#SHORT INTRODUCTION:

I am back after some time and decided to attempt another kit. This one is an experiment to mostly see if I can make a mechanic work around a passive Effect, and the rest of the whole post came because I always uphold my Content pre-definition, which is the entire table of contents above this text. I hope you will enjoy the read and I look forward to feedback.

#DISCLAIMER:

##I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE MATERIAL USED IN THIS CHAMPION CONCEPT. NO LINK, IMAGE, INSPIRATION AND NAME COMES FROM ME AND ALL RIGHTS ARE RESERVED TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNERS. SOURCE MAY BE ADDED ON STRONG REQUEST.

#SOURCE OF INSPIRATION:

For this Character, i actually wanted to delve into something that was more of a logic-question than a character-interest in itself. I took interest in Death from Supernatural for this one, and unlike with most other characters, this one came with the lore first then the concept because I wanted to implement the inspiration in a way that made sense.

#SUGGESTED LOOKS AND THEME:

LOOKS:

Hasuthra looks old thanks to a wrinkled, worn-out expression at all times. His hair is neatly folded to the back to fit the classy attire he keeps with himself. A Black tuxedo underneath an equally black Trench coat, leather boots and pants. He carries with him a scythe with two handles being in a perfect 90° to the main handle and body of the Scythe. The Blade was small, but lengthy and looked worn out. All in all, the scythe one would expect on a common peasant to mow the grass.

#AUTHOR'S PHILOSOPHY:

Considering my character was portrayed after death, I wanted him to feel like death. Inevitable. Someone who is focused around killing a single target, but making sure that killing them is hard, if not nigh-impossible to stop. Meaning this will be an assassin.

#ABILITIES: http://magaimg.net/img/9vxe.png PASSIVE ABILITY: Death's Touch Cooldown: 12 Seconds

Whenever Hasuthra deals damage to enemy Champions, Large Minions and Large/Epic Monsters using a Basic Attack, he inflicts them with "Death's Touch" for 3 seconds. Over the Duration, Enemies inflicted with "Death's Touch" take (1% Maximum Health / 60 Total AD) (No less than 100 - 300 against Monsters, depending on level) True Damage every second. The Duration of this Effect is prolonged by 1 second whenever an inflicted Enemy takes damage from any of Hasuthra's Abilities.

Only One enemy Champion can be inflicted with "Death's Touch" at any time.

http://magaimg.net/img/9vxf.png Q ABILITY: Reap Cooldown: 8 Seconds Costs: 50 Mana Cast Range: 650 Hitbox: 50

Hasuthra fires a Cut with his Scythe into a target Direction, dealing 60/90/120/150/180 (+80% Bonus AD) Physical damage to the first enemy hit. Consecutive hits only take 50% Damage. If this Ability hits an enemy Champion it can be re-cast, dealing 50% less damage on it's second cast.

Total Damage to Primary Target: 90/135/180/225/270 (+120% Bonus AD)

http://magaimg.net/img/9vxl.png W ABILITY: Pestillent Sweep Cooldown: 5 Seconds Costs: 20 Mana Cast Range: 400 Angle: 270°

Passive: Enemies inflicted with "Death's Touch" are slowed by 10% over it's Duration, increasing by 3/3.5/4/4.5/5% whenever Hasuthra's Ability deal damage to inflicted enemies.

Active: Hasuthra sweeps the Area infront of him and next to him, dealing 10/15/20/25/30 (+15% Bonus AD) Physical damage to all enemies hit. For each enemy defeated and each enemy Champion and Large Monster damaged by this Ability, Hasuthra gains 15 Mana.

http://magaimg.net/img/9vxv.png E ABILITY: Cold Embrace Cooldown: 14/13.5/13/12.5/12 Seconds Costs: 60 Mana Cast Range: 800 Area of Effect Range: 50

After a 1 second Delay, Hasuthra curses the target Area, dealing 30/45/60/75/90 (+33% Bonus AD) Physical damage to all enemies hit. If this Ability hits an enemy Champion, then after a 1 second delay, Hasuthra can Blink right behind them.

If target enemy Champion dies before This Ability's cooldown is over, Hasuthra can return to the position where this Ability was cast.

http://magaimg.net/img/9vxy.png R ABILITY: Memento Mori Cooldown: 140/130/120 Seconds Costs: 100 Mana Cast Range: 550 Re-cast range: 450 Hitbox: 50 Tip Range: 420 - 450

Passive: Refund 20/30/40% of an Ability's cost if at least one enemy Champion is damaged by it.

Active: Hasuthra marks the target enemy Champion for Death. After a 2 second Delay, the enemy Champion is then immediately inflicted with "Death's Touch" regardless of it's cooldown. For the next 6 Seconds, the Target enemy Champion cannot receive any self-inflicted healing.

