Skin and Chroma selection.

I noticed something with the new client versus the old Legacy client that's been bothering me. In the old client after you chose your character you could select skins and chromas until everyone was done, the ten seconds would hit, and the game would load. In the new client, you only have ten seconds to not only select the skin but also the chromas.

Can anyone explain why that revamp happened or will it ever go back to allowing more time to select such things?
