Benuli, Brace of Deference

Hey guys, this is my first post on Boards in 7 years of LOL so please take it gently. This is my idea for a champion. Not too OP, not useless either, but rather something unique and I wish we'd have in game. Also sorry for the bad English :). This concept has no numbers/ratios because I don't think they are any relevant.

Champion Concept / Short description Benuli is an Ionian monk, who grew up and lived in the forest, learning the teaching of nature. His abilities rely on placing totems around the battlefield, and his basic role would be a tanky champion if support role is desired, or full AP if damage is desired, that would fit the meta primarily as a support, and secondary as a Top/Mid.

**Abilities: ** Passive: Totemic Lessons Benuli stores a totem every 10 seconds, up to 4 totems. Each ability consumes automatically one totem (if any is availabe) per cast, gaining bonus effects.

Placing a totem in the range of other totems increases their duration by 0.5 seconds, and activates them. Totems can be activated multiple times.

Q: Grasp of the wind Costs: Mana, and a totem if available. Benuli engulfs himself in mists for 2 seconds, slowing nearby enemies by 10 % and damaging them by X every 0.5 seconds. Consuming a totem with this ability allows it to be cast at a target location, and enemies caught within are no longer slowed, but rather slowly dragged towards the totem, being able to run awar from it at a slower speed. Activating this totem allows Benuli to shoot a gale from the totem in a selected direction, slowing and instantly damaging enemies caught in the line.

Details: Its radius is similar to Jayce's W (melee). Enemies who stand still will be slowly dragged to the totem over the duration. They can run away from it assuming they have enough movement speed. An exhaust or Nasus' W would be enough to render them unable to outrun the drag. Enemies running towards the totem are sped up, but the distance is rather short. The gale shot from the totem is a projectile.

W: Cleansing waters Costs: Mana, and a totem if available Benuli targets an area. After a brief delay, rain drops fall for 3 seconds in the area, damaging enemies every seconds and revealing their location if stealthed. Consuming a totem with this ability increases it's radius and grants true vision on the area and on enemies who got damaged at least once by the ability. Allied champions who enter the area have all the damage of time effects removed from them, but not other effects from enemy spells. Activating this totem greatly increases the damage over time in the area for the remaining duration.

Ability details: Benuli's primary damaging tool, radius similar to Miss Fortune's E when cast with no totem, and similar to Veigar's W when cast with totem. Removes Ignite's DOT but not true vision, removes Mordekaiser's Ulti dagame but not the slow if he has Rilay, removes Talon's passive and so on.

E: Booming Voice Costs: Mana, and a totem if available Benuli shouts, removing silence effects from himself, gains armor and magic resist if he removed at least one such effect, and damages nearby enemies if he didn't.

Consuming a totem with this ability allows Benuli to place the totem at targeted location, instantly casting the ability both on himself and on the totem, allies near the totem benefiting from it. The totem then pulses, granting immunity to silence and interrupt effects for nearby allies for 1.5 second. Activating this totem casts Booming Voice again at the totem's location, and silences nearby enemies for 1 second..

Ability details: With no totem, Benuli can cast it over Soraka's E, gaining the resists, but the silence would be refreshed imediately, therefore not so much benefits from it. It removes however Malzahar's Q silence, Cho'Gath's W and so on. With totem, the ability is a strong counter to Soraka's E and Kassadin's Q. Good combo when having strong channeled abilities such as MF's ultimate and enemies have silences. Also, note that the ability SHOULD remove self-silence effects (Such as Rumble).

R: Lingering Hope Costs: Mana and a totem (cannot be cast without a totem). Benuli drops a totem at his feet, which pulses every 0.25 seconds for 1.5 seconds. Nearby allied champions health is redistributed so that at the end of each pulse, all nearby allied champions end up with the same percentage of health. Activating this totem damages nearby enemies equal to 1% of the damage they dealt inside the zone, split evenly between them.

Ability details: Radius similar to Amumu's ultimate. The health redistribution is not a healing effect, therefore not affected by Grievous Wounds. The ability, like all other abilities, can be prolonged with aditional totems cast near it, up toi 3 seconds. This ability cannot save allied champions from executes (Urgot/Pyke's R). Activation damage computes the damage enemies dealt while they were inside the zone, on the allied champions inside the zone.

Well, here is my idea guys :) If it looks too useless or too OP, it can be worked on its ratios which I avoided thinking about. Spell order is important (like on any other champion). W would look OP at first sight, but considering the fact that allies must stay in the radius is a price they must pay. Benuli would have to choose therefore to cast it on enemies for damage, cast it on allies and lose damage, or allies must go into the enemies if you want both damage and DOT removal. A Tristana / Benuli combo would look great. Building tank items would benefit most from the ultimate but lose damage. Usefull in squishy teams. Building AP would increase the output damage but reduce the benefits from the ultimate. Usefull in tanky teams. There area few scenarios where the ultimate must be carefully thought about, such as Trynda/Aatrox/Anivia/Kindred.

What do you guys think?

Hello there, A few notes,

This champion is solely based on over time damage, while this would be exceptional for long lasting team fights and zoning I don’t think he’d be very strong in solo lanes.

Maybe a totem that fires something at nearby enemy champions, much like Heimer’s turrets. It would give him more zoning potential and would place him in the role of an area control support. This way he could dominate the laning phase and although he weakens by late game his carry will be fed enough to keep up for him.

Really nice concept though keep it up!

The ult could be a little more impactful, like 20% of the damage they deal? 1% is a bit underwhelming. Unless that is per 0.5.
