Champion Concept - Siegfried
Siegfried is a veteran of war, siding with whoever has the larger coffers, most recently an arms dealer with Noxus. Use of explosives and experience lets him dominate the battlefield. His kit revolves around accurately hitting skills and predicting the opponent's intention for the most benefit using Seigfried's passives.
Visually, Siegfried is an older, muscular, battlescarred man with a large mustache similar to Graves. In his splash art, he would be missing a couple teeth or a finger. He has an old gang insignia tattooed on either his face or shoulder. He wears wartorn bandit-like spiked armor. He has a glove on his right hand with gauntlet-like brass knuckles and hefts a large riot shield in his left. On his back is a brand-new looking mortar setup, his pride and joy.
Passive : Capitalize - Siegfried gains additional effects on his abilities when using them wisely. Effects are listed in each ability individually. _--------------- Additionally, could give Siegfried a small stacking bonus for successfully proccing his passives. _
Q - Fragmentation - Siegfried throws a grenade at the target location that explodes on impact. Deals X (+AD) in physical damage while shredding X armor for X seconds. Armor shred does not stack with itself. Q (During Ultimate) - Mortar Strike - Siegfried launches a mortar at the target location. Has a longer range and longer delay before hitting the ground than Fragmentation, but much shorter cooldown. Siegfried gains vision of enemies struck by Mortar Strike. **Q passive - Reload **- Hitting at least one champion with Fragmentation or Mortar Strike lowers the cooldown by X seconds. _ --------------Alternatively, hitting at least one champion or killing a minion or monster activates reload. ---------------This skill has a long cooldown on its own but allows for occasional trading. Seigfried can hit close range targets with Fragmentation to shred armor followed by melee attacks. Reload's cooldown-lowering attribute is increased at certain levels, likely 6/11/16._
W - Grizzled - Siegfried's experience on the field has given him insight in enemies foul play. Using Grizzled breaks Siegfried out of stun, snare, fear, charm, or taunt and gives him a short window of immunity to silences, blinds, and slows for X seconds. W passive - - Breaking free of a crowd control or successfully blocking gives Siegfried a burst of speed for X seconds. ---------------Like Gangplank's Remove Scurvy, best used in a sticky situation or to make your opponent think they have you, then surprise them. As it does not have the healing effect, it's vital to use it wisely to engage, protecting yourself from pesky slows, or escape, breaking free of that refrigerator snare. ---------------Alternatively, Siegfried also gains an amount of armor and magic resist if he successfully blocks a soft CC.
E - Snapdragon Mines - Siegfried places one of his flamethrower traps at his feet and arming it after .75 seconds. Upon being triggered by an opponent, the Snapdragon fires a cone of fire in the direction of where it was triggered. Enemies take X (+AP) immediate magic damage from the cone and % (+AP) of the targets current health in magic damage over the next X seconds. While Alight, enemies in the fog of war glow, but are not revealed. Snapdragon mines have an increased trigger time based on the distance Siegfried is from the mine. E passive - Vulnerability - Enemies who are alight by a Snapdragon mine are Vulnerable. If Siegfried strikes the target with an autoattack, Fragmentation, or Mortar Strike, the target is stunned. -------------- Alternate passive - Enemies who are alight and struck by a second Snapdragon take additional damage and are slowed. -------------------------Alternatively, enemies do not take additional damage but become visible to Siegfried and allies. -------------- Snapdragon mines do not grant vision. Siegfried and allies can see that the mine has triggered, and that a target is Alight, but not the target's identity. Enemies with different sizes (Cho'Gath vs Fizz) would or would not have different sized glows depending on balance. -------------- Mines would have a trigger time between instant (Siegfried is within X units) and 2 seconds (Siegfried is nowhere to be found). A ring around the mine's base would show its trigger time, a quarter-circle being .5 seconds, half-circle being 1 seconds, full circle being 2 seconds. -------------- I wanted to have more AD-based trap users in the game, as currently we have Shaco and Caitlyn.
R Ultimate - Siege Mode - Siegfried drops his shield the direction given and arms his mortar. Siegfried cannot move or see beyond his shield, blocking 60 degrees of vision behind him. Seigfried takes significantly reduced damage from the direction of his shield. Siegfried is only able to use Mortar Strike from behind the shield, which has higher range and delay than Fragmentation but much shorter cooldown. Seigfried can cancel the stance, but takes a moment to rearm. -------------- This is a toggle ability with a cooldown - Anivia's ultimate as an example. Can be used and disabled instantly, but has a window where she is unable to use it again. -------------- During Siege Mode, Siegfried can output obnoxious damage on the enemy team, but only if he can see them. His own vision is blocked in the direction he can fire Mortar Strike, so he must rely on teammates and wards to accurately gauge the opponents whereabouts. -------------- Between the reduced cooldown of Mortar Strike and his Reload passive, Siegfried can spam mortar shots as long as he has mana. -------------- Siegfried cannot move in his stance and is especially vulnerable to unseen enemies like Evelynn and Wukong or enemies with blinks such as Katarina and Talon. He needs to be protected while in Siege Mode to make the best of it. -------------- Gets cancelled by displacement, but not stuns. Silence prevents Mortar Strike.
Gameplay
Siegfried is a siege master, outputting insane damage if left unhindered. To have the most effect, he would likely build full damage, but his vulnerability during Siege Mode makes him risky into assassins that can close the gap and take him out before his disables Siege Mode. A tankier version could be used, running items such as Black Cleaver, Frozen Heart and Trinity Force. Siegfried likes the cooldown reduction from the former two and allows him to spam more mortars despite the loss of damage. Black Cleaver goes with with Fragmentation/Mortar Strike's armor shred as well. Items like Manamune, Bloodthirster and Youmuus let him get a good combination stats to get in, spam mortars, duel the opponents and get out with Youmuus and Grizzled.
Siegfried relies on hitting frag after frag to reduce his cooldown and be irritating. Missing a Q make his harassing ability drop quickly and gives the opponent an opportunity to jump in unhindered. High-burst champions decimate Siegfried, especially those who do not rely on high CC, like Talon, Katarina and LeBlanc. Toplane champions like Sion and Maokai with multiple forms of CC could potentially just walk up to Siegfried and pester him, healing or shielding the damage.
His ultimate has a disarm time, during which he loses the damage reduction but still cannot move. If he wants to escape, he'll need to do so quickly or champions can pounce while he's vulnerable.
Let me know what you think, feedback and critisism is appreciated. More unique qualities besides Siege Mode and Alight could be added if I come up with something.
