— Riman

Please give comment, critic, or whatever. I’ll take all suggestions into consideration.

Lore: (This will be much longer than my usual ones. Please tell me if you think a “long” bio is good for the character.)

Riman was no ordinary boy. Born of a family who lived near one of the holy sites created by the Wars, Riman was always fascinated by those great weapons. Who was so mighty that they could wield a sword twice the size of a grown man? He wandered around gargantuan wildlives despite being told not to, and he possessed visions that were usually only achieved by those with years of practice in the Kinkou Monastery.

He could also see “auras of light,” as he calls them, around weapons. As Riman got older, he was able to see different color and types of aura. A kitchen knife possesses a clear aura – a innocent weapon; one that does not kill nor protect. A murderer’s weapon possesses a pinkish aura – a mischievous weapon, but far from an evil one. The most interesting auras were from weapons that have achieved great feats. The weapons from the holy site emitted all types of colors. The aura of some ancient swords even seemed to be opalescent; their aura changed all the time.

When Riman was thirteen years old, he could hear voices coming from the weapons.

“My master was a greedy one,” some daggers would say. All weapons could speak, some clearly, while others seemed to be lost in time, unaware of the things they are murmuring under their breath. Riman’s favorite place then became the holy sites. Every single weapon had stories to tell of their previous owners. Some of the stories were of great deeds, while others were simply daily lives of people millenia ago.

When Riman turned fifteen, the auras began to form shapes.

The weapons haunted Riman; the auras formed shapes of the weapon’s past victims. Then one day, when Riman goes to visit the sacred site like usual, there was a man-shaped aura. It was emitted from a small sword compared to its neighbors (Riman can hold it single-handed). Beside the sword was a metallic shield and a few loose pieces that seemed to resemble pieces of an armor. These weapons were never there before, nor will they ever be. Their very design was an insult to the Ionia. The sharpened edges, rough texture, and squandered materials would offense even the most erratic Ionian.

Riman, however, was drawn to these tools, or more accurately, drawn to the aura. The aura was him, an older version, with bruises and cuts, but it was definitely him.

“You are chosen by the weapons,” the aura begin, “you are blessed by an ancient being; one that is older than the land itself. ”

“Who are you, then?” Riman mocked, “your choice of weapon disgusts me – these tools do not concur with the nature.”

A chuckle, “Perhaps, but you will use them. My existence is the most solid proof. These are crafted by the Freljord demigod at the height of his power. Take them, and I’ll lead you to the KinKou Monastery. Learn the finest usage of weapon from those mortals, and your power will be in need to protect this land sooner than you expect.”

“And what if I choose to not listen?”

“Then Ionia will lose the next Rune War.”

(Ahhhh this is so bad… I’m awful at keeping stories like this short, and I often have a hard time keeping the same verb tense. Oh well, I hope you like it) https://lolstatic-a.akamaihd.net/frontpage/apps/prod/universe-map/en_US/028534bdba3d67d5c6da5191002097e62fb48a45/assets/images/ionia_culture_01.jpg This is where he got his weapons by the way.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Passives: Masterpiece of a Demigod: Riman has six item slots, and three of them are filled with upgradable items at the beginning of the game that he cannot buy or sell. The three upgradable items are described all the way down.

Conversing with Weapons: As someone who never used a weapon before, Riman gains more understanding of the aura by speaking with weapons. Riman gains stacks of Weapon Expertise (I know it doesn’t sound that good...) upon different actions. His basic abilities will be enhanced depending on the stack he has.

Auto attack/attacked by minions (2/1.3/0.6/0.2 stack at level 1/7/13/16) Auto attack/attacked by monsters (3/1.8/0.8/0.3 stack at ^ ) Auto attack/attacked by towers (0 stack, it is a weapon even Riman cannot understand) Auto attack/attacked by champions (6 stack throughout the whole game)

Heated Conversation: If Riman stays in combat with a unit for over 4/3.5/3 seconds (at level 1/7/13), he marks them for 1.5/2/2.5 seconds and gains double the amount of stacks from marked units. The duration is refreshed everytime Riman damages them. This effect will disappear and goes on a static 30 seconds cooldown if Riman exits combat or kills the marked unit (or if the mark's duration ends). If Riman kills a marked champion, he will lose 30/35/40 stacks. This effect has an static 40 seconds cooldown.

