Malphite evolutions like kayn

Malphite has a passive with his w ability that gives him ALOT of extra armor so i was thinking that he wouldn't get this passive until he evolves like kayn kind of, but you evolve to have a w passive that either gives you extra mr or extra armor depending on what you build first.
