A Champion that can send your skill shots/projectiles back at you

I'm not talking about a Yasuo windwall or Braum shield, this ability has to be timed just as it's about to hit you or it will have Graves consequences. Basically, this champion's ability is a Fiora riposte except if you cast it 1.5+ seconds before you get hit by the skill shot you will take double the damage of that skill shot.

However, should you happen to time the skill shot to perfection and activate it exactly as it's about to hit your champion you will deflect it and return it directly to the caster which will do THEM double the damage.

No this skill shot doesn't work against point and click CC or stuns so it's not exactly a riposte and it can only counter ONE projectile/skill shot. So should you happen to use this ability against someone like Lucian or Xerath it will only return 1 of those projectiles/shots.

Yes this ability works on ranged auto attacks. Bare in mind it would be much harder to time/execute on any champion building attack speed.

Against a champion like Brand it would cancel the bounce of his ULT and return it to him then his teammates/minions that are in range. Certain abilities like the Pyroclasm can't be dodged as it is point and click however other skills like Anivia Q will give the enemy will have the same amount of time that you had to juke/dodge it, at which point it will just hit the area in which it was originally casted from unless it's a global ability like an Ashe Arrow.

No it can't deflect a Lux R or Velkoz R. Bare in mind whatever ability that was casted will still have the same effect but will do double the damage. If the ability casted doesn't do damage then it won't do any damage.

An Ahri charm will charm Ahri if she doesn't move out the way. A Nidalee Q which will pass through her minions to hit you BUT will hit her minions if you return it. (Assuming you're in lane)

This ability is a self cast so the only way you can block an ally from harm is by flashing in front of them and timing the skill shot/projectile to perfection.

If you deflect an Ashe hawkshot it will reveal fog of war for YOUR team. If used against a Blitzcrank Q it will do the damage to him but it won't grab him. It won't work on Urgot R either, just the damage no execution. Caitlyn R will return directly to her regardless of any juke/flash or E Cassiopeia R will stun her Doesn't work on Chogath Q but works on his W and E except for when the E is an auto on you. Doesn't work on any of Darius's abilities, nor Garen's A Fiddlesticks crow will bounce back to enemy minions/champions.

ETC.....ETC....ETC...

Now I was thinking this Champion could be a melee assassin or a mage. If it's a mage I'm thinking a dark Illusionist with a black and white swirl mask...like the kind a hypnotist would use in a watch in movies. Or how about a half mage half melee assassin. Wields a sword and can still conjure dark magic with 2 of his abilities. It's obvious which ability I've thought about the most given the post, Riot I leave the rest up to you.

While the idea is interesting, it has some problems.

So if it reflects or not is just up to your timing. Basically, high elo players would master this ability, making it extremely strong. Low elo players would struggle with the timing and making the champion completely worthless. Such a big distance between these strengths is not something desirable for Riot.

Additionally, the technological side. This ability is able to reflect skillshots.... something that you aim yourself. How does it work? Does it automatically shoot at where the enemy is currently standing? Does it try to calculate where the enemy champion will be, using their movement direction and speed? Does it "save" the skillshot and you have to immediately reactivate it to aim the skill yourself?

This needs alot more thought and actually could mean that this skill either becomes absolutely OP, or just useless.... Not to mention that I don't understand why it has to double the damage of the enemy skillshot. Reflecting any skillshot is already really really powerful as it is....

Doesn't work on Pyke Ult. Doesn't work on Nautilus Q Doesn't work on Amumu Q Doesn't work on Thresh Q or E but will deflect latern back to him.

Yeah, this has been tossed around a few times on the boards. Reflecting a projectile seems pretty interesting but balancing issues are pretty hard. Like... Veigar R? Does it do the damage based on YOUR missing health? This could 1-shot a champion when reflected dealing 2x damage. I had a concept I never fully fleshed out that could steal projectiles, and then shoot them out later. But it's kinda hard to balance. I guess champs like Darius would be the counter.

We could have like some champion with a 'mirror' as a 'weapon', similar to Ying from Paladins or Amaterasu from SMITE

I would love this especially when One for all comes back! Imagine just reflecting everything!

I was on board until

if you cast it 1.5+ seconds before you get hit by the skill shot you will take double the damage of that skill shot.

However, should you happen to time the skill shot to perfection and activate it exactly as it's about to hit your champion you will deflect it and return it directly to the caster which will do THEM double the damage.

It's likely we'll see a champion with a mechanic similar to this eventually, but I don't see any reason it should do double damage at any point. It would likely act... well almost exactly like fiora's ripose.

I'd love to see Ahri charming herself to herself? Wait it doesn't work , there has to be a target she moves to when getting charmed
