'Iiblis, The River's of Blood
> Down by the river, a city once stood, > but to stop the battles, nobody could. > Noxus had led their armies straight through. > There was nothing anyone could do. > > Soldier's blood flowed through the streets, > forming a varied array of treats. > A demon of myth who was long forgotten > rose from below when the ground grew rotten. > > 'Iiblis watched from the ground > as another man joined a mound. > His body was battered and his eyes looked quite dim, > yet he could tell right away those orbs were on him. > > Rage coursed through the man's heart; > the blood that soaked him came apart. > It flowed with power bestowed by the demon > so that the man could revive as a heathen. > > Black armor coated his dying form, > and turned his cold body quite warm. > The city around him fell down in flames, > and he remembered all of the lost people's names. > > So as the red glow formed in his eye, > he could only think that his foes had to die. > Just as he was left cold and alone, > the seeds of their deaths were already sown. > > But 'Iiblis cared not for the stranger's quest > and decided right then to corrupt the rest. > As the Hisada lept to the slaughter, > the dead streets came alive with laughter. > > All the bodies of the dead > came rising up with the demon at head. > They carried no weapons and bore no defense > but the army of blood has never lost hence.
'Iiblis, The River's of Blood HP: 530-1320 HP Regen: 4-16 Secondary Bar: None AD: 53-107 Attack Speed: .625 (+3.5% per level) Movement Speed: 330 Attack Range: 525 Armor: 25-56 Magic Resist: 23-50
> Passive: Those Who Fall - Passively, champion's leave behind a pool of blood when they die for 6 second. 'Iiblis can see them, even through fog of war, and has two different possible interactions. He can attack it with an ability, which will refund the cost of the ability and grant him a stack of For The Blood God, or he can right click it. If he right clicks it, he will channel for up to 3 seconds (Based on distance) before teleporting to it. Both actions consume the pool. Damage interrupts the channel. Each stack of For The Blood God grants 'Iiblis 12 HP regen per 5 seconds while out of combat, stacking infinitely. 1 stack is lost on death.
Purpose: Little bit of sustain to make up for his weak natural defenses combined with a conditional blink.
Overall, it's not actually that strong of an ability if your team is behind, but it allows 'Iiblis to head top lane without teleport and split push, or to compensate for someone else's feeding. For example, if an ally dies, he can warp to their corpse to take on the now weakened foe.
This would also put him as a functional jungler, even if his stats make this a rather difficult task. Fortunately, the rest of his kit at least partially makes up for that.
> Q: Blessing Of The Underneath - Passively, 'Iiblis gains up to 12/14/16/18/20% lifesteal based on how close his targets are to himself. Has a minimum of 3%. Actively, 'Iiblis engorges on the blood of an enemy, gaining 6/7/8/9/10% of their AD, HP regen, and Armor for 4 seconds and dealing 20/30/40/50/60 +100%AD magic damage to the target. Costs 30/35/40/45/50 HP, reduced to 20 if below 50% HP, and has a 12 second cooldown with 525 cast range.
Purpose: Again, a little bit of sustain, but it also suggests a more aggressive playstyle against those who can't burst you into dust, which is generally a fun thing to gamble on.
Blessing of the Underneath is actually a fairly passive Q for a champion, as the damage, while nice, isn't the focus of his kit. It's just that little push to get him running.
If this ability targets a blood pool, it doesn't cost him anything, so it's a reasonable way to get it without getting too far into potential danger.
> W: To Live Is To Bleed - Passively, auto attacks cause the target to bleed for 4/6/8/10/12 +8%AD physical damage per second for 3 seconds, stacking up to 3 times. Whenever any enemy has 3 stacks on them, he can activate this ability to deal the full damage of all bleed stacks from nearby units to an enemy, with a max of 24/36/48/60/72 +48%AD, and apply a full bleed to them. If this targets a pool of blood, l bleeding damage is doubled for the next 5 seconds. Costs 40 health on cast and has a 12 second cooldown with a 525 cast range.
Purpose: Primary source of passive damage while E is down and R is either down or not useful.
This is probably the most obnoxious tool in his belt, at least to play against. There's no way to predict it (Passive and R) and it's a DoT, making it kind of annoying by default.
It's like giving Teemo a physical damage poison instead.
Fortunately, though, unless he has a
, it's unlikely for him to get the max damage from the active.
> E: The Blood Touched - 'Iiblis melts the coating around his body, losing all base Armor and Magic resist for up to 4 seconds. During this time, he is immune to all forms of Armor and Magic Pen. Additionally, the blood empowers his attacks, increasing the damage from ability actives and auto attacks by 30/37.5/45/52.5/60% and increasing their range's by 125 units. Costs nothing, but has a 32/28/24/20/16 second cooldown. Can be canceled by reactivating.
Purpose: To give him the damage and range he needs.
With a somewhat low range and below average damage throughout his normal abilities, 'Iiblis isn't really a star, but this ability gives him everything he was missing, but at one of the most risky prices this game has ever actually had.
>** Ultimate: Deal With The Devil** - Passively, units within 1000 units of 'Iiblis always leave behind a corpse. Champions do this regardless of range. Actively, all unit corpses within 300 units are revived on the allied side for 6/8/10 seconds. Units revived in this way have 0 Armor and Magic Resist, but are unaffected by all forms of Armor and Magic Pen. Reactivating will direct revived Champion's, though all other forms of units will act entirely from an AI. Has a 120 second cooldown, reduced by 10 seconds whenever he gains a stack of For The Blood God.
Purpose: Give him a presence in teamfights that simultaneously demands attention and can be written off with some planning.
All units revived this way provide 15 kill gold, though they all count as pets and provide no experience, so it's not always worth it to retreat when this is used.
Though, because it's most powerful when champions are dead (probably allies due to the low cast range), the power of it is really easy to deal with- kill him first. He has no defensive tools in his kit, really, besides just hoovering up enemy healthbars through lifesteal, so blow him out of the fight and there you go. Additionally, the low cast range means spreading the fight over terrain prevents him from getting too many valuable pieces.
On the other side of the coin, this thing can be devastating. With the ability to revive monsters, minions, and champions from both sides,
Simply put, 'Iiblis is someone built as a glass cannon of the highest order. While he blows apart healthbars, healing from them in the process, his only real defense is eating his opponents and summoning his fallen comrades and enemies to body block for him.
A good assassin, a good bruiser, or a f***ing
will still blow him to shreds.
But that makes sense thematically, at least if you understand the lore of the Underneath. The Blood Touched were never that powerful a species, despite their numerous abilities, because they draw from the life essence of dead things.
Not exactly a lot going on there.
The reason they created their realm was to hide from the world which saw them, quite reasonably, as monsters. That wouldn't be necessary if they could just tear humanity a new one on a whim.
Instead, they draw on the war-like tendencies of our cultures, thriving on the bloodbaths we create ourselves, and taking the spotlight only once their victory has been assured.
That's how they remained hidden for most of their existence...
Then again, 'Iiblis gives 0 shits about that. [vlad-salute]
