Champion Concept: Powell, the Benefactor
Role: Ranged AD caster/AD assassin
Suggested lane: Mid-lane, Bot-lane is also an option
Basic theme: Powell is a thief and a scoundrel, and one of the best at that. He runs his own criminal setup to an efficiency that leaves local law enforcement irked to put it lightly. Powell uses an electromagnetic gauntlet that propels objects forward at immense speeds, similar to a rail gun. With this, Powell likes to use the gold he "acquires" as his projectile of choice. All things considered, he has a rather mirthful view on his occupation - in his words, "You have to spend money to make money, and I am quite good at both."
Passive: Return on Investment
- Powell earns an increased amount of passive gold over time, scaling with his bonus attack speed. Powell uses gold pieces to auto-attack, subtracting from his surplus each time he attacks. Powell has no resource bar, instead relying upon his gold for his attacks. Q: Ten-piece Generosity
- Powell throws a spread of ten coins in the target direction, stopping on the first enemy hit and each coin doing its own damage. Coins that hit targets will sometimes rebound several units back and fall to the ground, allowing Powell to pick them up and refund his investment. More coins rebound if a target is killed W: Return Policy
- Powell’s magnetic gauntlet halts incoming attacks for a duration scaling with level. After the duration ends, Powell rapidly throws back any ranged attacks stopped, dealing a portion of his own damage back and costing him no gold. Melee attacks are merely stopped and aren’t returned. E: Dirty Business
- Powell slides a scaling distance in a target direction. If he collides with an enemy champion, the cooldown is reduced and the enemy is stunned for a brief moment and slowed a duration afterward. Return Policy is not canceled by this ability and can be used during the slide. Powell will also pick up any coins along the path and store charges. Reactivating Dirty Business within a short time afterward will cause Powell to use these charges for quick auto-attacks. If not used in this fashion, Powell will instead regain them as gold. R: Risk and Reward
- Powell prepares himself for up to 2 seconds to dash a long distance (taking too much damage will cancel the ability). Along the dash path, any enemy champion hit takes a moderate amount of damage and has an amount of gold stolen from them scaling with ult level. For a limited time after the charge ends, Ten-piece Generosity has a vastly lowered cooldown for as many activations per ten gold pieces stolen. Any stolen gold not used is added to his coffers.
Champion goal: A mid-game powerhouse that still has some late-game strength. His abilities and play-style urge him to go for broke (literally and figuratively) in order to hit the major payout and see his full potential. The idea is a champion that requires careful consideration for when to invest and when to pass on bad opportunities.
"I give what I take before taking it again."
