Elatha, The Eclipsed Prince

A male Lunari equivalent to Diana, so that the pairing of Pantheon and Leona has a Lunari male counterpart. Im envisioning a full blown release event similar to the Freljord event or Ascension for Azir with his release, as this would rekindle a massive civil war for the inhabitants and allies of Mount Targon from ages past.

I present to you, Elatha, the Eclipsed Prince

Passive: Lunar Blessing - Elatha's consecutive basic attacks against the same target mark them with a phase of the moon, 1st Quarter/Half/3rd Quarter/Full, lasting up to 3 seconds. When the target reaches a Full Moon the target takes an extra (10 + 5 x Level) physical damage and Elatha gains Lunar Blessing for 5 seconds.

Lunar Renewal - Elatha gains a protective sheild equal to 10% of his current health for up to 5 seconds. This ability has a 30 second cooldown.

Completely changed the passive. The old one was too much of a logistical nightmare to code, and was very confusing.

Now it is simple and easy, a stacking debuff that deals a small amount of bonus damage and gives bonus sustain for trades/jungle survival.

Q: Parallax Strike - Elatha winds up a powerful strike and then slashes his weapon across a circular shaped area of the battlefield infront him, dealing physical damage and pushing enemies between 100-200 units in the direction chosen when cast. Enemies struck by the attack take up to 100% more damage the closer to the origin of the slash they are.

Mana Cost: 65/70/75/80/85 Cooldown: 9 seconds Push Distance: (distance is further the closer to the origin of the attack) Damage: 70/90/110/130/150 (+100% Bonus AD)(+40% AP) near the origin to 35/45/55/65/75 (+50% Bonus AD)(+20% AP) near the end point.

Slightly tweaked the cast particle and effected area a bit, but kept the ability functionally the same.

Functions Like Thresh's Flay as far as the casting method, but the targeted area is a Circular area directly beside him, approximately the same width as Darius's Q. Now, instead of pulling/pushing to or from Elatha, the skill moves those hit at right angles relevant to Elatha's position.

W: Terrashine - Elatha coats himself with a protective cloak of radiant moonlight gaining 12/24/36/58/60 bonus armor and 12/24/36/58/60 bonus Magic Resist for 4 seconds. While active, enemies in the area surrounding Elatha take 12/18/24/32/38 (+10% Bonus AD)(+5% AP) magic damage per second. While under the effects of Terrashine, attacking an enemy champion or jungle monster will extend the duration by 1 second up to a maximum of 12 seconds.

Mana Cost: 75 Cooldown: 24 seconds Area of Effect: 325 units

Renamed and removed the enemy targeting function. Now is a tank stat self buff, and a Sunfire Cape-esque burn AoE while it is active.

Added the ability to extend duration via staying in combat.

E: Ephemeral Scythe - Elatha attacks with a large crecent-shaped scythe, which is capable of piercing even the thickest protections. Elatha passively gains Armor and Magic Penetration. He may activate this skill to cause his next basic attack to deal bonus damage based on the targets' current health.

Passive: Elatha gains 5/10/15/20/25 flat Armor and Magic Penetration. Active: Elatha's next basic attack deals additional magic damage equal to 10/20/30/40/50(+1.5/2.5/3.5/4.5/5.5%) of the targets current health.

Mana Cost: 40 Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14 seconds

Removed the Shadow Clone copying spells/attacks and changed to a small passive stat boost and a next attack modifier to emphasize a build focusing on Sheen's line of items.

R: Grand Conjunction - Elatha manipulates lunar gravity and creates a powerful tether between himself and a targeted enemy champion. The link lasts for up to 5 seconds and deals between 25/50/75 (+50% AP) and 50/100/150 (+50% AP) magic damage each second while the tether is maintained. While the tether is up, Elatha gains 10/20/30% Bonus Movespeed when moving towards the tethered champion. The closer the target is to Elatha, the more damage they take. If the link is broken before the duration is finished, the target is stunned for 1.5 seconds.

Mana Cost: 100/125/150 Cooldown: 150/120/90 seconds Cast Range: 750 units Max Tether Range: 1000 units

Brand new ultimate.

No longer gives him a map ranged teleport/massive CC tool, and actually fits his Lunari theme.

Some backstory to explain his origins and where he has been.

