What is the reason behind holding back skin releases?

This is not quite another 'GIBE ARCLIGHT VAYNE SKIN'.

Instead I just want to know — why skins got announced in patch notes, but can't be released in the first week after patch went live? I probably know why you don't release Shurima themed skins, since you've added Fiddlesticks this PBE cycle, and I thought that you might wanna make another Shurima-themed event with a featured gamemode and release skins along with it.

But why Arclight Vayne was put on hold for two weeks now? She doesn't seem to be tied with anything particular.

I just wonder why RIOT sometimes do not release skins when League's players are hyped the most. It seems like the best idea to give it to the players when they really want it, and not when the hype is over and some of them might even forget about it.

Is it because you want to sell Omega Squad Teemo (in this case) and give people some window to save some money for their next potential buy?

If i'm correct, out of what i've read Rioters say about this said occurrence: They try their best to refrain from giving us exact dates because they don't want us to be disappointed if they can't come out with it on that exact time due to restraints, that being said. If a skin like AL Vayne isn't out by now, they're doing some fine tuning to ensure the skin works correctly, everything is synced, and make sure no texture problems are left in it. I'm assuming they're still fixing the skin if its taking this long to release it.

To build up hype. More hype = more money.

I remember this being as issue with a particular skin late last year, although I don't recall which one.

Riot had responded saying that they were ironing out a few minor bugs.

Sorry I don't have links or anything.

My guess would be exposure. Not all players keep up on the skin rotation on the PBE. This causes some players first exposure to a new skin to be from the patch notes or launcher news feed. Riot also has a tendency to give a price reduction on many skins the first week of their release.

Giving a time period where all players have exposure to upcoming skins allows everyone to take some time to make a decision if they want to buy it immediately while there is a sale, or pass on the skin without it becoming as much of a pressure buying decision.
