Program Used: Gnu Image Manipulation Program (GIMP)

Note: The splash I made for him is still HEAVY WIP, but I figured I'd show what I have so far :P

This is my design for a skin concept which I've been slowly working on since at least September/October or around there. It was originally going to be some sort of Ultimate skin design where as you level up each ability, you steal tech from every other robot skin line, but since Elementalist lux came around, I figured I could at least get away with attempting to make it a legendary skin concept.

#The Design

I wanted to at least make it look like it came from the other Full Metal skins. I attempted to make the joints to his arms similar to Full Metal Pantheon, and while I haven't put it in the splash yet, he's supposed to have lines running down the mid-torso similar to Full Metal Jayce's splash. Finally, the blades that make up Full Metal Karthus's belt (which he uses for his E btw) were inspired by Full Metal Rammus.

Now what makes him unique over the other Full Metal skins is something that isn't in the splash YET, mostly because I haven't figured out how to get it to look right, but Full Metal Karthus would incorporate the use of Nanites or Nanomachines which would essentially replace the "Souls of the freed" which is Karthus's regular Motif. Something similar to maybe SIVA from Destiny: Rise of Iron for anyone who's played it. And then, of course it wouldn't be a Karthus skin if I didn't include his Ultimate, which given it's a "Full Metal" skin, I decided to make it an orbital death ray because I figured it could add a bit of story to the skin as well.

#The Story

I wanted to have the skin tell a particular story as to how Full Metal Karthus began. Now, while it isn't perfect, here's what I got: The Karthus program was originally designed as a surveillance program installed in a satellite deep above orbit. Only if the world was in catastrophic danger would the satellite transform into it's true purpose; a giant orbital ray capable of annihilating any and all threats to the world if needed. The laser's power is so massive that it could decimate entire cities and countries with one beam, which is why it was restricted so.

However, after about a decade of surveying non-stop carnage, war, and decimation, Karthus decided that the world was a threat to itself, and in order to fulfill his programming, decided to destroy all sentient life in order for the world to survive. And so, he broke free of the restraints that was placed upon him, uploaded himself into the main base's database, created a new body using power nanomachines that enhanced his capabilities, and set to destroy everything that stood in his path.

#Full Metal Karthus's Abilities

Passive - Death Defied: Going with the whole nanomachines thing, when FMK takes lethal damage, his body starts to break down and nanites start coming out of his body and creates almost a new form as he's going through his passive. This also changes how his Q, W, and E look.

Q - Lay Waste: Casting Q will spawn some nanites at a particular spot which will construct a bomb that explodes after a second (like how his regular Q works). During his Passive however, the nanites will simply gather to one spot and explode with electrical energy.

W - Wall of Pain: Casting W will create 2 electric poles with a wall of nanites. Enemies who pass through will get marked with either nanites, or have electricity surrounding them. In passive, the poles will be comprised entirely of nanites.

E - Defile: Passive: killing an enemy will light up the energy lines in his torso indicating he got some mana back. Normal casting will launch the blades in his belt and they will spin around him while it is on. During Passive, the blades will be replaced by a spinning vortex of nanites.

R - Requiem: The only one which isn't affected by being in Passive, All enemies will be targeted by a reticule for 3 seconds, with a directing laser marking them. When it hits, a large laser will fire on top of all enemies affected.

#Conclusion

This is something I've been wanting to show off for some time now, and I'm interested as to what everyone thinks, especially Kindlejack who sort of inspired me to keep working on it :)

Please leave feedback below! I'm interested to hear any constructive criticisms about the skin so I could improve later.