Note:

  • To get as many stack of Weapon Expertise as possible, Riman will hard shove the lane. I gave him really low base stats so his aggressive early game play style can be easily punished.
  • The stacks from weaker targets decrease over time because Riman can just build tank and stand in a big wave of minion/raptors...
  • Riman has to stay in combat with at least one specific unit, meaning killing 20 caster minions in a roll probably won't make him "deeply into conversation." lol

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Q: Swinging the Sword : Cooldown: 13/11/9/7/5|| Cost: 45/55/65/75/85 mana

Passive: Riman gains 10 range for his auto attack and Swinging the Sword for every 100 stacks of Weapon Expertise

Active: After 1 second of winding up, Riman swings his sword in a 80 degree arc 150 units in front of him over 0.5 second, dealing 15/30/45/60/75(+35% total AD)(+55/65/75/85/95% bonus AD) physical damage. This can apply on-hit effects and counts as an auto attack (jax’s e can nullify it)

Weapon Expertise: 100 stacks: The swing becomes 0.4/0.3/0.2/0.1/0 second. 200 stacks: Riman can move during the wind up. The mana cost and cooldown will also be halved if it hits at least 4/4/3/3/2 target. (He also gains 10% bonus movement speed during the wind up if this ability is maxed) 350 stacks: This ability will have an additional damage ratio of (+10% maximum health)

Note: As strong as it sounds, there wouldn’t be a point of using this in most phases of the game. It is very dodgeable until you get 200 stacks, and there really won’t be any real reason to max this first unless you builds full ad.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ W: Holding up the Shield : Cooldown: 20/27/24/21/18|| Cost: 40/60/80/100/120 mana

Passive: Riman gains 6/7/8/9/10% damage reduction to damage taken at his left side (he is holding the shield with his left hand)

Active: [Tap]: Riman snares himself for 0.5/1/1.5/2/2.5 seconds, gaining 25/30/35(+1 for every 4 armor/magic resist)% damage reduction and becomes immune to crowd control coming from the target direction. Everything he blocks will knock him back for 15 units. The passive will be disabled during the active, but is still in effect if the ability is in cooldown. Riman cannot auto attack during this effect, but he can still cast other abilities. He can recast this to stop the effect (from tap).

[Hold]: Riman holds up his shield with two hands and gains 80/85/90/95/100% damage reduction for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds, stopping all projectiles but still takes full damage (can still be reduced by resistances, of course) from them. For each projectile (Including AA) Riman blocked, the % dmg reduction will be lowered by 15/13/11/9/7%. Riman can move during [hold], but he cannot attack or cast other abilities. Will be canceled if you stop holding down the key.

If the key is hold down for less than 0.33 second, it will act as [tap]. So slow connections won't troll you...

Weapon Expertise: (these will be for his passive and [tap] only) 0 stacks: Each ability/AA that Riman blocked with the active will grant him 10/12/14/16/18 stacks of Weapon Expertise. 150 stacks: Riman will not snare himself, but he will be knocked back 25/20/15/10/5 units each time he gets hit instead. 250 stacks: Riman reflects 30% of the damage he blocked with his shield (either passive or active). 350 stacks: The damage reduction of his passive will be doubled at all times.

Note: (for [tap]) Very similar to braum’s shield but slightly different. Until 150 stack, this ability can probably only be used for blocking one ability. This doesn’t work on aoe abilities. The self-knock back is mainly for Riman's opponents to be able to kite him. With the MS boost from his q, this ability will be like "in your face" without the knock backs.

An example for the active's number If Riman has 100 armor and 40 magic resist... He would gain 30(+25)(+10) = 65% damage reduction for damage taking from the front

The effect for 250 stacks is somewhat similar to thornmail.

Note: (for [hold]) By using [hold] Riman also gives up all of his offensive power, but instead gains massive boost to his defensive stats. This can even be used setting up a good ultimate since you wouldn't be knocked back everytime you try to engage with w on.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ E: Survivall First! : Cooldown: 28/26/24/22/20|| Cost: N/A

Riman disarms and silences himself for 3/2.7/2.4/2.1/1.8 seconds, and he gains 60 bonus movement speed and is able to move through units for 2 seconds. During the disarm duration, Riman loses his w’s passive and stops his w’s active if it is on. “Without the heavy armor, I can run much faster, and those magical things can always find its way back. It’s a win-win! Cheers!”

Weapon Expertise: 100 stacks: Instead of the 60 bonus MS, it becomes a 30% MS steroid. 250 stacks: Riman gains 6/12/18/24/30% resistance to slow, stun, and snare(more explanation below). This is doubled if the ability is active, but still in effect if it is in cooldown. 350 stacks: Riman will not be disarmed.

Note: This is a desperate escape (or a reckless engage). Until 350 stacks, Riman will be extremely vulnerable during those 2-3 seconds.

250 stacks explanation: If Riman is slowed by 60% for 3 seconds and his e is rank 5, he will be slowed by 42% for 3 seconds instead. This is different than tenacity because tenacity reduces the duration of a cc instead of its effectiveness.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ R: Mighty Swordsman : Cooldown: 140/120/100|| Cost: 150

After 1 second of channeling, Riman explodes the aura on his weapons, slowing down all units (including allies) within 450 units by 70/85/95% for 1.5 seconds. After 0.5 second, Riman then thrust him sword down at the ground, stunning all enemies within 175 radius of him for 1 second and deals 100/150/200(+100 bonus AD)(+15% maximum health) physical damage. Riman can move during all of these actions.

Note: Some strong cc, but the range itself isn’t all that op considering Riman has to use e to get into the heart of battle.

