Support Role Improvements

Hey fellow summoners and Riot employees! I want to discuss real quick about support improvements. I know riot wants support to be a more utilized role, however as we know its not very popular. I have some suggestions to make it better. Even if they don't happen i thought id just like to bring attention to them. As we know supports don't have the best income and some don't have the best laneing phase. We see champs that are not supports being played as supports, and some supports are being played else where. This separates the support role into a cluster of what its not supposed to be. Riot has made small improvements as they tried opening new items to the support role. This however is not enough. Supports don't get enough credit for what they can do and these changes haven't done much. In my personal opinion as a support main i believe riot needs to work on introducing new supports to the game. This would open eyes to trying Support more and probably make it more fun as well as giving people the chance to go support more. I actually looked at it and the support role has the lowest champ pool. this makes support bland and boring. So if you are a support main like myself or have wanted to try it and see if you'd like it but think it looks boring. All riot needs to do in my opinion is introduce more support based champs.

While I do agree with everything you say as a fellow support main, you did get one thing just a little bit wrong, supports don't actually have the smallest champion pool. Well, technically they do when it you count them by class but when count them by intended role, ADCs actually have the smallest champion pool at 15. While yes they're only 13 champions who have Support as their primary, you forget there's also Zyra, Morgana, and Karma, Mages that are intended to be played support which then bumps it up to 16. Then there's also Leona, Blitzcrank, Alistair, and maybe Nautilus who are all Tanks but are intended for Support which then increase it to 19 or 20 if you count Nautilus. Overall though, I still do agree with what you said and wish they would make a new support champion. In season 6 they made Taliyah, who can be played support but is intended to be played mid lane, and Ivern, who can also be played support but is intended to be played in the jungle. Another issue that I think is the reason few people play support is that even in the official art Supports get very little recognition. In almost all the official art they only show tank supports such as Blitzcrank and Alistair and even then it's rare that they're shown. They've released over 5 cinematics but only in "A New Dawn" did they actually have Support champions in them, which was Leona, another tank, and Zyra, which a lot of people still refuse to accept is a Support champion. If Riot would just show off the huge spectrum of Support champions, like Soraka and Janna who are some of the oldest champions in game but haven't been seen in any cinematics or official artworks, then maybe more people would play support. Another thing that I think is a reason not many people play support is because Riot seems to favor Tank Supports above all else, seeing as they're the only ones that get featured. I actually made a Support Champion Concept called Animi, although it's not that good.
