10 Bans? Would you want this?

Hey, would anyone enjoy having each team have five bans? There are some problems created, which I'll list below, but I wanted to see if anyone would enjoy this.

Problems: Draft is harder for new players to enter as they need more champions This is easily solved by just giving everyone the starter champs for free, which has the added benefit of giving new players some ip to spend experimentally instead of on trying to get champs Picking will take longer Why don't we just give, say 15 seconds for each ban and each pick. It would drastically reduce the time it would take, however, counterpicking would be more difficult. Any ideas on how to solve this?

I dont. It would mean anyone hated by the community would never see game play. Yasuo, kat, zed, and anyone else someone hates for no reason would never be played.

You can't use free champs in ranked, but if you only have like 10 champs, probably haven't played enough to play ranked (unless you're a smurf)

They could have some formula where multiple people are picking/banning at the same time.

First of all, to my knowledge this has already been announced to be a thing in the future. (I don't remember where I heard this, so don't take my word as gospel on this)

Now to comment on your problems :3

I personally don't see this as a real problem. By the time players are starting out, they should honestly be allowed to play exactly what they want and that wouldn't be possible if they're playing with bans in the first place. If they're not starting out playing what they want, they'll just be put into something they're not prepared for. My first 10 games were with Ashe because I played her in the tutorial. While of course not everyone can do that and not everyone wishes to play the same champion every game, they don't want to be disallowed to play their favorite when they're still learning.

Picking will take longer

Ohhh noooo, you'll have to wait an entire extra minute to play a game for 40 minutes. Your life will be wasted by this! Over 300 games, that's 5 hours! So much time of your life wasted where you could've done other things! If you didn't guess, that was sarcasm. Suck it up. You've been able to ban 6 champions since there were only 60 champions in the game. Now that number has beyond doubled, so a ban means so much less these days. 5 bans per team wouldn't come up to that, but it'll mean more. How often do you get your champ banned where you are not just thinking "Oh well, better pick this instead then"? Unless you're maining a highly contested pick, you're not going to get banned with just 6 bans unless someone has a grudge against your champ.

With over 130 champions in the game, 10 is a super low number when compared to that. I can't wait for the day every player gets to pick 2 champions to ban for a total of 20.

I'm not sure if it will, but I'm hoping that if 10 bans does become a thing (assuming the rumor, going around, holds water), I am hoping it creates an environment where bans are actually chosen based off of Team Comp Counters.

As it is now, (at least from what I've seen in my games), the ban system is used primarily for:

"This Champion counters my Champion in lane. They don't pose a threat to my team as a whole, but they pose a threat to me, so I'm banning them."

and

"This Champion is becoming the FoTM and they are honestly too strong right now. They are so strong that practically anyone who plays them has a very high chance of winning the game, solely because they chose this Champion. Therefore, I'm banning them."

To be honest, I don't think I've ever been in a game where either side, my team or the opposing team, had an actual team comp. And, by that, I don't mean that their comp wasn't strong. I mean, I've never seen a team comp that looked like it was, well, strategically thought out.
