[Champion Concept] Silva, Guardian of the Forest (AD DOT Control support)
Background:
A while ago, I had the idea for a cool ultimate ability, which would require a tree/woodland based champion (See Silva's R ability for details, it was originally a lumberjack in my mind). Much later, I came across the idea of an AD support, mostly frustrated that Zeke's Herald in those days (when it was a lifesteal aura) couldn't be fully utilized on pretty much anyone. I was thinking of other potential AD items that a support could utilize, and Black Cleaver came to mind, as the support could shred the armor of an enemy so your ADC can have an easier time dealing with it. Because of this, I realized for this champ DOT would be important, and for whatever reason I though of swirling leaves in an area around the champion dealing dot. And thus, my two champion concepts were merged together to be a forest-dwelling elf. Plus, I find it strange that as a fantasy-esque game, League has no definitive elves.
Concept:
There are no AD-based supports, and I think it would definitely be an interesting addition to the RIft. In order to prevent him from being a dominant laner, his auto attacks' damage is only modified by his passive. Silva utilizes low-power damage-over-time to shred the resistances of marked enemies. In lane, Leaf Litter (Q) is used to both slow and harass opponents. His ability Green Thumb (E) allows him to provide vision with Sproutlings and Saplings, while Tree allow him to control a larger area with Rustling Winds (W). This ability deals minimal physical damage in an AOE around Silva and his Stalks, shredding the armor of marked opponents. If allies are in the Rustling Winds around SIlva, they are sheilded. If they are in the Rustling Winds around Stalks, they gain movement speed.
Description:
Silva is an elf-like support champion themed around the forest. For a visual, imagine the character Silvanus from Smite (Roman god of the forest), however slightly younger and with a brown and green tattered cloak. He is an AD support whose gameplay revolves around controlling small areas with his abilities while dealing damage over time.
Abilities:
> NOTE > All numbers are theoretical. The damage may be too much or too little, and only testing would be able to prove that, which obviously won't happen. > > Stats: I'm not sure for most, but probably something Bard-like. > Range: 225 > Base attack speed: Very low, for the purpose of reducing the effectiveness of attack speed items on him. However, his passive grants him n% attack speed so that without any item modification, his attack speed isn't dreadfully slow > > Mana and mana costs- again, no idea, I'm not a balancer.
Passive: Foliage Affinity Silva's auto-attacks do not scale with bonus attack damage. Against targets marked by Leaf-litter, Silva's auto-attacks gain an additional 375 range (total: 600), and deal an additional 5/6/7/8% (at levels 1/7/11/15) of the target's current health as bonus magic damage. All of Silva's auto attacks are treated as melee attacks. Silva gains n% attack speed
Leaf-litter (Q):
After a short delay, Silva calls leaves to drop in a target location, slowing and marking enemies while dealing physical damage in an area of effect every .25 seconds for 1.25 seconds. The fallen leaves create a pile that remains on the ground for a short period of time, granting allies and himself bonus movement speed and slowing enemies upon walking into the field, decaying over a short time.
If a Sproutling is within the area of effect of Leaf-litter, the area snares instead of slows. This consumes the Sproutling.
Cast time: 0.25 seconds Physical Damage: 10/17.5/25/32.5/40 (+3% bonus AD) every .25 seconds Pile Duration: for 3/3.33/3.66/4 seconds (at levels 1/5/9/13) Ally Movement buff: 100/115/125/135/150 flat, decaying over 3 seconds Enemy Movement Debuff: 100/115/125/135/150 flat, decaying over 2 seconds Snare Duration: 1 second Mark Duration: 10 seconds Cooldown: 13/12.25/11.5/10.75/10
The slow for marked champions is increased by 50%
Cast Range: 900 AOE Diameter: 200 (Perspective: Orianna Dissonance AOE is 175, Miss Fortune Make it Rain range is 1000)
Rustling Winds (W):
When cast, Silva conjures a mass of leaves, creating a vortex around himself for a brief amount of time that shields allies and damages enemies near him. Nearby Trees also create a vortex around themselves, but increase allies' movement speed instead of shielding.
Marked targets additionally have their armor reduced for every .25 seconds they are within Silva's Rustling Winds, and are slowed by Tree's Rustling Winds
Cast time: Instant Physical Damage: 11/12/13/14/15 (+2.5% bonus AD) every .25 seconds (132/156/182/210/240 [+30/32.5/35/37.5/40 bonus AD] total) Shield: 60/100/140/180/220 (+60% total AD) Movement Speed Granted: 30/40/50/60/70% Marked Target Armor Reduction: 3/4/5/6/7 flat +1.25/2.5/3.75/5.0/6.25% Durration: 3/3.25/3.5/3.75/4 seconds Cooldown: 10 seconds Affected Tree Range: 1250 AOE Diameter: 450 (Perspective: Maokai's Vengeful Maelstrom is 475 diameter, Rengar reveals enemies 1250 units away)
Green Thumb (E):
PASSIVE: Silva stores Acorns periodically, up to a maximum of 2/3/4/5 (levels 1/5/9/13). Up to 5 individual Growths can be planted at a time ACTIVE: Silva plants an Acorn, creating a Sproutling growth. Beans can also be consumed to empower previously planted Growth.
