Shape-shifting spirit champion?

Make the character someone that the "Shape-shifter" has taken hostage into the rift and when he/she/it jumps to an ally/enemy, it leaves the body dormant where it left of that way it couldn't stay on an ally/enemy forever. In doing this you wouldn't have to worry as much about what it looks like, just what hit does ability wise.
