Lore

The harsh cold of the Frejlord tundras groom fierce personalities. It took a great strength of character to survive the climate, which is why Sophius always seemed strange to the mighty men of his tribe. Sophius was unlike other boys, instead of practicing his might in combat with his mates he would stare into the skies and lose himself in imagination. The elders saw much strength in Sophius as he commanded the large oxen with almost as much grace as a full grown man, but he always submitted in combat to his peers. Sophius' losses never truly defeated him, however. With every loss Sophius walked away with a sense of accomplishment. When the elders finally asked the boy why he never defended himself, Sophius replied, "I have won for I can survive without the need to win." Every year Sophius' clan had a tradition of visiting an ancient glacier in the plains to the north. Embedded in the glacier was a sword said to burn like the sun for the truly righteous, cooled only by the magic of an ancient and powerful sorcery. It was said that the one with fire burning in his heart hot enough could wake the blade and free it from its icy prison. Year after year the people tried to demonstrate their passion by delivering a blow to the glacier strong enough to crack its face. The strongest went first, and everyone else eagerly followed trying to prove his or herself the strongest. But Sophius never attempted it in the few short years of his young adulthood. It was naive to think that he could crack the glacier's face if stronger men could not, even if nobody else thought so. It was on the night of one of these rituals. All the people of the village had expended themselves attempting the challenge of the glacier. Sophius sat in the still of the night imagining, as he always did, a less brutal world. His eyes met the glacier, shining a brilliant sky blue through the moonlight. Sophius stood up and walked to the sword. "If only I had the strength to free this sword, I could bring peace to my people", Sophius thought to himself as he glanced down the large blade. As soon as he had finished the thought, a deep fissure rose through the glacier and cracked it in half. The sound was tremendous, and the people all awoke to Sophius wielding a cold blue blade standing next to the cracked remains of the glacier. There was an outrage. Everyone demanded to know how Sophius managed to free the sword. People quickly suspected foul play, if the sword wasn't burning then Sophius was not responsible. They tried moving in on him, demanding he give up the sword. A man swung at the young Sophius with a heavy ax, but as soon as the ax came down the sword beamed a radiant blue light. When the light faded, Sophius was replaced with a large glacial knight holding the attacker gently by the shoulder. After a brief moment the armor dissolved and Sophius reemerged wielding the sword, and the attacker fell unharmed to the ground. From that day nobody questioned Sophius' claim to the blade. The elders said that it was not the fire of passion, but the cold of determination that freed the blade, and that's why the blade took it's icy form.

"Pride is man's downfall; it is a cage, built to imprison the soul from the truth. For how can one become better while shackled to the illusion of perfection that pride bears? So pride becomes a paradox. For how is pride warranted when one is too proud to become better? Through its own existence, pride can never be justified." -Sophius

Items to Consider

item 3004 item 3812 item 3024

Passive: Humility/ Humble Bravado

  • (Both) Sophius contains his strength while attacking, sacrificing offense for defense. Upon attacking 50% of Sophius' Attack Damage is converted into bonus Armor for 2 seconds.
  • (Humility) Every 5th basic attack deals no damage to target and doesn't apply on-hit effects. This attack grants Sophius a shield for 3 seconds based on the damage mitigated in this way.
  • (Humble Bravado) While Inheritance of the Meek is active, Sophius' basic attacks deal bonus AP damage, slow the target and grant Sophius 2% damage reduction for 1.5 seconds stacking up to 5 times.

Q: Pacifist Philosophy

  • Sophius immobilizes and silences himself and target enemy champion for a short time.
  • During this time, Sophius' shield from Just Deliverance does not decay.

W: Just Deliverance

  • Sophius shields himself for a percent of his current maximum Attack Damage. The shield degenerates over time until depleted, shown by a small cooldown circle by the Health bar to distinguish between multiple shields.
  • If Sophius is attacked by an enemy champion or neutral monster while Just Deliverance is in effect, 100% of the damage is blocked and Sophius consumes all shield effects on him and redirects magical damage to the attacker based on the amount of shield consumed.

E: Cold Determination

  • Sophius creates a small blizzard around him that deals (AP) damage and slows enemies within the AOE. While active, Sophius has reduced Movement Speed and spends Mana per second.

Ultimate: Inheritance of the Meek

  • Sophius' sword magically encases him, transforming Sophius into an enormous glacial knight for 10 seconds and replacing his passive, Humility, with Humble Bravado.
  • While Inheritance of the Meek is active, Sophius gains bonus Armor and Magic Resistance, and casting abilities grants a shield for 2 seconds.