During this time, Hasuthra can re-cast this Ability up to 3 times, with a 1 second intervall between casts. Each Cast will cause Hasuthra to swing his Scythe from above, dealing 50/75/100 (+50% Bonus AD) Physical damage to all enemies hit. Enemies hit by the Tip of his Scythe will heal Hasuthra for the amount of damage they take.

If the target enemy Champion receives any healing or shields from other enemy Champions for the first time during each Cast of "Memento Mori", Hasuthra will receive +20/22.5/25% AD until "Death's Touch" wears off or the target enemy Champion dies.

http://magaimg.net/img/8xhg.png

#TRIVIA ABOUT ABILITIES:

  • Death's Touch: If a champion is inflicted with it and you cast R on another champion, the first Champion will have the effect immediately dispelled so the second enemy can be inflicted with it.

  • Cold Embrace: If multiple enemies were hit by the Ability, the Blink will prioritize the enemy with the lowest health by percentage. If Both percentages are equal, it will Prioritize the target with the lowest health by value.

  • Memento Mori: Cast Time for the 3 scythe hits are 0.75 seconds each.

http://magaimg.net/img/8xhg.png

#STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:

STRENGTHS:

  • Tank-Killing Assassin

  • High Kill-power

  • Reliable Wave-clear

WEAKNESSES:

  • Telegraphed Mobility

  • Kill-power massively drops if CC focused

  • No immediate Burst, takes time to kill an enemy.

http://magaimg.net/img/8xhg.png

#CHAMPION SYNERGIES:

Sejuani Leona Alistar Amumu Hard CC is very much Hasuthra's best friend, as has always been the case with my concepts. He can hit his stuff the best when nobody can escape from him.

http://magaimg.net/img/8xhg.png

#COUNTERS:

Zed Has a pretty similar playstyle, but with one difference. His Burst is much more guaranteed and slightly faster, and he is just as good at wave-clearing with his W-E-Q combo. Mostly a Skill-matchup.

Tryndamere Hasuthra's entire trope is to be able to kill within a certain time, but not with instant-burst as other assassins do, so unlike with them, Tryndamere has ample time to fight back before he has to press his R, creating the unique scenario where it's not prematurely wasted and thus actually can turn the battle in his favor against Hasuthra.

Elise Elise possesses very reliable hard-burst once she gets ahead and has the Ability to evade most of Hasuthra's Abilities, and reduce the incoming Q damage thanks to her spiderlings always marching infront of her, providing a skillshot-cover that can become a serious inconvenience.

Neeko Hasuthra can shut down healing, but there's nothing he can do against shields of Neeko's size. Plus her poke has a longer range than his and is more guaranteed if she lands an empowered E, making Hasuthra's earlygame in lane (Assuming youre playing him there) absolute hell.

http://magaimg.net/img/8xhg.png

#WHO HASUTHRA COUNTERS:

DrMundo is a guaranteed free kill to Hasuthra. Not only can Mundo's Heal be entirely shut down, his tankiness doesn't matter as well because Hasuthra's Passive deals true damage.

Aatrox His healing is his arguably strongest trading power and it's entirely useless when Hasuthra presses his R Button.

Fizz Fizz's E makes him untargetable, not immune to damage, so Hasuthra's Passive can still do some work against Fizz.

#LORE:

Death is a very complicated thing across the Universe. The end and the Beginning of a cycle so large that nothing can maintain it alone. Hasuthra is one of many Reapers who were created with the sole intent to help Kindred with passing on the dead and give them the choice of death in peace or death in pain. For as long as he remembers it, bringing death had been an easy task for him since he quite frankly never cared for anything other than simply getting it over with.

However, as of late, he had grown increasingly curious with Runeterra. A planet unlike anything he had seen before. Never before had he known such a variety of causes of death as he had seen with Human Civilization and it has fascinated him to witness all the different ways that the dead react upon being brought to the afterlife. He now resides on Runeterra and tries to find any reason to remain there, sometimes even causing random deaths by his own hand, which earned him a conflict with Kindred.

#SHORT STORY:

"AAARRGH!"

A cry of agony. A Thud. Screams of shock.

The sound of an unexpected and seemingly random death. Tears of loss pouring down the faces of the Family, dropping their knees against the cold floor. How cruel dying could be.

There he lay, the man who ate himself to death, who had consumed so much food that his overweight took his heart out. His soul prepared to exit his body. His life over and his death ready for a Harvest.

And there he sat, one Harbinger of Death, dining at some of the Food made for the now deceased male and his family. Shameless as he was, taking a large bite off of the meat, grilled on a modern Hextech-Oven.

Just as the Harbinger finished wiping his lips, a loud gulp would be heard in the background. He turned his head and saw the very man who just died stand there. His soul, having now fully exited his body, ready to pass into the after-life.

"They can't see either one of us, so don't bother." The Harbinger responded with a melancholic and cold voice. A voice so dead in it's tone that it was questionable whether it's speaker was actually alive.

