Not my art. Never gonna be that talented ever.
I have way too much time for this...
Charyn was born with the gift of magic and was trained extensively in the craft. Yet, she found no contentment in practicing simple magics, so she instead wandered Valoran in search for her true calling. Shortly after her journey began, Charyn found herself surrounded in a world of life and death, and in between, Charyn discovered the nature of spirits. Extending her gifts beyond the world of the living and the dead, Charyn reached into the ways of the spirits, learning not only to speak to them, but also to manipulate them, bending their resolve and will.
Abilities: Passive: Aquinas
- Upon death, Charyn's spirit lives on for 5 seconds as a shrine. During this time, Charyn can cast a single ability, granting a final blessing to nearby allied champions before she moves on to the afterlife.
- Prudentia: Nearby allies have all of their cooldowns reduced by 30%.
- Iustitia: Nearby allies gain increased attack damage for 7 seconds.
- Temperantia: Nearby allies are healed for 20% of their maximum health.
- Fortitudo: Nearby allies gain increased movement speed for 7 seconds.
Q: Prudentia
- Charyn calls on the spirits for protection, creating a shield, based on their maximum health, around an allied champion for 5 seconds, and protecting them from incoming damage. A percentage of absorbed damage is reflected toward enemy units in a small area around the source. If an enemy champion is killed by the effects of Prudentia, the wearer of the shield gains the kill. Towers are not affected by this effect.
W: Iustitia
- Charyn projects a blade of light in a target direction, piercing through the spirits of her enemies. The blade deals reduced magic damage to consecutive enemies hit and marks enemy champions for up to 4 seconds. Allied champion basic attacks detonate the marks, dealing a percentage of the target's maximum health in magic damage and slowing them.
E: Temperantia
- Toggle: Charyn surrounds herself with the spirits of the blessed. Nearby allied units are healed per second and gain increased healing from all sources, while rapidly draining a percentage of Charyn's maximum mana. Allied champions with lower than 30% health have increased healing. The longer Temperantia persists, the faster Charyn's own mana drains.
If Charyn's mana reaches 0, Temperantia will begin to drain a percentage of Charyn's own health while activated.
R: Fortitudo
- Calling out to the Gods, Charyn summons the glory of the heavens. After a brief delay, Charyn calls down a barrage of blades of light toward a target area, sanctifying the spirits of allied champions hit by the impact, granting them a 30% of their maximum health as a shield, and bonus armor for 8 seconds. Enemies hit by the blades take magic damage and are marked. (Marks can be detonated, having the same effect as Iustitia)
LORE The soldier fell to his knees, bleeding profusely from the side of his ribs. His shattered sword lay in pieces next to him. Another mistake.
He looked up just in time. A broadsword came crashing down on the soldier, who had only just managed to hide under his shield. Above, the determined face of a Noxian roared as he brought down his weapon once more. The soldier rolled out of the way safely, for now. With a hand on his bloody wound, the soldier gripped his shield tightly.
The Noxian thrust his blade forward, but the soldier narrowly evaded the attack. Spinning, the soldier went in to strike once, strike fast with his shield, but the Noxian rammed a shoulder into the attack, knocking down the soldier once again.
His head was spinning. The soldier could feel the Noxian steel slicing through his neck. He struggled to his knees, taking deep breaths as the Noxian approached, sword in hand. The soldier heaved up his shield, closing his eyes and bracing for impact.
Suddenly, the soldier felt his body ignite. A warm fire kindled inside of him. So... death wasn't so bad after all...
Then he opened his eyes. The Noxian stared at the soldier, mouth hanging open. The soldier looked up. Light of the heavens were falling from the sky. Each one struck a soldier, piercing through his body like a sword. The Noxian swung his broadsword again, clashing with the soldier's shield. FLASH. Pieces of steel glinted in the rays of light as the battle raged on around him.
Allied soldiers tore into their attackers. Blades slashed into flesh. Blood spilled onto the ground. Skulls crushed under boots.
Ahead, the soldier thought he saw a figure clothed in white... untarnished... bloodless...
Determined, the Noxian drew a blade from a fallen comrade, wielding it with the hatred and fury that flowed through Noxus. The soldier himself drew a sword, impaled on the body of another, and held his shield up.
The Noxian struck first. A blade swung aimlessly as the soldier weaved under the attack, striking the Noxian in the face. This new power... it invigorated him. He would not fall so easily this time.
Out of the corner of his eye... a figure in white... drifting through the battle...
Again, the Noxian attacked, but the soldier slammed aside his blade in fury, then thrust his own sword up, tearing through steel and flesh. The Noxian sputtered, blood spewing from his mouth. The soldier forced his blade deeper into the Noxian, his teeth baring in victory...
