Gun Goddess Miss Fortune Impression

Hello,

Wasn't planning on getting the skin in the first place, but my friend gifted it to me so I've been playing MF in normals since. My first impression is that I loved the skin. The new animations, VO, splash art, music, etc. were all fantastic, but then I remembered the price point and the tier of the skin. For an ultimate skin, it's kind of underwhelming. GG MF does change the character a lot, as skins are supposed to do, but not in a way where it changes the gameplay or feel of the character. I know riot team stated this in the "State of skins / Dev diary" and offered GG MF at a lower price, but it seems like Riot is aware of the lack of creativity GG MF has brought to the table and decided to carry on with the release of the skin anyway. In the Dev diary it talks about old tech being re-used, but if that's the case shouldn't GG MF be on the same tier as Elementalist lux? And why not spend more time making GG MF unique by making the idle, AA, and walk animations different from base MF if you're are already familiar with the tech.

"(...)but because we were able to take advantage of the tech we've already built, she doesn't bring that something new that other ultimates have(...)"

It seems like riot wanted to admit to the public 'in advance' that they did a rushed job on a skin in order to avoid another '2015 SKT skin fiasco'. The "/Dev diary" seems like Riot's way of expressing that they are not interested in adding more to GG MF and will NOT even consider listening to community feedback on how GG MF could meet the standard of an ultimate skin. The adjustment of 2015 SKT skins was a respectable move and I only ask that you only 'reconsider' doing the same in order properly celebrate the release of a new Ultimate skin, not some knock-off one.

In the next section of Epic skin section of "State of skins / Dev diary" riot states that the reason for the lack of low tier skins this year is pretty much because of higher fan expectations.

"(...)as the quality gone up, so have your expectations(...)"

In regards to Ultimate skins, GG MF's quality is lower and has not met ours and your (Riot) expectations of what an ultimate skin is supposed to be like. Offering a lower price is pretty much admitting that. Honestly, my only strife with GG MF is that it's labeled as an ultimate tier skin. It could have been a REALLY impressive Legendary, but instead, it's a disappointing Ultimate. At best it's a legendary skin with interchangeable chromas in-game. Ultimate skins should be groundbreaking and should be kept to the standard that Riot first set off with. I'd rather wait for a proper Ultimate than have more ultimates of varying quality. Now when fans hear an announcement for an Ultimate skin, now we have to consider whether it's Higher or lower tier.

It's a shame though because whenever I play as GG MF I feel that I need to change chromas multiple times in order to make the most of the skin. I honestly like the base GG MF skin the best, but if I only stick with one wouldn't it just be a legendary? Besides the change in color scheme and subtle changes in animation, all the transformations feel the same.

But hey, I got the skin for free so I shouldn't be complaining. It's just sad to me that after finally getting an ultimate skin, I've been cheated from the experience that previous Ultimate skins have offered. Again I only ask that you only 'reconsider' adding more to GG MF and not have a two-tier of ultimate skins. I bet the whole community would agree that rather than more frequent ultimate skins that they'd prefer quality over quantity.
