How Did You (Riot) Screw That One Up SO Badly?

So, everyone has heard the outrage, everyone has been part of it themselves, but I'm here to ask the real questions...

How, in the hell, did you think Project: Zed was a better idea than Project: Diana?

Like, you even gave yourselves the perfect setup by making a Project: Leona skin.... Now I understand that you essentially made a team comp into a skin comp, and I understand that Zed needed a new skin as well, but you couldn't have given Zed his own special, just-for-him skin, and added Diana into the Project lineup? Come on guys, I thought you were better than this....