SHNNK
The soldier cried out. His blood poured like wine from his abdomen as the Noxian pulled out a bloody knife before falling to the ground, dead. The soldier fell as well, once again, as the same pain rushed through his body. Next to him, he looked into the gray eyes of the fallen Noxian, blood seeping from his open mouth. So, death would claim him here. Both of them. A victory for each of them in death... In front of him, a fellow soldier fell on his back, coughing and gurgling as he choked on his own blood. At least he wasn't suffering much...
And then... he saw the white robes flow before his eyes, lightly wandering around him. Looking up, he felt the soft hand of an angel, caressing his face lightly. A woman, with a kind, beautiful face, smiled at him. She seemed to be glowing, illuminated by the light of heaven itself...
"Rise" heard the solder.
Light surrounded his body as he strained to get to his knees. He welcomed death. Let him find peace...
The soldier could breathe once more, taking in deep gulping mouthfuls of air as he managed to rise to his feet. The blood stains on the field trickled back into his wounds as they closed up, leaving not even a scratch. He held his sword and shield with more vigor than he had ever felt before. In front of him, the fallen soldier rose to his feet, the light surrounding him as well. He was coughing out blood, but alive nonetheless...
The soldier turned to face his savior. She smiled gently at him, and pointed at the battle ahead... the carnage... the blood...
"Onward," heard the soldier. "To victory."
He nodded, and with his sword gripped tightly in his hand, the soldier roared as he threw himself back into the fray.
Yes. Victory would be his.
GAMEPLAY Charyn's power comes not from perfectly executed plays, or brilliant timing, but rather a much simpler style of playing of sustain and positioning. For many supports, their power comes from waiting for the perfect opportunity to engage the team or lock down a vital opponent, allowing their allies to quickly follow up. However, Charyn is a support heavily dedicated to the middle of every battle, charging into the fight equipped with the abilities needed for every situation. Those key abilities are always there as any support needs, but her full potential comes from her ability to keep her teammates alive and fighting for as long as they can Charyn is a true support who will fight for her allies to the very end, and beyond.
The virtue of Prudentia allows Charyn and her teammates to fight against the bloodthirsty and punish them. Predictably, Prudentia should be equipped to the most focused allied champion, typically the APC or the ADC, protecting them from incoming attacks while providing damage and advantages throughout. But tanks who rush into the middle of a fight are quite qualified as well. When initiating a fight, a tank is rarely worried about dying than they are about locking down an enemy champion, but they're meant to soak up the damage and the CC first to allow the rest of the team to follow up easily. Here, Charyn comes in with Prudentia, providing a shield that not only soaks up a good amount of damage, but also reflects that damage back to the enemy team.
The virtue of Iustitia is Charyn's main source of damage and poke in both lane and teamfights. With a fair range, Charyn can poke down enemy champions from afar with little damage, but additionally provides a mark for her allies to finish off. With such a simple tactic, it would be nearly unforgiving to miss an opportunity such as this. Aim and mark the most vulnerable of enemies to give your teammates a chance to burst them down quickly.
The virtue of Temperantia is a risky but promising ability. Charyn is able to provide a constant heal per second to herself and her allies, making this ability immensely important in any teamfight. Of course, there must be a price to pay. Charyn drains her own mana to heal her teammates, then begins draining her own health. Failing to use this ability efficiently and carefully may cost Charyn her abilities, as well as her life. Using Temperantia along with Fortitudo may provide a powerful AOE effect for maximum survival in battle.
The virtue of Fortitudo provides an edge in any teamfight. Timing is unfortunately an issue with Fortitudo, although it is most definitely not an ability to initiate with (lacking damage and CC such as stun or root). Instead, this ability is the follow-up to any initiation, granting allied champions a massive armor bonus to continue fighting. Immediate use of this ability may cost Charyn's team the sustain required for a teamfight, so Charyn requires patience for Fortitudo's maximum effect. There is no ingenuity to this ability, other than common sense. Of course, the placement of Fortitudo may mean life or death for all champions. A well-positioned spot may provide the sustain to fight against a stronger enemy team, or the damage and slow to break apart a fleeing enemy team.
With Charyn's abilities of sustain, there is no doubt that she will be focused as a crucial target in any fight. Although not too squishy, Charyn is no tank, and she needs to be careful about her positioning in battle. But even in death, Charyn's spirit has yet to break, even in death. Aquinas allows Charyn to grant her team one, final blessing before dying, one that may just be the magic they needed. Providing a cooldown boost, a damage boost, a heal, or a movement speed boost, Charyn can bless her allies one last time, showing just how dedicated Charyn is to supporting her allies.