By casting Green Thumb on a Sproutling or Sapling, and Acorn is consumed and it instantly becomes the next level of Growth
By casting Green Thumb on a Tree, the Tree is destroyed. In turn, Silva gains 2 Acorns and the cooldown of Timber! is reduced by 20% of its total cooldown.
> Growth: > *Sproutling: grants sight of a small area around it. They are visible to opponents, and can be destroyed with auto attacks. After 30 seconds, a Sproutling becomes a Sapling, healing all of the damage it had previously taken. > * If there are 3 Saplings planted at one time, a Sproutling will remain a Sproutling until there are less than 3 Saplings at one time. > > * Auto-Attacks to destroy: 2/3/4/5 at levels 1/7/11/15 > * Cast Range: 850 > * Vision radius: 750 > * (Perspective: Zyra W range is 850, Farsight Alteration ward's vision radius is 900) > > * Sapling: grants sight of an area around it. They are invisible, but can be revealed with True Sight, and destroyed with auto attacks. After 3 minutes, a Sapling will grow into a Tree. > * Silva can use Green Thumb in melee range to destroy the sapling and gain one Acorn > > * Auto-Attacks to destroy: 3/4/5/6 at levels 1/7/11/15 > * Vision Radius: 1100 > * (Perspective: Stealth Ward vision radius is 1100) > > * Tree: enemies who walk through trees are revealed and slowed by 50%. Trees last for 5 minutes. If a Tree is grown against natural terrain, it cannot be attacked for 1 minute. Trees have 10 HP towards auto attacks, where ranged auto attacks deal 1 damage and melee auto attacks deal 2 damage. Trees can also take up to 500/1000/1500/2000 (scales with Timber! level) spell damage before they are destroyed > > * Unit size: 225 (However, no unit collision, just reveal and slow) > * (Perspective: Trundle's Pillar is 225 units diameter)
Timber! (R):
PASSIVE: Increases the health of Trees. Silva gains additional movement speed for 2 seconds after using Green Thumb. ACTIVE: Silva grows a giant tree, acting as impassible terrain. Silva can reactivate Timber! to knock the tree down in the direction opposite of Silva, dealing percent current health damage and knocking aside all foe hit. After 6 seconds, the tree will fall on its own.
If Silva casts Timber! on a Tree, leaves fall, creating a large zone that increases allies' movement speed.
Passive Movement speed: 30/45/60% Current health damage: 5/10/15% Zone Movement speed Increase: 15/22.5/30% Cast time: .5 seconds Cast time when used on tree: Instant Cast Range: 250/400/600 Trunk radius: 150 Length of Tree (for second cast): 1250 (Perspective: Trundle's Pillar's Area's radius: 187.5, length of Braum's ult: 1250)
Gameplay:
Laning phase: Early laning phase, use your Sproutlings as vision to help against early gankers. If you hit your Q, you're able to harass your opponent very easily. Be warned, as you are very squishy and relatively immobile. With your W, you have to choose between protecting your ally, or increasing your ally's damage (with shreded resistances). Once you're able to set up some Trees, use them for some easy harass with your W when enemies get too close. Your laning phase is safe but weak.
Midgame: Silva excels in the midgame, flourishing in small skirmishes where he can split a team and his armor shred starts to ramp up. Although he cannot peel well, he is able to significantly increase the damage that your ADC can do to burly frontliners, so staying near your ADC is your job.
Late Game: By now you should have at least an upgraded support item and a Black Cleaver, so be ready to shred tanks to bits. Your Saplings give you twice as much vision as any other champion on the map, so use that to your advantage. Your ultimate is extremely versitile: use it to pick of enemies in the jungle, initiate a fight, or disengage. But without it, your teamfight presence is low.
Final words:
I thought this guy would be a pretty interesting champion. Not many things in his kit are necissarily new, mostly just modified versions of whats already in the game. I think and AD support is an interesting concept, and a support that helps your ADC kill tanks are both unique concepts that can be applied together for one unique champ.
PS- never did one of these before, so there's probably some confusing explanations or ridiculously OP concepts that I'm overlooking PPS- yet I know that his E is very much like Zyra's W, but Green Thumb evolves on its own and is for utility and control rather than brief extra damage
Thanks all!