Lore: Sealed for centuries within an ancient prison in the depths of Mt. Targon by those who would become known as the modern day Solari, Elatha, the Eclipsing Prince's bindings were weakened one night during a Full Moon as he felt a familiar power surge forth above him. Sensing that he was no longer alone in the world, he began the eternal struggle to break free of his bonds once again. His attempts were fruitless, as he felt the familiar power fade away from above.

Some months passed, until he once again felt the presence of the unknown brother he felt before. This time, the source of these feelings was much closer, almost right beside him. That was when the great stone door, reinforced with the very essence of the Sun crumbled from the wall, cleany split in two by a single stroke of a blade. Through the dust strode a small figure, donning the familar black armor of his people, and weilding the Moonsilver Sword his father had created a millenia prior, but the figure was a woman, and one of the Solari no less!

"Who are you, intruder!?" he roared, insulted by the defilement of his relics at the hands of a Solari. "Leave my peoples relics and begone from this place, your kind has no business here!"

"Silence, fool!" the woman quipped defiantly. "If you wish freedom, I would not insult your would be savior. Much has changed in the centuries since you've been sealed away."

With that, Elatha swallowed his response, curious as to the meaning of this womans words. As he watched, the woman approached each of the Solar Crystals arranged around the chamber inspecting them impatiently, before moving on to another. Until finally, she found the main refractor, which contained the source of the Solar energy powering the prison. She manipulated it carefully, causing all of the light within the chamber to fade away, blanketing the entire room in darkness. Then in a burst of Lunar energy, she channeled a spell into the crystal, causing it to glow bright white with the energy of the Moon, which in turn was spread throughout all of the crystals in the prison.

Sensing the familiarity of the new energy source, Elatha chuckled in almost childish excitement, as he effortlessly strode through the Lunar-infused crystals, no longer held back by the Solar energy. Retrieving his own armor and a scythe enshrouded in pure darkness from a nearby alcove, he turned to face the woman.

"Come sister, you have much to explain of the state of my Kingdom."

Kneeling before him, she answered, "As you command, my Prince." With that, he took her by the hand and lept through the darkness to the outside, bathing in the natural moonlight for the first time in nearly 1000 years."

Quote - "The Usurpers locked me away, forgotten to time. Soon, !"a Blood Moon shall rise to greet their shattered bodies."

Hoping to soon come back and edit the OP with suggested item builds, and possibly pictures/icons for the abilities. Id really like to make this as pretty as possible, so its not just a wall of text.

I like the concept of a male counterpart to Diana, but there would also need to be one for Leona because Pantheon isn't actually what you imply he is. They were both born to the Rakkor tribe, yes, but Leona refused to go the the Rite of Kor (I believe that's what it's called) and unleashed her solar powers for the first time. That is when the Solari came to bring her to their lands and train her to what she is now. I also enjoy the idea of another event like the Bilgewater event or the Freljord event. I was around for both, but I didn't have the chance to participate in the latter unfortunately.

As for the abilities, most of them sound reasonable, but the mana costs seem rather high, especially if one must itemize on AD and AP to get full use of the suggested passive. Speaking of, the passive feels rather confusing to me, but it is a very interesting concept and I applaud you for the idea. His Ulti, however, doesn't really click with me... A global DoT that bases off his attack damage and speed for up to 6 seconds with a total of 210% of his attack damage assuming an exact 1.0 attack speed, but could be up to 525% with 2.5. Not to mention it has essentially a global Nocturne Ulti effect with up to 1300 damage and a flee effect. I understand where you came up with it, but it doesn't really fit with the rest of his kit. His basic abilities make him a control mage almost, but the ultimate is more fitting of an assassin. Another tweak I would suggest is mentioning that with he E, while it is on cooldown, the passive will not proc, much like Master Yi's E.

Overall though, I really like the idea. :3

EDIT: Upon posting I realized this is a book, so I'll put a rude, harsh sounding TL:DR at the end, details are in the book, hopefully the formatting and spacing isn't too hard on the eyes.

