Klenk- The "Investor" [Champion Concept]

So, I went scouring the champion concept page and I couldn't find the discussion I was looking for. I saw someone had posted a champion based on gold as a resource and it inspired me to try my own version, because a lot of people were talking about stealing gold and whatnot not being fun.

So here's my attempt (and be forewarned, I came up with most of this at work, trying to remember templates and such during a crazy snow scare, so I'm probably off on numbers)

Klenk, the "Investor"

Klenk is a shady businessman at best and a contemptible liar and thief at worst. Though he made an extremely comfortable living making wagers on any situation he could, he felt he just wasn't being hands-on enough.

Health 499 – 1699 Health regen. 5.4 – 13.9 Attack damage 51 – 102 Attack speed 0.625 (+0% – 36.2%) Armor 19.1 – 83.7 Magic res. 30.0 Ranged 550 Move speed 335

Passive - Interest Klenk's income from all sources is tripled (not including champion kills and assists.) and two-thirds of Klenk's gold is transferred to his resources. Klenk can transfer up to 20% of his current reserve to target ally (100 second cooldown) Klenk's gold resources are capped at his gp10 * (20/30/40) (Klenk starts the game with 50% of his starting gold reserves and transfer on cooldown.)

Q - Heads or Tails? 10% of max gold reserve Klenk chooses Heads or Tails for his next basic attack. The attack deals 60/80/100/120/140 + 60% AP magic damage and he receives 4/6/8/10/12 gold. Heads: Doubles the gold (8/12/16/20/24), but deals deals half damage. Tails: Halves the gold (2/3/4/5/6), but slows 50% for 1.5 secs. Cooldown 12/10.5/9/7.5/6 seconds

W - Pocket Change 10% of current gold reserve Klenk throws a cone of coins, dealing magic damaged equal to the gold spent + 50% AP. Champions damaged but not killed by Pocket Change receive 1/2/3/4/5 gold. Cooldown 8/7/6/5/4 seconds Range 600

E - Sweeten the Pot 10% max gold reserve The next time target ally damages a unit, they recieve 1/2/4/6/8 gold. If the unit is killed, half the cost is refunded and ally gains a shield equal to 80/100/120/140/160 + 50% gold spent. Cooldown 15/14/13/12/11 seconds Range 550

R - Rigging the Game 30%of current gold reserve Klenk tosses a massive sack of gold to target location. Enemy champions within the radius are taunted to attack the sack for 1.5/2.5/4 seconds (reduced .5 seconds for each champion beyond the first, down to minimum of 1.5 seconds) The sack has HP equal to 10 * gold spent and breaking the sack sends gold flying, dealing magic damage equal to gold spent + 60% AP + 30% enemy champion's current gold. Cooldown 130/110/90 seconds Range 700 Radius 600

I know I have no stats, but I just got home and decided to throw this up there, so if you all have any suggestions be my guest :)

Edit 1: Changed some numbers (made reserve cap scale with level 6-11-16, increased ult bag health and added range and radius to abilities)

Quotes:

Champ Select

  • "I'm putting my money on you."

Buys:

Any GP10 item

  • "Gotta spend money to make money."
  • "My one talent? I'm more of a ten talent kinda guy." <-bonus points if you get the reference
  • "Worth it's weight in gold."

Spellthief's Edge

  • "Spell 'thief?' K-L-E-N-K."

Zhonya's

  • "The best laid plans..."

Sightstone

  • "Rather have a crystal ball."
  • "Hindsight is 20/20"

Champion Taunts

I think his kit should revolve around gains and losses. One ability could make all champs in an areas auto attacks steal gold, and at the end he can tax them to mitigate losses somewhat, like an exhaust scaling off the amount of gold lost.

With that u could make him a really interesting tank.

And it fits the, fat rich investors, aesthetic.

I think this champion would be really coo, and I like that he doesn't get heaps of extra gold or steal gold. Really this is the first time I've seen a gold based champion really make sense or seem viable. I would like to play him if i saw him released. Also, is he supposed to be a support character or a solo laner, because his moves seem conducive to support but if he wasnt farming then his gold reserve would suffer greatly.

Coincidentally, I was also going to post a champion concept that utilized gold. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs] Great minds think alike and whatnot, amirite? Though mine scales off of AD instead of AP.

Anyways, here's a quick analysis:

Innate: Can you clarify what his Reserve capacity is? Is it that he starts with 100 and gains +100 to his maximum Reserves at level 6, 11, and 16?

Q: Heads seems alright; Tails seems kind of weak. How long does the 50% gold yield last? And does it apply to assists/allied kills?

W: It seems good to risk getting hit during the early game, but after that looks like it would deal too much damage to warrant someone to walk into it intentionally. The cooldown also makes it a bit spammy.

E: Looks like it would work well offensively, but not as much defensively. Seems like it would work best if you knew that the enemy(ies) were heading your way and you had time to prepare.

R: What do you mean when you use the enemy champion's gold? Does it prioritize the one with the most gold? The first one in the area? All the enemy champions combined (This would be stupidly overpowered, btw)? Also, this ability seems like it would become waaay to overpowered in the late game, when some people can have up to 3000 gp in disposable income.

Okay, changed some of the numbers. Klenk starts with 50% of his gold reserves at lvl1 now and the ratios on W and R have been reduced. :) I don't know about anyone else, but I like coming up with new champ ideas. Wish I did it more.
