Drake rework concept
I mentioned this to riot in a ticket once and the guy on the other end thought it was really cool and to post the idea here. I thought it would be cool if each elemental drake had its own spawn mechanic. Some possible ideas i have had is... -Fire drake= Hits the dragon pit in an explosion like a meteor from the sky with fire and stuff -Water drake= swims up from the river and bursts out the water in the pit, a bit like a shark you can see its spines swimming through the water like when the current dragon lands on the side of the pit but you can't hit it. Also a possibility of it climbing out of a whirlpool or something -Air drake= Something close to the current spawn where it flies in, maybe make it a bit more flashy and regal with it stirring up the water with its wing force maybe -Earth drake= Smashes its way out from the wall inside the dragon pit, a bit like it tunnelled up from the ground and out into the pit from the wall -Elder drake= I'm not sure about this one, maybe something to do with battling another drake and defeating it or something, i would love to see anyone elses thoughts.
If these were to change it would also be cool to change the visual styles of the drakes based on their element. For example, the water drake could lose its wings and gains fins over its body giving it a more swimming and streamlined appearance. Earth could have large forearms and claws to represent its digging lifestyle and maybe like a rhino horn which is what players first see when it smashes out of the wall. Wind could be like a wyvern slender, with no legs and large wings. Fire i couldn't think of interesting so maybe make it more muscular and maybe something to do with lava/fire on its body. Once again no ideas really for elder since I think it looks really cool already.
Lastly this could then lead to the drakes having different attacks. I know they already have different attack effects based on their element but they all fly and spit on players which are not that interesting. Maybe the ocean without wings could have fast melee attacks that slow. Earth could have every three attacks a slow but massive melee aoe attacks like the rift herald charge up that sweeps a large area and can stun players near walls or each other (which would look cool due to its massive claws). Wind could have knockback attacks with its breath and has a bite that reaches really far due to its long neck if it has a wyvern appearance. It could also use its wings to knock people back or maybe slice players with them. Fire has to be aoe of course and could maybe have a massive flame wall that it spits out its mouth like rumble Q and maybe hot explosive rocks and a variety of volcano and meteor related attacks. Once again not sure what to do with elder maybe it alternates its attacks from the different elemental drakes. Hope you all enjoyed and ill be keen to read your different ideas or opinions.
