Champion Concept: Madeline - The Unfaithful Lover

Hello, this will be my first time posting a champion design on a board like this, so any tips or way I can improve on both my designs and content of my posts would be greatly appreciated.

Going on to the actual champion concept, Madeline is within a series of champions I have designed that are relating them to one of the seven deadly sins, lust, pride, gluttony, greed, envy, sloth, and wrath. I did my best to integrate these aspects into the lore of League as best I could without copying already established themes in the game. Madeline specifically represents the sin of Lust, or the excessive and unbound desire for something or someone, and usually involves pleasures of the skin. She is designed to function mainly as a support with some interesting assassin aspects thrown in (such as close range burst damage and cc). The idea is to lure opponents in with beneficial effects and alluring baits, before ultimately leading them to their doom at the hands of her team. Some of her abilities, thus assist enemies in small ways, but these effects can also be granted to allies to boost them up as well. On a last note, any numbers information written in parenthesis is information that is somewhat tentative and likely to change based on feedback.

Without further introduction, here she is....

Madeline: The Unfaithful Lover Gender: female Age: 30 (her apparent age, she's actually much older)

Stats: Health: 560 - 1920 (+80 per level) Health Regen: 5.5 - 14 (+0.5 per level) Mana: 380 - 1153.5 (+45.5 per level) Mana Regen: 11.5 - 17.875 (+0.375 per level) Attack Damage: 46 - 97 (+3 per level) Attack Speed: 0.625 - 0.778 (+1.44% per level) Armor: 26 - 77 (+3 per level) Magic Resist: 30 - 30 (+0 per level) Move Speed: 340 Attack Range: 500

autoattack: Pinkish energy blasts

Lore: Once a normal citizen of Demacia, Madeline had always strived to achieve a single goal, to be an idol for her people, one adored by the masses and looked up to as a shining example of beauty and grace; to be desired and loved by all. She achieved this, to some degree, and enjoyed fame and recognition within her small village, but never made it big in her dreams for stardom, but grew into a gorgeous woman. It was in her later years, when her popularity declined due to her age, that her life took a twisted turn. Her husband of many years was having illicit affairs behind her back, eventually causing the two to part ways. Feeling crushed and hopeless, Madeline slipped into depression, and vainly attempted to reclaim her past beauty and youth. Her parents being well versed in medicine, she scoured her childhood home in search of anything to grant her renewed youth. Despite many attempts with odd potions and remedies that claimed to slow aging, the effects only seemed to make her ill and tired. Eventually, Madeline stumbled across an ancient tome that told of an ancient ritual that could rejuvenate the body. Desperate and reaching the end of her short life, Madeline decided to perform the ritual, regardless of the potential risks. Later that night she gathered all the materials and performed the dark arts written within the tome. The ritual succeeded and Madeline, bathed in pink light, regained her youthful, beautiful body. The cost however, was that the being the spell summoned infiltrated and attempted to possess Madeline. While Madeline won the resulting mental struggle, her mind was shattered, a mixed and muddled fusion of the being, which the tome called Lusuria, and her own. While she found extraordinary power in the ability to control and manipulate others desires, she also found from Lusuria's shattered thoughts that the magic that made her body young again would rapidly decay without replenishing its source, the desire of others. With her body restored but her mind broken, Madeline now roams from town to town, using a rose to invite those taken in by her charms, and hypnotizing them with enchanting magic should they refuse. Once in her embrace, she drains them of their desire and life force, leaving only a stoic, sickly partner unable to comprehend or recount the unfortunate encounter.

Passive: Allure Madeline's magic projects an aura around her that causes nearby champions to desire her love. All champions within a range of 1400 units around Madeline and have vision of her gain (2/3/4/5 at levels 1/6/11/16) stacks of desire every second they remain in this range. At 100 stacks, the champion will become enamored with Madeline, preventing them from gaining any further desire stacks and cause Madeline's skills to gain bonus effects. Stacks decay at a rate of 3 every second after 20 seconds of not having sight of Madeline, all stacks are lost instantly upon death. There is also a visual effect once the target becomes enamoured.

Q: Show of Affection Linear Skillshot: 1000 range Cost: (80/85/90/95/100) mana Cooldown: (11/10/9/8/7) seconds Madeline blows a kiss in a direction, stopping at the first champion. Any allies hit by the kiss are healed for (50/65/80/95/110)+(35% AP), and if the target is enamored the amount healed is increased by 50%. Any enemies hit will take (40/65/90/115/140)+(50% AP) magic damage, and will charmed for 1.5 seconds if they are enamored. Any enamored champions within 1400 range of the champion hit by Show of Affection becomes jealous, and gains (15/20/25/30/35) AD for 5 seconds.

W: Invitation to Desire linear skillshot: 1300 range, reactivation range: 1200 Cost: (70/80/90/100/110) mana Cooldown: (18/16/14/12/10) seconds Passive: Any champion hit by Show of Affection and Invitation to Desire gains (10/20/30/40/50) stacks of desire Active: Madeline throws an enchanted rose in target direction, stopping at the first champion hit and marking them for 5 seconds. The marked champion gains (20)% + (10% per 100 AP) bonus movement speed when moving towards Madeline for the duration of the mark. While an enamoured target is marked, Madeline may reactivate this ability to instantaneously warp to the side of the marked target. If the rose doesn’t hit a target, it will fall to the ground, granting the mark and (20/40/60/80/100) stacks of desire to the next champion that picks it up within 10 seconds. If Madeline picks up her own rose, the cooldown on this spell is reduced.

