Ideas for Yorick Champion Update

I feel like Yorick's abilities are complicated and powerful, but give him a very linear playstyle, so I came up with some ideas for a possible rework. I'll describe the abilities first, then the reasoning:

Passive, Unholy Covenant: Yorick's Ghouls heal him for 50 percent of damage dealt when they impact on a champion

Q, Ghoul of War: Sends a ghoul in a line towards target location that explodes for damage that scales off of AD. Impacting a minion will cause the ghoul to explode. Once exploded, the ghoul leaves a poison-like effect that lingers and damages all enemy units over time, similar to Morgana's Tormented Soil. Also, still buffs Yorick's next attack. Ghouls also grant vision into the Fog of War on explosion.

W, Ghoul of Pestilence: Sends a ghoul in a line to target location, similar to the Q, only the impact damage scales based on AP and the poison area slows enemies over time instead of damaging them.

E, Ghoul of Famine: Sends a ghoul in a line to target location, similar to the Q and the W, only the impact damage scales on AP and the poison area reduces enemies resistances over time instead of slowing or damaging them.

R, All Hallow's Eve: Yorick's ghouls can pass through enemy units to detonate at a specific location while the ult is on. In addition to doing more damage, the poison/area of effect left by each ghoul's explosion lingers longer, in a larger area and gives buffs to Yorick and his allies. The Q aura gives allies increased AD, the W gives increased attack speed, and the E grants a shield, refreshing each second while allies are in the area of effect. At level 11, the ultimate gives Yorick the ability to use his basic abilities twice before triggering their cooldowns. At level 16, he can use his basic abilities 3 times before triggering cooldowns, allowing him 9 potential zones at once.

Explanation: Yorick has always had very confusing flavor and lore for me, so I though why not make him simpler? He is a ghouls guy. He makes ghouls, his ultimate gives him super ghouls. Make the ghouls do cool stuff that allows him to win trades and create zones in teamfights. It seems like this version of Yorick would have a very high skillcap because his basic abilites function as poke while the ult is off, but become surgical zoning tools while it is on. It seems important to mix the damage between AD and AP between the ghouls, as is already done now, and since he is a melee champion, tending towards AP with two abilities will make it more of a choice whether they want to be utility or try to carry with AD.

I feel like his current ult is confusing and makes no sense from what I understand of the lore, and there are currently no counters to him. This would give him a lot to do in teamfights and force players to make decisions on how to build him. His main weakness is his lack of escapes and reliance on skills shots at close range while trading. If they can dodge his skills shots while his ult is not on, they would go in a line, meaning he would miss the effect of the zone and probably lose trades.
