Vergi was one of the many to be destroyed. The difference was, he was awake. As a result, for millennia, Vergi was trapped in a place between the Void and the universe. Millions of millennia passed, Vergi watched Runeterra grow, watched its kingdoms form, and fall, and rise again, from fragements. He witnessed the coming of Pantheon, the enslavement of Aurelian Sol, even the birth of Diana. Eventually, he lost his foothold on reality and went to the void like the rest. the difference was, that the void did not destroy him. it transformed him. He became the very manifestation of the Void.