E: Heartbreak targeted: 150 range Cost: (40/50/60/70/80) mana Cooldown: (8/7/6/5/4) seconds Madeline reaches to embrace target enemy champion before draining their desire and life force, dealing (75/125/175/225/275)+(70% AP) magic damage and removing (20/40/60/80/100) of their desire stacks. For each stack removed, she is healed for 0.3% of her maximum health. If the champion is enamored, they are slowed by 60%, which decays over 1.5 seconds

R: Lusuria's Embrace AOE around self: 750 range Cost: (130/150/170) mana Cooldown: (170/150/130) seconds Madeline unleashes her full power, instantly draining all desire from all champions in a large aoe around her.She then summons shadowy claws that slowly reach towards all enemy champions within the aoe, rooting herself for the duration. After channeling for 1 second, she retracts the claws, dragging all enemies still within the aoe to her, dealing magic damage equal to 100 + (half of all the desire stacks drained during the channel) to all enemies caught by her claws and stunning them for (0.5/0.75/1) seconds.

I apologize if the skill descriptions are somewhat lengthy and wordy, as I try to capture the full image of the ability in my descrptions, including what the skill actually looks like, something that doesn't appear normally in the game tooltips.

I hope you find her as interesting as I do. I apologize for no pictures, I have only just started taking graphics design classes and have 0 skill in hand drawing. Once again I appreciate any and all feedback. If I get good comments and feedback, I will share more designs like this in the future.

I actually find this ability pretty interesting. There's a lot you could with something like this. And flavour-wise it's also very clever that it applies to champs in range that have in vision of her, like they're admiring her from afar even if she doesn't see them. The numbers could maybe use some playing around, but otherwise really good.

Q: Show of Affection Linear Skillshot: 1000 range Cost: (80/85/90/95/100) mana Cooldown: (11/10/9/8/7) seconds Madeline blows a kiss in a direction, stopping at the first champion. Any allies hit by the kiss are healed for (50/65/80/95/110)+(50% AP), and if the target is enamored the amount healed is increased by 50%. Any enamored champions within 1400 range of the champion hit by Show of Affection becomes jealous, and gains (15/20/25/30/35) AD for 5 seconds.

Just to clarify, is it only ally champs that become jealous and gain bonus AD? Or all (including enemies) that get it? Still a very interesting.

If Madeline picks up her own rose, the cooldown on this spell is reduced.

Does the bonus movement speed also apply to enemies? Does picking up count as walking over like a Bard heal, or actively clicking on it like a Thresh lantern? The bonus given is also pretty good too.

I dunno how I feel about this one. The damaging part is fine and the removal of the desire is also fine, I'm just not too sure on the heal and slow. While having a "heal to allies/damage to enemies" ability makes sense, I don't know about a damage, heal and slow on the one ability, even if it was to remove all of the stacks. This is just personally. There's nothing wrong with it, just sort of okay if that makes sense.

After channeling for 0.5 seconds, she retracts the claws, dragging all enemies still within the aoe to her, dealing magic damage equal to 100 + (half of all the desire stacks drained during the channel) to all enemies caught by her claws and stunning them for (0.5/1/1.5) seconds.

This is also pretty interesting. I don't feel like claws work in a thematic sense, but the over all ability is pretty good. The stun might be a bit too strong though, considering you are already pulling them towards you. I'm comparing this to something like Orianna's ult, which also potentially pulls players. I would also suggest adding some sort of scaling on it. Hypothetically, if allies and enemies had 100 stacks when this ability activated, you would absorb 900 stacks, which round down to half plus the base 100 would make 550 at best. While this ability is pretty strong, again compared to Orianna's which is 300(+ 70% AP) at level 18, there's a significant difference in damage between the 2.

Overall I actually like this concept quite a bit. It honestly feels a bit like a first draft, but you definitely have the foundations of a good concept here. For a first attempt you've done pretty well for yourself. I'll be looking forward to seeing your others.

Interesting concept! I just have one question about her W. Is it meant to be neutrally targeted, ally targeted or enemy targeted?

Interesting kit, but I'd have the stacks decay at 3 per second when not viewing Madeline for 20 seconds. The passive just stays too long IMO, and it would be really annoying to fight against.

That ulti is probably the most amazing CC I've ever seen.

I'd also lower the AP ratio from the Q heal from 0.5 to 0.2, or full AP Madeline would be so overused.

Overall, I like the kit! Very interesting.

BTW, could you check out my champion concept? I worked hard on it, and I'd like some feedback and critique. You can find it here. If you don't want to read all of the detail ability numbers, skip to the discussion section for a brief overview and go back to them later!

As an update, I have lowered the time before stacks start to decay from 1 minute to 20 seconds, lowered the ap ratio of Show of Affection's heal to 30% from 50%, increased the delay on Lusuria's Embrace from 0.5 seconds to 1 second and lowered it's stun duration from (0.5/1.0/1.5) to 0.5/0.75/1)
