Ideas for new game mechanics
While I was reviewing one of my older concepts, I realized that while the champion itself might not fit the game all that well, she has a few mechanics that could be considered to be add into the game that I think would be healthy.
Namely, these spells.
Passive - Cyndel passively gains a Flame Charge every 5 seconds going up to 10. When Cyndel uses all of her flame charges she gains 10% movespeed, and cannot use any spells for 10 seconds. Maximum flame charge count increases by 1 with every 100 ap.
This is pretty much a love child of Rumble's passive and Rengar's passive, but reversed. It's another resource system, and a lot of the kit had to deal with resource management such as refunding charges with combinations of spells. It's a different method of gating that I think would perform similarly to energy, but much more punishing in the long run while less punishing on the short term.
E - Places a mark on an enemy champion that lasts 6 seconds, causing basic attacks and Flamelash(Her q, think yasuo q) to deal 2/3/4/5/6% of the target’s maximum health as bonus magic damage and also deals 20/30/40/50/60(+15% of ap) magic damage per second for 5 seconds. Cyndel can at any point choose to teleport to the target, losing the previous bonuses but causing the target to take increased damage from any source by 15%, and preventing the use of movement abilities for the rest of the mark’s duration. Using Flamelash on a target marked by Everburn will refund the Flame Charge that was spent. Costs 2 Flame Charges to cast.
The main part of the ability that I like is the skill-only snare. I honestly think this would be a mechanic that would work wonderfully on Talon's Cutthroat, since not being able to fight back is a problem, but not being able to escape is something he could use. For clarification, when the spell is used on you, you are still able to right click and move around normally, but you cannot use leaps, dashes, teleports, or blinks. Possibly even movespeed increasing abilities like powerball or highlander.
