below 30% health, Feral Rush can be manually activated. Upon being taken to 1 HP, this will activate automatically. The CD of Feral Rush is refreshed when a champion dies

Active: Grunlon internalizes the World Rune's power, channeling to heal for 30% her maximum health over 1 second, becoming invulnerable for the duration. Refreshes the CD's of all basic abilities and spreads the Swampland 300/300/500 units outward (regardless of boundaries) on cast. This new expansion only lasts 30 seconds.