"Sit." The Harbinger commanded before he took the next bite from another plate. The man, too terrified and confused about the situation, stood there frozen, forcing the Harbinger to turn around again before giving a stern glare. "I said Sit."

Reluctantly, the man agreed and did so, sitting down on the table opposite to the Harbinger.

"Why?" he asked. "Popular question, this one word" The Harbinger responded before he resumed eating nonchalantly, completely ignoring the question from the very freshly deceased man.

"Am-Am I dead?" The man asked in a follow-up, hos voice shaken, betraying his fear of death. The Harbinger reached for a cup and sipped some of the drink before he put down fork and knife and slowly glanced up at the man. "Why not?"

The man seemed distressed and more terrified now. The question made it sound like this whole thing was a game that the Harbinger enjoyed. He started to panic, visibly, with his eyesight randomly going everywhere without his head moving so much as an inch. His body straightened and stiff and his throat constantly having the slight tension when a swallow would be taken.

The Harbinger, seemingly reading the intent of the males fear, glanced up in seeming annoyance. "You have a very inflated sense of your fate and my role in it." He spoke before, once again, resuming his little feast.

The man was no longer able to access the situation. "But..."

The Harbinger cut him off by looking up again. "Shut up. I am eating." He commanded and continued to eat, undisturbed from this moment on until he finished the plate.

Once he was done, he snipped with his finger and time seemed to stand still, the crying Wife and terrified children in the background frozen like sculptures.

"My break is over, work calls." The Harbinger spoke and started to get up.

The man seemed to feel confusion again for his face betrayed his thoughts. "Wasn't Death supposed to be...an archer or something?"

The Harbinger's eye had a slight twitch at the mention of the Kindred Spirit of Death and said twitch seemed to not go unnoticed. "You are an unnerving human, do you know that?"

The man gulped strongly before he gave an apologetic nod. "But...what are you then?"

"That you wouldn't comprehend. Now then." The Harbinger replied before fixing his collar.

The man threw a glance towards his family, fearing for them as much as he feared his adversary and hesitantly rose a hand up, the sign of asking a question. "What will happen to them?"

The Harbinger only threw one glance towards them then shrugged. "I enjoyed the dinner, so I guess they get to live. For now." he replied, his voice as cold as ice could never be, his eyes void of any emotion.

The man lowered his head and nodded, standing up as well.

The Harbinger reached under the table they had sat at and took out a large, old and seemingly normal scythe.

"Do you accept your fate?"

The man slowly nodded, silently, bracing himself for whatever was to come.

"Good. Then that makes my work all the easier." The Harbinger replied and the scythe rose before coming down.

One swing later, the soul was gone. And a second later, so was the Harbinger.

  • Annoying products of failure they are and now they come seeking me out. I give props for stupidity.

  • Sometimes I would love nothing more than to retire and find myself a spot in Piltover and dine on their delicacies every day. Well, good thing that the death toll there is so high so I have ample reason to visit.

FIRST MEETING ENEMY KINDRED:

  • So...should we kick pops now?

  • Ever the married couple, you two. At least your bickering went down.

  • You still owe me for helping you bring Sahn-Uzal's soul into the afterlife.

This is some excellent editing! It just appeals my eye and looks clean - something not many concepts can say. Hasuthra also looks very nice - albeit he doesn't look as 3/3 diffuclty for me, but he does seem to require pateince from the player. Also nice backstory. Overall an incredible concept!

I always appreciate a well formatted post; such a wonderful sight for sore eyes. Besides that, I have a quick question.

Consecutive hits only take 50% Damage. If this Ability hits an enemy Champion it can be re-cast, dealing 50% less damage on it's second cast.

This line confused me. Is Reap dealing 25% of it’s damage on the second attack if it’s hitting the same target? I think the ability would be more clear if it only did 50% reduced damage if it hits the same target. That way, it’d also reward spreading the damage out between multiple targets. Additionally, I feel that you could round up some of his scalings. I understand that you want the final value to be a flat number you had in mind, but, as an example, changing his mana to a flat 37 per level would be better overall. (Especially considering Riot’s recent stat rounding balance changes in the last year.) Overall a really interesting concept. I especially like his “nothing personal” Cold Embrace.

Hedge Witch12/4/2019, 11:18:37 PM1 votes

I appreciate the effort, but we don't need any more male champions. There is already double the amount of male champs to female champs.

FridgeD12/5/2019, 1:13:49 PM1 votes

cancels all healing? for 6 seconds? for real? who are you? certainlyT? (the t stands for trash) i mean, there is true dmg in the kit and a 0 counterplay ult.

basically ever more edgelord shadow kayn with cancer mechanics.

3/10.

I really like this design ... I'm not one to comment but this champion feels like the personification of inevitability rather than death, because once he has someone to assassinate if played perfectly they should cease to exist.

I also love champions that require mechanical skill and decision making ( 3/3 gang ;)) [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