I really like the idea for a male ally for diana. However, apart from his passive and his Q (which are aresome), this guy isn't that person. You keep talking about shadows and shadow manipulation and while the moon does come out at night, it doesn't really have a whole lot to do with shadows. Diana's attacks are still light based, so I have a hard time saying that this guy and diana would be that similar. Your champion sounds much more like a vampire type dude at home on the shadow isles (or perhaps ionia, they are pretty mystical there) then he does from diana's area. Then the shadow manipulation makes a bit more sense.

That being said, its a really good champion design that I think is really cool; just not exactly what you were aiming for.

That passive is unique and really really cool, but does have some problems.

First, we really have to look at the penetration passive closely and see if something like this is okay. I mean, you're basically giving a voidstaff and last whisper free of charge. That's INSANELY powerful and frankly probably enough of a passive as is, and a broken one at that.

Second, I'm assuming that his abilities don't have hybrid ratios, but rather has either the bonus ad or the ap ratio depending on the passive. I'm concerned he won't have the damage output he needs depending on what time you get into a fight. I realize managing his passive is part of the point, and that his Q and his W have utility outside of damage, but despite this I think he will be worse off. Basically I don't think he has enough item slots (or gold income) to support a passive with this many moving parts that require large amounts of ad and ap; he can't optimize at all and will suffer for it.

I like the idea of the changing damage type, but honestly, to me, thats where the passive should stop. This will allow you to streamline a build for him that is still unique from every other champion, but doesn't gimp him for 3 minute periods of time. Play with his ratios right with just this passive, and you might see an essance reaver and a deathcap on the same champ. I think this is the kinda idea you were going for, but overcomplicated it.

Of course, if you take my opinion about the passive or not, you still have to deal with the clarity problem. How to you intend to communicate to opponents (and allies) what state he is currently in? For your passive, it would matter a LOT, because your damage is gimped, and thats a "go" moment for the enemy and a "run like hell" moment for your team. I could go on with reasons why this is important to communicate, but I won't and I'll hope that I got the message across.

I think the W is good, except for the cool down. If you are blinding a target for 3 seconds, and have 40% cdr, you can keep them almost perpetually with 375 range. That is beyond overpowered. Cool down needs to be 20 seconds ish at least, and half that (10 seconds) for the self cast.

I have a bunch to say about his ultimate. R seems a little overpowered. Okay I lied a lot overpowered.

First, a question. You say the first part is damage every second as a multiple of his damage. Well, I have to ask, what damage? His attack damage? His ability power? That is obscure because of the way you have structured his passive. This first part of the ultimate would need its own damage (base and scaling) because otherwise its impossible to tell what that multiplier is multiplying; and that makes it really hard to tell how much damage is actually being done.

That being said, this ultimate is global damage to everyone on the enemy team, followed by vision on enemy champions (essentially), MORE damage (at least its only one one person now, kappa), hard cc, and a global blink (to said enemy). You just combined karthus ultimate, hecarim ultimate, and twisted fate ultimate into a single ability. HOLY HELL. Just no. I'm sorry, but no. I mean maybe, if the ability had a 10 minute cool down. But even then.

All jokes aside, its hard to tell how much damage this ultimate is doing (because of what I mentioned in my question), but at this point I don't think it matters. This might sound like I'm being rude, but rework the ultimate. Thin it out, a lot. Or change it completely. If you like the idea of the channel and summon shadows to hit all enemy members, keep that, but remember it needs to be on about a 3 minute cool down scaling down to 2.5 minutes (karthus cool down times).

As I said in the very beginning, it really looks like you have made a vampire-esc champion here. With that in mind, I think it would be cool to see him summon shadows to attack an area before he himself crashes down into it (dropping the global idea here completely). Hell, you could even toss in some AOE CC to the mix here (fear all the enemies away when he lands, though again this is frighteningly similar to hecarim's ulti).

Either way, this ultimate cannot be allowed on any kit, not just this champs. Looking forward to new ideas about it!

TL:DR

Lore/Origin/Champion identity issues.

Passive is overly complicated, with parts being completely overpowered and other parts leaving the champion exceptionally weak. Also has clarity problems for both teams.

W too strong.

Ultimate BROKEN AS ALL HOLY HELL.

Now completely reworked, and brought in line with the intended identity of a Lunari Juggernaut. I rewrote/rebalanced a lot of his skills to no longer be a 100% Hybrid, he now can scale off of both AD/AP to allow more customized builds and different playstyles.
