A Vastyan serpentine race born in the rough seas around Bilgewater, Wen Shing and her kin, have formed a pact with the Shadow Order. In order to defend themselves against the pirates that plague their waters. They agreed to be trained and armed by the Shadow Order, in exchange, they act as messengers, quickly relaying messages across Runeterra, and manning the Shadow Order's navel fleet. In the aims of retrieving an eternally burning Ionian blade that was stolen by the infamous Gangplank.

Wen Shing was a charismatic serpent in her youth, often indulging in the ways of the humans; drinking, stealing, fighting, loving. Some say she even seduced two demons at the same time. She mothered five children over her life, and finally began to settle into her motherly role in her later years. That is, until her village was caught in the crossfire of a war between the pirates.

When the battle was over, her village was buried under a mountain of broken ships and her people grew sick from the oil and grime that now filled the water. Wen Shing took charge of the reconstruction efforts, using her connections with the pirates above to trade what they could salvage from the wreckage for supplies and medicine, but the turmoil of the war seemed to upend Bilgewater itself. Which is what turned her to Ionia.

There she met with members of the Shadow Order, who heard of her plight and offered a solution to their problem. She agreed. Now she commands Zed's fleet of ships, and revels in her task of delivering Gangplank's head to Zed personally. No pirate, Ionian, or Vastyan is safe from Wen Shing, the Shadow of the Sea.
