Possible Galio Rework??
So,
Galio... Such an interesting champion, wouldn't you say...? According to his lore, Galio was a guardian, and a peacekeeper, then lost all hope when his master died. I feel like his kit doesn't represent that well, along with being subpar at best (No offense to galio mains, out there, he's kind of fun to play).
That being said, I feel like Galio should be reworked as a support character. It's fitting, right? He dedicated his life to protecting one person, and he failed, but now he has a new purpose in life to protect Demacia and so on and so forth... and I feel like this would be best represented by prepping him for a support role.
As for an idea for the possible rework, this is a potential option--
Here's an idea for a potential Galio rework--
Passive-- Bond of Stone-- Works kind of like a combination of Kalista's Pact and his current W (Well, kind of)-- whenever he takes damage, bonded ally is healed for a portion of this damage (like, say 1/16 of the damage done). I'd rather it be small, since too much healing would be too broken.
Q-- Resolute Smite-- His Q is good poke for a support champion and could probably be kept as is.
W-- Runic Skin-- Passive-- Well, it's his old passive for the most part, with the MR to AP boost, but there's an active to this as well... Active-- Galio's Runic Powers burst in a small area, stunning all enemies in melee range. If his bonded ally is within the range of the stun, he/she gains a small shield that is equal to a portion of Galio's MR. (This isn't exactly the best active I could think of, but it's decent CC, and as long as it has a longer cooldown and a high mana cost, I hope it won't be too overpowered).
E-- Righteous Gust-- His E is still pretty nice, and would be useful for an escaping ADC. As an added bonus, if the Bonded ally is his by Righteous Gust, it removes all CC effects on the ally.
R-- Idol of Duran-- Pretty cool ability as is, and really helps with big Crowd Control (Though for this, I think the AP ratio could be turned down a bit). But now, since the taunted enemies now attack Galio, his passive still activates when targets attack him, making this a major game changing ability.
Yeah, it's just a couple of small changes, it's not like putting a glowstick on Shen or making Graves even more bursty than he was originally, but these tweaks could really make Galio a little more viable. He'd become more of a tanky healer that will protect his bonded ally and his team at all costs-- even if it costs him his life. It'll bring a little more utility to Galio's kit, especially with the E buff and the W rework. He'll have a bit of a weakness of having few engage options beyond a Q-E-W combo to lock down his opponents and a flash ult, but really... there's PLENTY of champions that have a similar strategy to stun their opponents as well. While his kit may not be necessarily unique, it may make the gargoyle a little more viable in competitive play.
Any thoughts to this kit rework? I want as much criticism as possible, I'm still thinking about the whole utility thing that galio has going on in this fan-made rework...
