About Quinn's ult, a suggestion.
So, I was reading up on some red posts recently from Surrender @ 20. There was some talk about Quinn and where she currently fits into the game and her theme as a scout not being played out well with the ultimate (having a satisfying theme).
Before you go changing everything about Quinn, first let me say I really enjoy the character already. She's one of my favorite ADC's in the game (used to be old Graves, but he's a jungler now). Her other abilities besides the ultimate feel really good to use and have strong high and low points. Using the W to grant vision, landing a good Q, and alternating your abilities to keep tagging enemies with your passive are all cool things about Quinn and how she works.
If you are going to change any one big thing about her just go back to the ult. She became a top lane staple because her ultimate allows her so much mobility. Take that away from her and she won't go top as much. Frankly I think it's OK if she goes top sometimes when it's a really good match up, but she shouldn't necessarily live up there.
Which brings me to my second point. You want her to play more as a scout and have some team fight strength right? Typical ADC stuff. Also, the bird needs to be included more instead of being used as a taxi. I think the best way to do this is to take a note from Swains new kit. Swains new W, the giant eye, is a useful scouting tool and shows how an ability that can be used to scout enemies in fog of war has some strength. Give her an ultimate that summons Valor to swoop down across an area nearby in an extended arc. Give the cast range just beyond the area you can actually see, Valor harasses enemies hit in that area and mark those opponents and reveal them. Allies who hit marked targets get to use Quinn's passive proc for themselves.
This would give her better team fight, and combo well with her W (use the W first to gain vision of where your firing off your ultimate). It doesn't give her that much extra strength because it's better for your team vs. just giving her more burst (the damage doesn't have to be high, the proc is the important part and granting it to your team). Added to that because the cast range would be longer distance than her autos it would be used for engage or running down an enemy opponent rather than straight damage increase. Also, Valor finally gets to do something extra besides being a taxi.
The current ult is cool, but also rewards being a ranged assassin more than being an ADC with hyper mobility, burst, and likely being away from your team/alone. As an ADC Quinn already has a useful place as a bully to some short range ADC's early on in the game.
However, I'm not an ADC main, but I wanted to throw the idea out there because frankly I'd love to play more Quinn (preferably not in top lane).
