The duality of champions
Riot, it seems, loves the two-champs-in-one model. Kindred, Kayn, the Xeyah/Rakan release, in a small way Nunu. I don't have anything to say about that, but I think there's another duality they ought to pursue, and that's abilities that change based on role.
I've been playing a bit more Ivern, and while I get that they wanted a support jungler (and I think that was successful), not giving him a laning option (imo) was not good. There's a ton you could debate here, but I'll cut to the point, Ivern's abilities work great in the jungle and I think they ride a great balance of being OP and being garbage. Admittedly, Daisey's pathing still boggles my mind, but overall I think Ivern is well executed.
But I'd love a rework where if he queues for support (or non-jungle role) abilities are swapped out. To give specifics (though not suggestions), he's be given a ranked attack with a bit longer range if he's laning, and his passive would no longer "jungle" for him, but do something forest-related (MS in the jungle?) that works thematically.
While there are plenty of other character that could do this, we're approaching a point with the champ pool that people are interested in trying new things out, giving people more options was never a bad choice to begin with. I get that a retcon of his abilities probably won't happen, but in the development stage of future champs, I think this duality ought to be pursued over the "two champs" option that currently holds sway.
