Champion Concept: Cha'Khan, The Harbinger of Chaos

Note: Due to comments that I have received, I have decided to rename to alter the lore. Cha'Khan's new name is Cryx.

Lore Long ago, there was a great Targonian warrior. This warrior valued strength and power. One day, he decided to scale the great mountain of Targon to prove himself to the aspects. Once he finally reached the top, the aspects recognized him from a premonition. It was long ago predicted that Targon will fall, and by the hands of one of its own warriors. In order to prevent this future from happening, the aspects denied him their power. Instead, the aspect of twilight teleported him back to the mountain's base. Then all of the aspects communed with the rest of the citizens of Targon, telling them that the warrior is banned from the mountain and should never be allowed to set foot on it again.

The warrior was furious. He scaled the mountain, and all he got was getting cast out of his own home. As he let out his anger on the forest that surrounds him, he heard a bestial voice. The voice promised him the power that he craved, but in exchange he must pledge his eternal servitude. He eagerly accepted. It was at that moment that a small hole in the sky ripped open. A crystal flew out of the hole, plunging itself into the warrior's chest. Chaotic energy flowed throughout the warrior's body from the crystal. Purple tattoos grew out from the crystal like lines. His skin turned a deep blue. His eyes turned red and his pupils became slanted like a snake's. His hair wildly grew to past his shoulders. The chaotic energy even flooded into the warrior's mind. Luckily, his will held.

Once the transformation was complete, his new master explained to him his power and purpose. The crystal fed off chaos and destruction. By feeding the crystal, his power will grow. The crystal also grants him the power to open rifts, summoning monsters to assist him in his carnage. His goal is to open a purpose was to open a rift as large as the mountain he had just climbed in order to summon his new master. Unfortunately, the crystal alone cannot open a rift large enough. He required the help of others that bare a power of similar origin. The master commanded his servant to find such beings.

The warrior decided to take on a new name. He named himself Cryx, in honor of the crystal that was the source of his power. Cryx destroyed countless civilizations during his journey, all to feed the crystal so that he can grow his power. The aspects of Targon caught wind of the warrior's destructive rampage. The aspect of war went himself to stop him the warrior. The battle went on for 3 days and 3 nights before the other aspects had realized that the two were evenly matched. The aspect of order elected to seal Cryx away. The rest of the aspects were in agreement. With the motion passed, all of the aspects that were present combined their power, creating the Chains of Eternity. Two sets blessed chains that can never break, bend, rust, or be destroyed in any other way imaginable.

With the Chains of Eternity in hand, the aspect of order rushed to the battlefield. By the time he arrived the terrain was already reduced to a desert wasteland. On top of that, the battle had started to turn to Cryx's favor. With no time to hesitate, the aspect of order cast a spell that used to Chains of Eternity to permanently bind Cryx to the only solid object around, a single boulder the size of a mortal dwelling. After that, the aspect of twilight appeared and took the chance to cast another spell upon the once proud warrior of Targon, putting him into a long slumber. All around you will see a baron wasteland. That battlefield would later be known as Shurima. The aspects believed that the nightmare was over, but time had other plans. Over the years, the boulder eroded and on rare occasions some of Cryx's power would leak out and a rift would open in a random location. The creatures that crept out of the rifts would wreak havoc. Since they were Cryx was the one who summoned them, the chaos they weaved would then feed the crystal. This allowed him to live for eons, until the day that he was free.

Fast forward to today, when a pleased Malzahar had finally discovered the Cryx's Tomb. His masters told him of another with powers similar to his own, and of how he was been bound by indestructible chains for eons. The bindings has recently loosened enough to escape, but he is still under the sleep spell. Malzahar was given the honor of waking him up, and explain to him all that happened while he slept.

Abilities Note: in regards to the damage dealt by the Q and the W, I have removed the base damage to make them more reliant on the amount of Chaos spent. C=Chaos Spent. I have also moved W's original passive to the primary passive, and also lowered the effectiveness in order to make it more balanced. I have also reworked the Infused effect. How it was before didn't really sit right with me.

Passive: Harbinger of Chaos Cryx uses Chaos to activate his void ability. Leaving combat will not cause him to lose Chaos. Base maximum Chaos: 200 Cryx builds up Chaos in the following ways:

  • Generates 10% of maximum Chaos per second while in combat.

  • Kills a non-champion enemy or non-epic monster: 10 Chaos
  • Hits an enemy champion or epic monster with a basic attack: 10 Chaos
  • Destroys a structure: 50 Chaos
  • Gains an assist on an enemy champion or epic monster: 50 Chaos
  • Gains a kill on an enemy champion or epic monster: 100 Chaos

Q: Void Lance Cost: 50% of current Chaos CD: 3 seconds Range: 600 units Cryx hurls a spear made of chaotic void energy at a target, dealing (1/2/3/4/5 C) (+0.4 AD)(+0.8 AP) magic damage. Infused targets take double damage and will no longer be Infused.

If it hits an enemy, he will pull himself to it to deal 80/90/100/110/120 (+0.4 AD) and gain a 160/180/200/220/240 (+0.8 AD) health shield for 5 seconds and generate 25 Chaos. This ability cannot be cast while the shield is active. If used on a Infused unit, Cryx will become healed for half of his missing health.

R: Giant Void Tear Cost: 100 Chaos CD: None Passive Increase maximum Chaos by 100/200/300. **Active ** Cryx tears open a hole in the fabric of reality, allowing a large Void Beast to assist him in battle. The Void Beast will travel down the closest lane and attack all enemies it encounters. Enemy Champions within 300 units of the Void Beast are grounded. If summoned while Cryx is battling an epic monster, it will assist him before traveling to the closest lane. Void Beasts deal double damage to structures and Infused units. Void Beasts will focus Infused units. If two or more Void Beasts are to come into visual contact of each other, they will begin to fight each other and ignore everything else, even if there is an Infused unit to focus on.

Void Beast Stats: Health: 1200/1800/2400 (+0.6 AD)(+0.8 AP) Damage: 200/400/600 (+0.2 AD)(+0.4 AP) physical damage Range: 250 units AS: 0.864 attacks per second MS: 400 units If you are targeting a Voidborn ally when you activate this ability, you will instead summon that ally from anywhere on the map to Cryx's location. Again, I welcome any commentary you may have. It proves to be a major help in the development of my concepts.
