When Swain gets reworked he should have a "strategic" kit but changes when his back is to the wall.
What do I mean by this? Well Swain is a General and he fights strategically and controls the battlefield as if it were a chess game to map out every possible move. When his back is to the wall he loses all strategic reasoning and morphs for a last ditch effort. He would be a drain tank mage thing in Raven form, sort of.
His passive would be the back to the wall thing i talked about. When Swain is damaged by an enemy champion to where he falls below 50% health he turns into a giant Raven and fuses with Beatrice. His Raven form shares cooldowns with his abilities but they all change. When he first transforms he instantly gains health equal to what his current mana was but burns lots of health per second while transformed. He becomes a melee champion in Raven form. This can kill him. Raven form ends if Swain dies, he stays in Raven form for 10 seconds, or he kills an enemy champion and devours the body. He devours the body by clicking on a dead enemy champion in Raven form. Does not use mana in Raven form(duh). His autos heal him for 100% of damage dealt.
His Q would be similar to live except now he can put Beatrice on an ally champions shoulder to deal damage to enemies near that champion. His Raven form causes Beatrice to instantly come to him to Transform. His new Q grabs an enemy champion, take a bite out of them, and heal based on 100% of the damage dealt. Melee range.
His W would be the same as live with a slight rework. He can lay W down as traps but if he casts it directly over an enemy it instantly starts the activation. The W trap wouldnt be hidden, it will be perfectly visible for all. His Raven form makes his W on activation summon a whole bunch of Ravens around Swain and damages all enemies near him and heals for 100% of the damage. Ravens surround Swain for 1 second to deal damage while they heal him if they are damaging enemies.
E would cause Swain to throw a slow moving volatile magic orb in target direction. If the orb hits it explodes and deals magic damage over 2 seconds to all nearby foes but gains 0.5 more seconds on the duration for every time Swain damages that enemy with his autos or spells up to 2 more seconds. In Raven form his E is no longer a skillshot but instead has fly in target direction and grab the first enemy champion in his path, shoving them into the ground and inflicting a heavy bleed. Does not heal Swain but he heals for whatever bleed damage is left on the target if he hits them with Q.
His R is nothing special, just a passive. R has 3 points total and each point affects his human form, no effect on Raven form. Ranks 1-3 cause his Q to hit 1/2/3 more targets, his W now having 2/3/4 traps placeable, and his E to bexome 25%/50%/75% larger.
