I can see what you were going for in trying to bring back old Swain's look while preserving other aspects of new Swain, but it honestly just looks too much like new Swain to me to say that it accomplishes the former. I don't mean to sound snarky or anything when I say that, but I guess I just can't unsee his long hair and the lower half of his face.
I like your version better. New Swain has too much hair. He should be balding more like his original version.