Riman’s Weapons:

Rusty Sword: (5 tiers in total, starts at tier 1)

10/15/20/25/30 attack damage 0.003/0.005/0.007/0.009/0.011 attack speed per level

Unique Passive: Riman gains bonus attack damage equal to 6/8/10/12/14% of the number of Weapon Expertise stacks

Upgrade cost: 700/1000/1400/1700

Note: that attack speed per level is a flat amount. It is the reason why Riman has such a low AS.

Scratched Shield: (5 tiers in total, starts at tier 1)

5/15/25/35/45 armor 5/15/25/35/45 magic resist

Unique Passive: Riman gains 10/10/15/15/20 armor and mr for 2 seconds every time he enters combat with an enemy champion. 50/45/40/35/30 seconds cooldown.

Upgrade cost: 700/1000/1400/1700

Note: This passive gives Riman a lot of power in early game trades, but falls off later in the game.

Broken Armor: (5 tiers in total, starts at tier 1)

100/150/200/250/300 health

Unique Passive: Riman gains 7/9/11/13/15 health and 7/9/11/13/15 mana each time he is damaged by an epic unit, structure, or champion.

Upgrade cost: 700/1000/1400/1700

Note: This passive makes up for his extremely low health growth and mana growth

Important Informations:

  • Currently I feel like his kit doesn’t line up with his lore. Any suggestions to change his lore/gameplay?
  • His current q packs too much power, but considering its short range… it’s okay?

Tips and Combos:

  • Riman can go both tank build or bruiser. He has a lot of survivability with his w and e, but he sacrifices offensive power by using them. item 3078 and item 3004 will probably be his main items due to the mana they provide for him to spam q.

I hope you enjoy this concept! and while you're at it, please help me to complete Moralaeth the Ancient Mage(an enchanter with extradinary zone control)

These are my more completed concepts Narico the Lone Wanderer, a single-handed swordsman that scales quite well. Terro the Runist, the child of the World Runes who hunts people down. and Lax'rah the Voidborn, a furious monster that can use pratically any item

lmao ok so is ee you created this rwby concept of was it jason? or june? its nice seems fairly balanced but i dont like the range on his q i say give it some more range as he gains more expertise (and this is actually a good name you just need to clarify the use of aura in your lore). his R is questionable its nice having 3 parts but the fact that his passive punishes, is that like a way to purposely reduce the stacks so you can get the different effects? if so then i'd say to put this as an active on a basic ability and give the stacks better alternating effects so this can be afar more dynamic champion As always ill help if you ask but thats likely gonna be tomorrow since my house network is down ([cass-cry] sigh i can only get internet at work of if i go to someone else's house).

but again good job*[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]*

(I'm sorry but who are jason and june?)

whaaaaaaatt? this guy Jeune from rwby all the charactors are on the page smh

0k bro heres my take on his w:

Passive: Riman gains 6/7/8/9/10% damage reduction to damage taken at his left side (he is holding the shield with his left hand)

Active: [hold] Riman snares himself for up to 3 seconds, gaining 25/30/35(+1 for every 4 armor/magic resist)% damage reduction and locks the cursed in the direction of his shield, this can then be moved to change the direction the shield is facing and becoming immune to crowd control coming from the target direction. Everything he blocks will knock him back 15 units. The passive will be disabled during the active, but is still in effect if the ability is in cooldown. He can recast this to stop the effect.

Weapon Expertise: 0 stacks: Each ability/AA that Riman blocked with the active will grant him 10/12/14/16/18 stacks of Weapon Expertise. 150 stacks: Riman will not snare himself, but he will be knocked back 25/20/15/10/5 units each time he gets hit instead. 250 stacks; riman instantly reflects 30% of the damage he receives in the current direction of his shield. 350 stacks: The damage reduction of his passive will be doubled at all times.

[E] Riman disarms and silences himself for 3/2.7/2.4/2.1/1.8 seconds, and he gains 60 bonus movement speed for 2 seconds able to move through units and over walls. During the disarm duration, Riman loses his w’s passive and stops his w’s active if it is on. “Without the heavy armor, I can run much faster, and those magical things can always find their way back. It’s a win-win! Cheers!”

Weapon Expertise: 100 stacks: Instead of the 60 bonus MS, it becomes a 30% MS steroid. 250 stacks: Riman gains 3/4/5/6/7 bonus MS permanently. 350 stacks: Riman will not be disarmed.

Oh and I actually watched Tokyo Raven a long time ago, but never finished it after the girl died for saving the guy (at episode 20 or something).

I don't like tragedy, but I'll check it out eventually. (Can't really watch anime these days. I'm using a school chromebook lol) :(

Sorry...sorry.

Analysis. That's what I'm supposed to be here for. >.>

Overall, it seems like I missed the most important debates of balance here, but for such a complex design, I don't see it as too overpowering. Definitely one of those late game power creeping types. I think his early game is still probably a bit too undertuned unless you take aggressive, probably unfavorable trades to get early game stacks to be relevant by 6.

Dropping your stuff and running away is comical...but surprisingly effective. xD

And by late game, he's going to be one of a very select few champions to rival the great Susan in a 1v1 (read Susan backwards, and you'll understand why that's impressive.)
