Bring back old items! (WILL BE UPDATING COMMONLY)
Sup summoners? My name is Mike and i wanna talk about a very common idea of many players in league. Bring back old items! No im not talking about one or two or even 10. Im talking about bringing back at least 25% of all items. Bizzare right? Lets look at pros and cons DISCLAIMER (I dont mean bringing them at the same exact stats. that would break the game. I mean nerfed , rarely buffed or even Reworked to match the current way items work. I give examples below) Pros
- More items -> More Builds -> More Creativity on Builds with Impactful desisions and less "Im just buying Ohmwrecker cause i saw it on a guide AND NOT BECAUSE ITS A 95 to 125% GOLD EFFICIENT ITEM
- Old players will have fun again
- The Ranked Climbing ladder will no longer be full of players that abuse A SINGLE BUILD. Yes im talking about you lethality Pantheon
- New players will learn at the same time how to play and how to build a champion. Like srsly its triggering. Every Single New Player either plays only Recommended or Online Builds that have one or two different items. Wow.
- Could possibly stop the "You are trolling cause you bought that item" thing . Ill describe how first item building works right now with the example of a mage. Bullying the enemy? Morello You are playing Cassie or Ryze? Tear Getting rekt by AP? Banshee's Getting rekt by AD? Zhonyas
Thats all. At least the 80% of the community works like this. What if there were other options?
- A use for this items. Im talking about Seeker's Armguard
. So here's the deal. You buy this item to build Zhonyas cause its the only AP/Armor Item that costs more. Jaurim's Fist on the other hand (being the only other item with similar stacking) can be used to buy
or even Map Exclusive items like the Pillager
. The problem is it doesnt keep the stacks. Delaying to complete that item while buying something else is useless because some time you WILL have to upgrade to Zhonyas losing the stacks. What if we brought back a AP/Armor item like lets say the Breathstealer? So here is an example of a Reworked item (compared to how it was when it was removed)
OLD Breathstealer:
+95 ability power
+70 armor.
+15% (Unique) cooldown reduction
Active: UNIQUE: Reduces target enemy champion's ability power and attack damage by 70% for 4 seconds (600 range) (90 second cooldown).
RECIPE: Chain Vest + Needlessly Large Rod + 1300 = 3600
NEW Breathstealer:
+40 ability power (20 more than Seeker's)
+50 Armor (20 more than Seeker's)
Cooldown Reduction : REMOVED
Active : REMOVED
UNIQUE Passive : Added
Killing a unit grants 0.5 bonus ability power and 0.375 armor, stacking up to 120 times for a maximum of 60 bonus ability power and 45 armor.
Death by an enemy champion that is DANGEROUS makes you lose 40% of your current stacks
If Seeker's Armguard has an X amount of Stacks when Breathstealer is made , 75% of the stacks are being kept
RECIPE Seeker's Armguard + Cloth Armor + Amplifying Tome + 865 = 2800
EXPLAINATION : Breathstealer before its removal was... a rather unique item with a very poweful active as well as very good stats. Nerfing it to the ground would be the only way if it was suddenly restored to the game IF such a good chance hadnt poped up and Reworking it wasnt that much favorable The mini-exhaust and Cooldown reduction would have to be removed as the purpose of this item would be a armor/ap item that can give more than zhonyas to people who scale good late game and dont rely on cooldown reduction. Losing 25% of your current stacks would be the best way to balance the bigger cap. The Unique Passives of Seekers and Breathstealer would have to have the same name to avoid people stacking both.
Now Gold-wise. Breathstealer would be a stacking item which loses stacks on certain circumstances . here are some quick stats
Breathstealer with 000 Stacks: 40 AP - 50 ARM ---> Worth: 870+1000=1870
Breathstealer with 060 Stacks: 70 AP - 72.5 ARM ---> Worth: 1522+1440=2962
Breathstealer with 120 Stacks: 100 AP - 95 ARM ---> Worth: 2175+1900=4075
So 0 stacks on Breathstealer makes it Gold Unefficient with 66.79% GE . However just like Mejai's Only a few stacks (or in this case almost half) are enough to make it Gold Efficient at 105.79% GE. Finally at full stacks Breathstealer is really one if not the best AP item in the game with Mejai's making it at 145.54% GE with the biggest amount of Armor in the game on a Single item surpassing Frozen Heart only by 5.
So what would be the problem. Its a late game high reward item but where is the risk? Without a mechanic to lose stacks you would be an unstoppable enemy late game against usual mid AD's like Zed and Talon whoses lethality reaches up to 70-80. To put it simply what makes a champion DANGEROUS? (mentioned that buff and what it does above) well its as simple as this : Should someone on your team buy Breathstealer the 2 enemies with the highest AD gain 10% Armor AND Magic Pen as well as 5 AD and 5 AP. Why AD AND AP? Cause some Magic dmg spells have AD Scalings and some Physical Spells have AP Scalings. Having the Highest or Second Highest AD in the game means one of the two things :
- you play ad and 95 armor on a mage is very powerful
- You forgot to pick an AD champ AT ALL so here comes the magic pen for those who do that mistake
TO BE CONTINUED (I try to make my english as readable as possible while at the same time i have an urge to write a lot so if you dont understand something please let me know so i could explain :D )
