Hey there! Chubby here with a series of smiley faces! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Ok, I'm done lol. HOW FUNNNN!!!! Omfg! I love love ** LOVE** this concept! AHHHH!! I'm so happy to see something fun and refreshing! When Riot says that they're trying to release champions that the playerbase would enjoy to play and have a ton of options for gameplay... they usually just come out with a midlaner or an ADC, but never have they done that with a support (which I think is what Urilda is. Correct me if I'm wrong!). The last fun and flexible champion that Riot released was Lulu... and that was a LONG time ago, so I would definitely appreciate a mechanically fun and rewarding champion as a support <3. With that being said, I will not hold back on my review (even though I like the concept) since I believe an honest review will benefit you and help you achieve the best for your concept! Let's get started!
(P) passive, cauldron of sorting: urilda is always carrying her heavy cauldron (which slow her down severely to 200 movement spell ) and dont benefit from movement speed instead buying boots reduce the colddown of the witches way.
urilda can mix any of her basic spells together to create a new spell, each spell added to the cauldron requires a stir (taking a slight additional time before it can be use unlike leblanc's mimic kind of work)
Right off the bat I wanna say that 200 movement speed is NOTHING. I understand the reasoning behind this (idk she's probably old and carrying around a huge crock pot), but this isn't a reason to punish her lol. Rive's sword is twice her size, Senna and her cannon, skinny ass Singed and what ever he has on his back, Poppy and her huge hammer (etc). All of these champions have some gear that they usually wouldn't be able to carry, or at least struggle with, and they don't get punished. I feel like allowing her to move at the average champion rate would be fine. If you take this passive for what it offers, aside from the information provided about how her abilities interact (aka mixing), what you're left with is: "This champion has 200 movement speed and building movement speed reduced her R cooldown instead of granting movement speed." That honestly sounds like a rather lackluster passive if you ask me (kinda sounds like a self nerf actually lol). If you insist on her having this low of a movement speed (which I'm against), I would suggest for the mobility compensation you provided by her R to be on a very short cooldown, but that would create a scenario where there's a little old lady with a crock pot flying around with little limitation, and we don't want that. What might work (and might not lol) is if you give her the option of dropping her cauldron. Let me explain! So this cauldron is a very big part of this character's identity so why not have it interact more? If you could drop the cauldron you could create opportunities where she is able to move at a regular champion speed and she would have to walk to it to pick it up. She'd have to go to her cauldron to mix her abilities, but honestly that would make for a very unique playstyle. This is a huge detachment from your original concept so please take this as just a suggestion.
(R) the witches way/brewed spell: urilda can teleport instantly to a location as long as no spell is currently in her cauldron (to compensate for her abysmal movement speed) this distance is double if she moves away from enemy champions near her
uridal cast the spell she is currently brewing
all her skills add 50 mana to the final spell and no spell can be use twice in a row (if you brew and cast Q you can still cast Q+W but it wont let you cast Q alone)
Quick question: Does she start level 1 with a point in her R? Also, how would you propose adding spells to the cauldron (ex. R + the ability)? If so, how would the game know that you're not trying to input a regular cast of "The Witche's Way" upon clicking the R button? Just a little design concern of mine, and not even a thematic design concern but more of a coding concern lol. I feel like the "all her skills add 50 mana" part of this ability could be removed. The initial cast of an ability is already enough, and even if the ability is "stored" in her cauldron you could just have her spend the mana for it upfront (ex. if you want to put Q into the cauldron you have to pay the full amount of Q in order to do so, then if you want to cast it later on you already payed for it so it shouldn't have to cost anymore). Also you say:
if you brew and cast Q
and then say:
but it wont let you cast Q alone
And my pea-sized brain can't seem to understand >__< I need some clarity on this just because it's me that's reading this and I already struggle as it is lol. Please help me out! What do you mean?!
Moving on lol.
(Q) bite of spice: ignite the target ally on fire increasing their attack speed and making their attacks burn, if no bonus attack speed is present in the target coming from items this spell grants a burn effect on their next spell instead.
Lol love the name! It makes perfect sense with what it provides in-game! Big, fat, chubby thumbs up from me!
(W) definitely not poison: a cloud spell that heal allies or damage and slow enemies
Obviously a utility spell, but when you say "heals allies or damage and slow enemies" do you mean to say that both can't happen at the same time (ex. an ally and enemy are both in range and you cast W. Will the ally be healed AND the enemy damaged? Or will this ability take priority into consideration and only heal the ally OR damage the enemy?) Wording is key lol. That's my only concern with this ability.
(E) trent skin: blocks the next skill use on target ally (sivir shield kind of spell) have travel time unless use on urilda, if it blocks a CC skill the enemy is stun for 1 sec
Nice concept. Would love to see how this would work interact with certain abilities (ex. let's say you block Ashe R, would it stun her from a mile away? lol) It's good. It would, of course, need a high cooldown to compensate for the potential to block some very impactful abilities (ex. Ashe R, Varus R, well... any ult that has CC actually lol).
(Q+W+E) urilda's special brew: urilda ultimate brew root her in place and is immune to CC while in this state(not even a tornado could lift such a heavy cauldron) while she fires a potion (plus one potion for each maxed skill) that deal a small amount of damage and have an added effect depending on her current maxed skills:
Q: aditional damage
W: target is slowed, targets hit by more than one potion are rooted 0.5sec
E: allies hit are heal and hasted slightly
once all skills are maxed, urilda take 25% reduce damage while using this brew
Probably my favorite part of the kit :D Some questions: Is this a single target ability, ground target ability, skill shot? Will there be splash damage with the potential to hit multiple targets with a single potion? Could the root duration of this ability be increased, or are you perhaps keeping it at a low duration because these potions fire out fast enough to chain onto themselves for a potential 2 second long root? Just some basic mechanical questions lol.
Aside from what I've said I have to say it (again): I LOVE THIS CONCEPT lol. Riot is out here releasing Senna saying that they want a support to be able to scale into the late game and here my girl Urilda actually scales into the late game all while providing utility to her team. THIS is what a support should be looking like in today's standards (in my opinion). This champion concept rivals that of Kaisa's design when she was released, and don't get me started on Aphelios -.- There really isn't much left to say aside from numbers at this point, so I'll wait for an update on some proposed numbers, or if you would like to collaborate with me I would be more than happy to help you flesh out this concept to its full potential! We could work on things such as:
- Lore
- Abilities
- Interactions
- Art
I'm getting a group of creatives minds to collaborate on champion creations and I would love to talk more about yours. I'll be hosting the entire process on my stream! Let me know if you would like to be a part of this! Cheers!
P.s. Is she meant to be an evil villainous witch, or a cartoony, whimsical witch? Asking for a friend.
